Planet Paleo Beef Gelatin

Bovine gelatin is a hydrolysate of collagen that is extracted from the cartilage, tissues and joints of animals (tendons, cartilage, joints and skin) through a long cooking process. Collagen is gradually converted to gluten by cooking in the form of a thick mass of gel consistency. This ingredient is a very effective source of energy and nutrients.

The resulting gel mass is dried and finely crushed after cooking to obtain dried beef gelatine for further food use. It is labeled E-441 and is essential in the production of confectionery, cakes, sweets, gummy candies, marmalades, aspic, etc.

In addition to a large amount of proteins, fats, carbohydrates and vitamins, beef gelatin also contains many mineral elements such as potassium, magnesium, calcium, phosphorus, iron. The amino acids contained in collagen hydrolysate are a natural part of skin, hair, nails, bones, connective tissue and articular cartilage.

Hydrolysed collagen contains 20 amino acids, mainly glycine, proline and hydroxyproline, and these amino acids represent about 50% of the total amino acid content of hydrolysed collagen.

Other amino acids contained include the well-known Arginine (see ad for increased sex drive, muscle growth), and Alanine (a source of rich protein) and other essential amino acids.

Dosage

Gelatin:

• Stir approximately 10 g* of dried gelatine into 600 ml of hot fruit juice until dissolved.
• Pour the resulting liquid into a glass bowl and let it cool before storing it in the fridge, where it solidifies perfectly.

* Because Planet Paleo saves nature, they have done away with plastic measuring cups inside the packaging.

* As a general rule of thumb, 1 aligned tablespoon is equivalent to about 15 g of protein.

* For accurate dosing, weigh your dose first or use a measuring cup from another product.

Thickening:

• Add 1 full teaspoon to stews, sauces or soups.
• The ratio is about 1 teaspoon per 300 ml of liquid or by eye.

• One tablespoon (10 g) of this gelatin contains 9.1 g of protein.
