Limeade: bright citrus with a salty finish
Lemon and lime give Energy Limeade its bright, tangy citrus flavour. Stevia adds sweetness, while the unmistakable taste of Real Salt® remains part of the drink. The result is the sweet-salty character of Re-Lyte® with a citrus flavour.
Rebaudioside A from stevia supplies sweetness; citric acid adds tartness. The natural flavourings include lemon and lime, with a trace of non-GMO corn maltodextrin as a flavour carrier.
Adjust the water to suit your taste. Start with 400–475 ml of cold water per dose. More water softens the saltiness, sweetness and acidity. A single-dose sachet lets you try the flavour before choosing the 45-dose tub.
Where the minerals come from
Real Salt® comes from an ancient underground sea-salt deposit in Utah. Unrefined salt retains naturally occurring mineral particles of different colours and sizes. Some do not dissolve in water, so a little sediment may remain in the drink.
Magnesium glycinate and magnesium malate supply 40 mg of magnesium per dose. Potassium is added as citrate, supplying 350 mg. These mineral ingredients are added separately from the Real Salt®.
Purified pharmaceutical-grade calcium carbonate supplies the calcium. It replaced calcium lactate in the current formulation to improve mixing. Each dose contains 55 mg of calcium itself.
The citric acid in flavoured Re-Lyte® is produced by fermenting cassava. It is then purified and checked for contaminants, with further checks after the ingredients are mixed.
B vitamins and botanical ingredients
Alongside minerals and green tea caffeine, Energy includes niacin and vitamins B6 and B12, which contribute to normal energy-yielding metabolism and the reduction of tiredness and fatigue. The botanical ingredients are four root extracts and ashwagandha root, each at 10 mg per dose.
Beetroot
Beetroot extract, 10 mg per dose. This is an extract rather than a beetroot juice drink.
Panax ginseng

Do not store the prepared drink in cast iron or unprotected mild steel, which can corrode in contact with salt and water. Glass is another option.
Is Energy powder the same as Energy Boost capsules?
No. Re-Lyte® Energy Mix and Energy Boost capsules have different ingredients and dosage instructions. This powder contains 120 mg caffeine per dose, vitamins B3, B6 and B12, and five botanical ingredients. The capsules differ in caffeine, mineral amounts and other ingredients, so one scoop cannot be converted into a capsule count.
What is the difference between Energy and Hydration?
Hydration is a caffeine-free electrolyte range. Energy adds 120 mg caffeine from green tea, B vitamins and botanical ingredients. The mineral amounts differ too: Energy supplies 500 mg sodium, 350 mg potassium, 40 mg magnesium and 55 mg calcium per dose.
How does Energy differ from Pre-Workout?
Energy can be used during the day, rather than only before exercise. Pre-Workout is a separate pre-exercise formulation with different amounts of caffeine, minerals and other ingredients. Check the ingredients and directions for the specific product; the two powders are not interchangeable.
How much caffeine is in a sachet or scoop?

Can I use two scoops at once?

Does Energy contain sugar or artificial sweeteners?

Is there maltodextrin in the natural flavourings?

Why are there sometimes particles in the drink?
Unrefined Real Salt® has naturally occurring mineral particles of different colours and sizes. Some are insoluble and may settle at the bottom. Stir or shake the drink again before drinking.
What changed when Re-Lyte® Boost became Energy?
Re-Lyte® Energy is the newer name for Boost. The packaging and flavour were updated, and calcium carbonate replaced calcium lactate to improve mixing. The citrus flavour was also renamed from Lemon Lime to Limeade.
Is Energy suitable for children, pregnant or breastfeeding women?

Who is behind Redmond
Redmond was founded in 1958 by brothers Milo and Lamar Bosshardt, farmers from the town of Redmond in Utah. They knew about the salt beneath their land but initially had no reason to use it commercially. A period of drought changed this, prompting them to look for another way to provide financially for their families. The underground deposit then became the foundation of a new business.
The Bosshardt family developed the company over the following decades. In the early 1990s, Rhett Roberts joined the business, first as a consultant and then as general manager. He later bought Redmond and now serves as CEO of Redmond Inc. Under his leadership, the original business expanded into other areas. Roberts is also the founder of Redmond Heritage Farms, which develops the concept of traditional, minimally processed farm foods.
Brand vision

What are Real Salt® and Re-Lyte®, and what do they offer?
Real Salt® is an unrefined salt mined from an underground deposit in Utah, USA. It is not produced by evaporating modern seawater and is neither chemically refined nor bleached after mining. Alongside sodium chloride, it naturally contains other mineral elements that contribute to its characteristic colour and taste.
According to the available analytical data, sodium chloride makes up approximately 91–96 % by weight of Real Salt®. Its mineral profile includes calcium, potassium, magnesium and iron, among others, and the manufacturer reports more than 60 naturally occurring trace elements.
From a nutritional perspective, however, Real Salt® should primarily be regarded as salt, and therefore a source of sodium and chloride. The presence of dozens of trace elements does not mean that a typical serving of salt provides nutritionally significant amounts of all these minerals.
Real Salt® also contains only naturally occurring trace amounts of iodine. It is therefore not equivalent to iodised salt where salt is intended to provide a significant source of iodine in the diet.
Re-Lyte® is an electrolyte range based on the mineral foundation of Real Salt®. The current range includes several formulations for different uses, so it is important to check the ingredients of the specific variant.
The core Re-Lyte® Hydration formula is for replenishing electrolytes, for example during physical activity and heavier sweating. The formula combines sodium with other electrolytes; for magnesium, the manufacturer uses malate and bisglycinate.

The same unrefined salt is available in several grain sizes depending on whether you need it for everyday cooking, baking, seasoning finished dishes or using in a grinder. Real Salt® also forms the basis of seasoning blends and other culinary products.
For electrolyte hydration, the brand has a separate Re-Lyte® range that combines sodium with other electrolytes. Real Salt® itself should therefore not automatically be treated as a complete electrolyte blend.

This natural bentonite clay, also known as montmorillonite, is mined by the brand from its own deposit near its salt mine by Redmond, Utah. Its origins lie in ancient volcanic activity in the area: the material formed through the weathering of volcanic ash deposited millions of years ago. Redmond states that the local clay naturally contains both calcium and sodium, along with other trace mineral elements.
Bentonite clay appears not only as standalone Redmond Clay®, but also in other products from the brand. It is, for example, one of the core mineral ingredients in Earthpaste® oral care, while Redmond also draws on its experience with salt and clay in the newer Leaf range. Salt and bentonite clay are therefore the two original mineral resources from which Redmond’s broader present-day range has gradually developed.
