Thyme Honey (Geusi Vounou, 450 g)

Geusi Vounou Organic Thyme Honey is made from the nectar of thyme flowers in Greek regions where this distinctly aromatic herb grows naturally. It has a golden colour, fuller sweet flavour and a clear floral, herbal aroma.

Its flavour is more pronounced than that of a mild multifloral honey, so it works well in dishes where the honey should remain noticeable. Pair it with Greek yoghurt, fruit, porridge, toast, fresh and mature cheeses, nuts and baked desserts.

The thyme profile also works in savoury cooking. The honey balances the acidity of vinegar or lemon juice in dressings and complements marinades for roasted vegetables, poultry or cheese.

How to use

  • Breakfast – add it to yoghurt, porridge, quark or bread and pastries, then serve with fruit or nuts.
  • Drinks – stir it into tea or a herbal infusion once the drink has partly cooled.
  • Cheese and desserts – serve with fresh goat’s cheese, feta, hard cheese, fruit or baked desserts.
  • Dressings and marinades – mix it with vinegar, lemon juice, olive oil and seasoning.

Start with a smaller amount when using it for the first time, as the herbal aroma is more pronounced than in standard blossom honey. Crystallisation is a natural characteristic of honey.

Thyme Honey – Main Benefits

  • Monofloral honey – the honey’s character comes primarily from the nectar of thyme flowers.
  • Pronounced herbal aroma – its flavour remains more noticeable in food than that of milder multifloral honeys.
  • Golden colour – its typical appearance ranges from light to amber blossom honey.
  • Fuller flavour – pairs well with yoghurt, fruit, bread and pastries, porridge, cheese and nuts.
  • Sweet and savoury cooking – use it in desserts, baking, salad dressings and marinades.
  • Pairs well with cheese – the herbal profile complements fresh goat’s cheese, feta and more mature varieties.
  • Certified organic status – the official product range lists it as organic honey.
  • 450 g pack – the size suits regular use.

Thyme honey suits customers who prefer a more pronounced blossom honey with a herbal character. It works best in simple pairings where its own aroma remains distinct.
