A natural and edible OregaCARE mouthwash from North American Herb & Spice with a refreshing blend of wild herbs and spices. It is based on the hydrosol of oregano P73, a wild oregano from the high mountain regions of the Mediterranean. This particular oil has been researched and tested at the Georgetown University Medical Center in the US where it has been proven to be effective. Other ingredients are essences of wild mint, bay leaf and sage and an extract of wild American cranberry.

OregaCARE natural mouthwash is an ideal oral hygiene product for the whole family, only pregnant women should be careful with swallowing due to the presence of sage. This product from NAHS also harnesses the effects of P73 oreganole along with other ingredients that have been carefully selected for their properties.

Beneficial effects of OregaCARE mouthwash

• Wild Oregano Hydrosol - Oreganol P73 helps remove plaque.
• The use of wild peppermint hydrosol is mainly due to its menthol content, as well as essential oils, tannins, flavonoids and phenols. Mint helps with the reduction of bad breath.
• Wild sage hydrosol is added for its effects in suppressing bad breath.
• As well as hydrosol from laurel, whose leaves are rich in bitter substances, essential oils, alkaloids.

Juice (hydrosol) of wild oregano, Oreganol P73:

It is a very aromatic essence of wild oregano, obtained by steam distillation of oregano leaves. The mountain inhabitants of the Mediterranean prefer oregano in this form because the plant accumulates oxygen from the mountain air in its leaves. The unique steam distillation method used to produce both this and other hydrosols produces an oxygen-enriched extract that is very different from oil. This form is fat soluble, which allows it to penetrate more easily into any body organ that is encased in fat.

A miracle called Oregano

Wild oregano oil from the Turkish mountains is the strongest essential oil in the world!

The wild oregano plant, native to the Mediterranean mountains, was widely used in ancient Greece - its Greek name, oros ganos, literally means "mountain delight". This plant is completely superior in quality and effectiveness to the common oregano grown in Mexico or other countries. Surviving records show that oregano was recommended by Hippocrates himself. The oregano plant is absolutely exceptional in its composition (see below). It is harvested by hand in areas that lie at an altitude of almost 4 km, where it grows freely on rocky soil rich in minerals. It is this soil that makes the local oregano an exceptional antioxidant. In addition to clove essential oil, oregano oil has the highest known ORAC value (300,000 per 100 g) in the world. Did you know that oregano has 50 times more antioxidant activity than apples and 30 times more than potatoes?

P73 indicates the high percentage of polyphenols in this particular brand of oregano oil. Because they are bactericidal phenols (substances that kill harmful bacteria), they have been well used in the manufacture of all NAHS products containing P73.

Main active ingredients

Filtered water, emulsified oils of wild oregano P73, lavender, bay leaf and clove.

Oregano oil P73 contains four main groups of substances:

1. Phenols

Natural carvacrol phenol - P73 has more than 64% carvacrol - the high content of this phenol indicates a quality oregano oil.

Thymol phenol - the content of this phenol in P73 is less than 5%. Oregano oils of poor quality usually contain a higher percentage of this ingredient, which can be problematic in higher concentrations.

Cuminaldehyde phenol - the main component in cumin oil, Cuminum cyminum.

2. Terpenes

Terpenes are an essential component of essential oils. These are volatile fragrances contained in the leaves, fruits, flowers, rhizomes and roots of plants.

Linalool and bonreol - two long-chain alcohols found in oregano oil.

4. Esters

Esters are part of the fruit of plants and give them their specific aroma.
