Innovations in the production of healthier and greener organic crisps
Trafo focuses on reducing the content of acrylamide, a potentially carcinogenic substance formed during the frying of potato products. By working with Agrico, they have developed a new potato variety with a lower content of free sugars, which helps to reduce this harmful substance. Innovation plays a key role in the Trafo potato chip production process.
You can read about the effect of acrymaid on our body here on the blog.
The company uses modern technologies such as drying wall and vacuum baking, and implements an advanced pulsed electric field (PEF) production process. This technology not only reduces acrylamide levels, but also improves the quality, efficiency and sustainability of the company's operations. This project, which has been supported by co-funding from the European Union, represents another step towards healthier and greener snacks. In the production of our chips, Trafo works with fresh ingredients and works directly with local farmers who share the same passion for a beautiful natural product that stands for quality, sustainability and collaboration with nature.
The ingredients are grown without pesticides, are richer in nutrients, do not contain genetic manipulation, and organic produce is simply tastier. Our farmers are not exposed to pesticides, water extraction costs are down, which is better for people, animals and nature. Organic farming focuses on quality and healthy products!
The main idea of Trafo is to provide healthy and tasty organic chips that preserve natural flavours and nutritional values without chemical preservatives.
