Why we chose Redmond Re-Lyte™ for PraveBio.cz
Redmond is a family-owned American company that makes functional products from two raw materials it sources from its own underground deposit in Utah: unrefined Real Salt sea salt and Redmond Clay bentonite. Extraction involves no chemical processing; the salt is not bleached and retains its natural trace minerals and distinctive sweet-salty taste. The clay is finely milled bentonite from the same deposit, traditionally used in skin care and around the home (for example in wraps and other topical applications); it stands out for being suitable for internal use as well. Neither the salt nor the clay contains microplastics or modern heavy metal contaminants.
Re-Lyte™ is an electrolyte range made with Real Salt, a natural source of sodium and more than 60 trace minerals. Thanks to the character of this salt, the electrolytes have a gentler, naturally “mineral” salty profile than most comparable products. The formula contains no a
Re-Lyte™ Energy Limeade – electrolytes for energy and performance
Re-Lyte™ Energy Limeade is for moments when you need energy without losing sight of hydration. One serving combines 120 mg of natural caffeine from green tea extract with electrolytes, with no sugar and no caloric load.
The electrolyte base delivers 500 mg sodium from unrefined Real Salt sea salt, topped up with potassium (350 mg), magnesium (40 mg) and calcium (55 mg). This ratio reflects what you typically lose through sweating and training, and it’s also practical in lower-carb routines where mineral intake often needs more attention.
Caffeine comes exclusively from green tea extract, not synthetic sources. Each serving delivers a clearly defined amount, with no added stimulants.
Energy metabolism is supported by B vitamins (niacin, vitamin B6, vitamin B12), which are particularly relevant during physical or mental strain.
The profile is rounded out with a blend of plant extracts – beetroot, ginseng, rhodiola, maca and ashwagandha – as an additional part of the formula.
Recommended serving of Re-Lyte™ Energy Limeade is mixed into 500 ml of water. The drink contains no sugar, no calories and no artificial sweeteners. Sweetness comes from steviol glycosides (Rebaudioside A), with no impact on glycaemia. Suitable for low-carb, keto and fasting-friendly routines.
How long the energy lift lasts
- Effects may be noticeable around 15 minutes after use.
- Peak energy typically arrives within 1–2 hours, then gradually tapers over the next few hours.
- With caffeine’s half-life (around 4–6 hours), effects can linger for up to 6 hours, depending on metabolism and individual caffeine sensitivity.
When to choose a different option
- If you want pre-workout energy and you’re chasing performance, go for Re-Lyte™ Pre-Workout.
- If you need hydration without caffeine (evenings, stimulant sensitivity), Re-Lyte™ Hydration is the better fit.
- If you’re after long-term, preventative support during heavier load or cold season, consider Re-Lyte™ Immunity.

Why Re-Lyte™ uses calcium carbonate instead of other calcium forms
Re-Lyte™ uses calcium carbonate in some products for practical reasons linked to solubility and the final drink texture. This form helps keep the drink zero-calorie while mixing more smoothly in water.
With older formulas, some customers noticed the mix didn’t dissolve as easily. Switching the calcium form improved mixability without changing the core formula or the purpose of the product – replenishing minerals with no sugar and no unnecessary extras.
What matters is that in Re-Lyte™, calcium carbonate doesn’t behave like a typical standalone “calcium supplement”. The drink also contains citric acid, which reacts with the carbonate – even as you mix it in water, part of the calcium forms calcium citrate.
In practice, that means better solubility and easier use. Concerns sometimes linked to taking calcium carbonate on its own don’t apply to this use case.
If you prefer a version without calcium, unflavoured options are also available.

Why choose Redmond
The Redmond brand began in the US state of Utah in the late 1950s, when the Bosshardt family discovered a large salt deposit while working their own land. It wasn’t an industrial “find”, but a natural discovery on ground the family had been stewarding for years.
The deposit formed as the prehistoric Sundance Sea dried up, then over millions of years it was covered by sediments and bentonite clay created from volcanic ash. That natural cover insulated the salt from the outside environment and helped preserve its stability and purity without chemical processing. Redmond later used bentonite from the same layer on its own – as a raw material for products based on bentonite clay.
From the beginning, Redmond has relied on extraction from one single, consistently monitored deposit. The salt isn’t “cleaned” by refining; it’s processed mechanically, without bleaching and without additives. That’s why it keeps its natural mineral profile.
Over time, a local source became a maker known for products built around unrefined salt – from kitchen salts to functional electrolyte blends. The brand remains family-owned and sticks to the same principles: clear origin, readable ingredients, simple use.
One salt deposit in Utah
All salt comes from a single underground deposit in Utah. Redmond doesn’t blend sources or rely on anonymous “global” supply chains.
Bentonite geology
For a long time, the deposit was covered by bentonite clay formed from volcanic ash. This layer naturally insulated the salt from surface exposure.
Unrefined processing
The salt is not bleached or chemically cleaned; processing is mechanical and gentle. Thanks to its underground origin, it doesn’t come into contact with contamination (microplastics, hormones, pesticides, heavy metals) that can be a concern for salt from open waters.
Trace minerals
Redmond Real Salt naturally contains more than 60 trace minerals and elements, including magnesium, potassium, calcium and iron, which are often lost during standard salt refining.
Same source since the 1950s
Extraction and processing have taken place since the late 1950s from the same deposit. For natural raw materials, consistency matters.
Family-owned
The brand remains in the hands of the founding Bosshardt family. It’s not a “flipped” brand with changing owners and shifting strategies.
Made in the USA
Extraction and processing take place in the USA in food-grade facilities. Clear origin, not a blend from multiple countries.
Functional products
Unrefined salt is the base for Re-Lyte electrolytes as well as seasonings and BBQ blends. The clay is processed for internal and external use.

FAQ
Why does Re-Lyte® Energy combine caffeine and electrolytes in one drink?
Re-Lyte® Energy comes from a practical need to handle alertness and hydration at the same time. During sport, sweating, heat or long shifts, the body doesn’t just lose energy – it also loses minerals, especially sodium.
That’s why the base is electrolytes (for example 500 mg sodium per serving), with a clearly defined caffeine dose on top. The result isn’t a sweet energy drink, but a functional combination with no sugar and no caloric load.

How much caffeine is in one serving, and where does it come from?
One serving of Re-Lyte® Energy contains 120 mg caffeine. The source is green tea leaf extract, not synthetic caffeine.
The benefit is clarity – unlike coffee, where caffeine can vary widely by bean and brew. If you’re more caffeine-sensitive, start with a smaller amount and watch your response.

Can I take two servings a day? When is it “too much”?
Two servings equal 240 mg caffeine. If you also drink coffee or use other stimulants, keep an eye on your total daily caffeine intake.
A commonly cited upper guideline is 400 mg caffeine per day. Higher intake can lead to restlessness, palpitations or poorer sleep, even in people who usually tolerate caffeine well.

How long does the effect typically last, and when is Energy not ideal?
The strongest effect is usually felt within 1–2 hours after use. For most adults, caffeine’s half-life is around 4–6 hours, so some effects can linger longer.
In practice, Re-Lyte® Energy is usually not ideal late afternoon or evening, especially if you’re stimulant-sensitive or focused on sleep quality.

Is Re-Lyte® Energy suitable for pregnant or breastfeeding women and for children?
Re-Lyte® Energy contains caffeine and is primarily intended for adults. During pregnancy and breastfeeding, caffeine intake is generally recommended to be limited and always discussed with a doctor.
Caffeinated drinks are not typically recommended for children and adolescents. If you want hydration without stimulants, Re-Lyte® Hydration is the better option.

What’s the difference between Re-Lyte® Energy, Hydration and Pre-Workout?
Re-Lyte® Energy combines electrolytes and caffeine for everyday use. Re-Lyte® Hydration is caffeine-free and focused purely on hydration. Re-Lyte® Pre-Workout is a targeted product for pre-training use.
Choose based on whether you want hydration, daytime energy, or performance support before exercise.

Can I combine Re-Lyte® Energy with other Re-Lyte products?
Generally yes – but it depends on whether you’re stacking multiple caffeine sources that day, and whether you would be better served by caffeine-free hydration.
A practical approach is to choose one “main” option based on your goal (Energy vs. Hydration vs. Pre-Workout), while tracking total caffeine and mineral intake based on training load, sweating and tolerance.

What’s the role of adaptogenic plants in Re-Lyte® Energy?
The formula includes plant extracts such as beetroot, ginseng, maca, Rhodiola rosea and ashwagandha. These ingredients draw on traditional use across cultures, often in the context of strain and performance.
In Re-Lyte® Energy, these plants are not the main “driver” of the effect; they support the core caffeine + electrolyte combination. This isn’t a dedicated adaptogen supplement, but part of a broader formula.

What do the B vitamins do in this product?
Re-Lyte® Energy contains vitamins B3, B6 and B12. These vitamins have EU authorised health claims linked to energy metabolism, reduction of fatigue and nervous system function.
Their role here is to support processes relevant during physical and mental strain, not to provide an immediate stimulant kick.

Is Re-Lyte® Energy suitable for keto, low-carb, or during fasting?
The product contains no sugar and no calories and is sweetened with steviol glycosides (Rebaudioside A). For that reason, it’s often used in keto and low-carb routines.
With fasting, it depends on how strict your personal rules are. From an energy and carbohydrate standpoint it’s not a caloric load, but the flavour stimulus can still matter for some.

Does Re-Lyte® Energy contain sugar, artificial sweeteners, or questionable additives?
Re-Lyte® Energy contains no sugar, no synthetic sweeteners and no common fillers. Sweetness comes from stevia leaf extract, with flavour supported by natural flavourings.
The base is electrolytes, and the formula is designed to avoid the typical profile of sweetened energy drinks.

Why does the formula include calcium carbonate?
Calcium is included as calcium carbonate, and citric acid is present at the same time. This is a technical choice linked to how the mix behaves in water and the final drink experience.
This isn’t a standalone calcium supplement; it’s part of an electrolyte blend, where overall function and usability matter.

Is Re-Lyte® Energy suitable with histamine intolerance or allergies?
Re-Lyte® Energy contains no declared allergens and isn’t a source of histamine. Still, tolerance can be individual and depends on your broader routine.
If you have histamine intolerance or other sensitivities, start with a smaller amount and monitor your response. When in doubt, consult a qualified professional.

What are the small specks (particles) I might see in the powder?
With Re-Lyte® Energy, you may occasionally notice small specks or particles in the powder. This isn’t a defect or “damage” to the product; it’s a natural result of combining multiple ingredients with different textures and colours – such as minerals, plant extracts and other formula components.
In practice, that means the mix may not look perfectly “uniform” like a pure lab powder. If you store the product properly – sealed and dry – minor visual variation is normal and doesn’t indicate lower quality.

Redmond is an American brand built around simple, clean and minimally processed ingredients. Its story began in 1958 in central Utah, where brothers Milo and Lamar Bosshardt began working an underground deposit of ancient sea salt. This is the source of Real Salt® – an unrefined salt that became the foundation of Redmond’s present-day range.
The original business grew into a brand with a history rooted in two mineral resources from Utah – ancient sea salt and bentonite clay formed from ancient volcanic ash. Real Salt® and Redmond Clay® were gradually joined by Re-Lyte® electrolytes, Seasonings, Earthpaste® oral care and the newer Roots and Leaf ranges. Each category has a different use, but they share an emphasis on traceable ingredient origins, simple formulations and fewer unnecessary additives.
What Redmond products are known for:
- Its own salt source in Utah – Real Salt® comes from an underground deposit of ancient sea salt rather than being produced by evaporating water from modern oceans.
- Minimal processing – Real Salt® is mined, crushed and graded by grain size without industrial refining or bleaching.
- Transparency – Redmond makes the mineral analyses for Real Salt® and Redmond Clay® publicly available, along with documentation for selected certifications.
- Simple formulations – the focus on simple, easy-to-understand ingredients extends across electrolytes, seasonings, protein nutrition and personal care.
Who is behind Redmond
Redmond was founded in 1958 by brothers Milo and Lamar Bosshardt, farmers from the town of Redmond in Utah. They knew about the salt beneath their land but initially had no reason to use it commercially. A period of drought changed this, prompting them to look for another way to provide financially for their families. The underground deposit then became the foundation of a new business.
The Bosshardt family developed the company over the following decades. In the early 1990s, Rhett Roberts joined the business, first as a consultant and then as general manager. He later bought Redmond and now serves as CEO of Redmond Inc. Under his leadership, the original business expanded into other areas. Roberts is also the founder of Redmond Heritage Farms, which develops the concept of traditional, minimally processed farm foods.
Brand vision
Redmond aims to create products and environments that encourage people to make more considered everyday choices. The brand bases its approach on four areas: Real Ingredients, Elevated Human Experience, Intentional Living and Ongoing Evolution.
The first of these is directly reflected in its products. Redmond prioritises simple, clean and real ingredients and formulations that can be explained clearly. This principle has gradually extended from Real Salt® to electrolytes, seasonings, protein nutrition and personal care.
Intentional Living takes a broader view of everyday life: thinking consciously about what you use, what you eat and the habits you develop. Ongoing Evolution reflects the brand’s willingness to keep learning and improving both its products and the way it operates.
This approach also includes specific environmental and community initiatives. The Redmond Life Green Team works on areas such as reducing single-use plastics, cutting waste in shipping and developing recycling.

Brand mission
Redmond’s mission is to create products and experiences that encourage people to live more intentionally. In practice, the brand links this approach primarily with simple, real ingredients, transparency and ongoing product improvement.
This philosophy is particularly clear in Real Salt®. The salt comes from Redmond’s own underground source in Utah and is neither industrially refined nor bleached. It therefore retains the natural mineral character of the original deposit.
Re-Lyte® brings the mineral base of Real Salt® into electrolyte hydration. Seasoning blends extend its culinary use, while the newer Roots and Earthpaste ranges show how Redmond applies the same philosophy to protein nutrition and personal care.
Redmond therefore does not define itself solely as a salt producer. Real Salt® remains its historical foundation, but the current range is connected by a broader principle: knowing the origin of key ingredients, using straightforward formulations and avoiding unnecessary processing.
What are Real Salt® and Re-Lyte®, and what do they offer?
Real Salt® is an unrefined salt mined from an underground deposit in Utah, USA. It is not produced by evaporating modern seawater and is neither chemically refined nor bleached after mining. Alongside sodium chloride, it naturally contains other mineral elements that contribute to its characteristic colour and taste.
According to the available analytical data, sodium chloride makes up approximately 91–96 % by weight of Real Salt®. Its mineral profile includes calcium, potassium, magnesium and iron, among others, and the manufacturer reports more than 60 naturally occurring trace elements.
From a nutritional perspective, however, Real Salt® should primarily be regarded as salt, and therefore a source of sodium and chloride. The presence of dozens of trace elements does not mean that a typical serving of salt provides nutritionally significant amounts of all these minerals.
Real Salt® also contains only naturally occurring trace amounts of iodine. It is therefore not equivalent to iodised salt where salt is intended to provide a significant source of iodine in the diet.
Re-Lyte® is an electrolyte range based on the mineral foundation of Real Salt®. The current range includes several formulations for different uses, so it is important to check the ingredients of the specific variant.
The core Re-Lyte® Hydration formula is for replenishing electrolytes, for example during physical activity and heavier sweating. The formula combines sodium with other electrolytes; for magnesium, the manufacturer uses malate and bisglycinate.
For customers monitoring their carbohydrate intake, an important feature is the no added sugar formulation. Individual flavours and variants may differ, however, so it is worth checking the current label for the specific product.
Real Salt® and Re-Lyte® therefore serve different roles: the former is primarily a culinary salt, while the latter is a purposefully formulated electrolyte blend.
Redmond certifications and quality
Redmond’s quality control is based on knowing the origin of its key mineral resources and publishing analytical documentation. The manufacturer provides separate mineral analyses for Real Salt® and Redmond Clay®, along with other documents relating to safety and certifications. This transparency matters for natural mineral materials because it provides specific measured values rather than general claims about purity.
Real Salt® is OMRI Listed, allowing it to be used in certified organic production or food processing under the USDA National Organic Program rules. Redmond also publishes documentation for its Kosher certification. With the newer Roots range, the manufacturer has extended independent verification to protein nutrition: Roots Protein has received Informed Protein and Informed Choice certifications, covering verification of declared protein content, manufacturing standards and testing for banned substances.
Why choose Redmond: quality, purity, verified safety

The natural mineral profile of Real Salt®
Real Salt® comes from an underground deposit in central Utah, rather than from a modern ocean. Its origin is therefore fundamentally different from salts produced by evaporating present-day seawater.
After mining, the salt is mechanically processed and graded by crystal size. Redmond offers it in forms ranging from very fine through standard cooking salt to coarse crystals and Kosher Salt. The base ingredient is neither chemically refined nor bleached.
Real Salt® is therefore not perfectly white. Individual crystals may have pink, reddish or other natural tones associated with the mineral composition of the deposit.
What makes the difference
A practical distinction of Redmond’s own underground source is the traceable origin of the key ingredient. Real Salt® is directly linked to a specific deposit in Utah, and Redmond publishes its elemental analysis.
The same unrefined salt is available in several grain sizes depending on whether you need it for everyday cooking, baking, seasoning finished dishes or using in a grinder. Real Salt® also forms the basis of seasoning blends and other culinary products.
For electrolyte hydration, the brand has a separate Re-Lyte® range that combines sodium with other electrolytes. Real Salt® itself should therefore not automatically be treated as a complete electrolyte blend.
What makes Redmond products different
Redmond’s main distinction lies in combining long-standing experience with its own mineral resources and gradual expansion into other categories without moving away from the principle of simple, straightforward formulations.
Real Salt® is the original foundation of the brand. Re-Lyte® uses it in electrolyte products, while Seasonings extend its culinary use into seasoning blends. Redmond Clay® uses bentonite clay, and Earthpaste® incorporates it into oral care.
The range has gradually expanded to include Roots and Leaf. Roots Protein offers protein nutrition based on whey protein and a simple formulation, while Leaf develops the area of everyday personal care.
Another distinct part of the Redmond story is Redmond Clay®. This natural bentonite clay, also known as montmorillonite, is mined by the brand from its own deposit near its salt mine by Redmond, Utah. Its origins lie in ancient volcanic activity in the area: the material formed through the weathering of volcanic ash deposited millions of years ago. Redmond states that the local clay naturally contains both calcium and sodium, along with other trace mineral elements.
Bentonite clay appears not only as standalone Redmond Clay®, but also in other products from the brand. It is, for example, one of the core mineral ingredients in Earthpaste® oral care, while Redmond also draws on its experience with salt and clay in the newer Leaf range. Salt and bentonite clay are therefore the two original mineral resources from which Redmond’s broader present-day range has gradually developed.
