Holiston Extra Virgin Olive Oil – extra virgin olive oil with polyphenols
Holiston is an extra virgin olive oil from Greece, obtained directly from olives and solely by mechanical means. It is made from Koroneiki olives from Rhodes and comes from the early 2024 harvest.
The oil has a distinctive sensory profile typical of high-quality extra virgin olive oils: fruitiness, gentle bitterness and a lightly peppery finish. These qualities naturally reflect the olive variety, early harvest and careful processing.
Polyphenol content
Holiston declares 10 mg of hydroxytyrosol, tyrosol and their derivatives per 20 g of olive oil. This value meets the condition for using the approved EU health claim for olive oil polyphenols.
Olive oil polyphenols contribute to the protection of blood lipids from oxidative stress. The beneficial effect is obtained with a daily intake of 20 g of olive oil.
Vitamin E and unsaturated fats
One 15 ml serving contains 3 mg of vitamin E, which corresponds to 25% of the reference intake.
Vitamin E contributes to the protection of cells from oxidative stress.
Olive oil naturally contains unsaturated fats. Replacing saturated fats in the diet with unsaturated fats contributes to the maintenance of normal blood cholesterol levels.
