Quercetin capsules: Japanese pagoda tree extract with zinc and vitamins
Why don't we describe health benefits for quercetin itself? We do not have an authorised health claim for quercetin that we can use on this page. Instead, we explain the permitted functions of the zinc and vitamins B1 and D in this formula. Our FAQs explain the difference between research findings and authorised claims.
Quercetin is a plant flavonoid; L Cell sources it from Japanese pagoda tree extract. The formula also contains zinc and vitamins B1 and D3. Zinc contributes to the protection of cells from oxidative stress, while zinc and vitamin D contribute to the normal function of the immune system. Vitamin B1 contributes to the normal function of the heart and nervous system.
Who might prefer capsules?
- Anyone who wants a pre-measured amount. Swallow the capsules with water; there is no powder to measure.
- Vegans and vegetarians. L Cell identifies these capsules as vegan. Their shell is made from hypromellose (HPMC), rather than gelatine.
Take two capsules daily with breakfast and swallow with water. There is no mixing or preparation required. See how to use and our FAQs for more details.
A daily dose contains 525 mg of Japanese pagoda tree extract, providing 500 mg of quercetin. The total extract weight and its quercetin content are different measurements. Zinc and vitamins are listed separately.
Approximately 30 days per pack at the recommended two capsules daily.
Important information
- Do not exceed the recommended daily dose.
- Food supplements should not replace a varied diet. A varied, balanced diet and a healthy lifestyle are important for good health.
- Keep out of the reach of young children.
- If you take medication, are pregnant or breastfeeding, speak to your doctor or pharmacist before use. Show them the full ingredient list and details of any other supplements you take.
What makes the capsule format different?
Compare the preparation, daily dose and number of days per pack. Pack weight or capsule count alone won't tell you how two products differ.
- Japanese pagoda tree. The botanical source of the extract in this formula.
- 525 mg of extract, providing 500 mg of quercetin. In two capsules: the full daily dose.
- Zinc. Contributes to the protection of cells from oxidative stress.
- Vitamin B1. Contributes to the normal function of the heart and nervous system.
- Vitamin D. Contributes to the normal function of the immune system.
- Pre-measured contents. Take two capsules with breakfast and swallow with water.
- HPMC shell. Hypromellose capsules contain no gelatine.
- Approximately 30 days per pack. At the recommended daily dose.
- Independent laboratory testing. Check which sample was tested and what the report actually covers.
Prefer an alternative to swallowing capsules? Explore quercetin powder, which mixes into food. The 30 g pack lasts approximately 55–60 days when taken as directed, compared with around 30 days for the capsules.
What is quercetin, and where does this extract come from?
Quercetin is a flavonol, a type of plant flavonoid. It occurs naturally in foods such as apples and onions. This supplement uses Japanese pagoda tree, botanically known as Sophora japonica, as its source.
An extract is a material obtained from a plant. Here, the daily dose contains 525 mg of extract, of which 500 mg is quercetin. One figure measures the entire extract; the other measures a particular substance within it.
This is not 525 mg of quercetin alone. Equally, the 500 mg figure does not represent the weight of every ingredient in the finished supplement. Zinc and vitamins B1 and D3 have their own entries in the table.
When comparing supplements, look at the amount of quercetin in the recommended daily dose, rather than just the largest number beside the extract name. The amount present does not, by itself, tell you how much will be absorbed or guarantee a health outcome.

How do different quercetin formulas compare?
Looking for quercetin with vitamin C and bromelain? Compare Naturtreu's BlüteZeit complex. Alongside quercetin, it contains vitamin C and bromelain, an enzyme obtained from pineapple. L Cell pairs its extract with zinc and vitamins B1 and D3. The difference is therefore in the accompanying ingredients, as well as the brand.
Before choosing, check the full ingredient list, amounts per daily dose and number of doses per pack. For a different way to take the same L Cell formula, compare the powder and capsules. For a different combination of ingredients, compare the complete formulas: a shared ingredient does not make two supplements interchangeable.
Why does the formula include zinc and vitamins B1 and D3?
- Quercetin is the botanical component; the added vitamins and mineral have their own authorised functions. Zinc contributes to the protection of cells from oxidative stress. Both zinc and vitamin D contribute to the normal function of the immune system.
- Vitamin B1 contributes to the normal function of the heart and nervous system. It also contributes to normal energy-yielding metabolism. These functions belong to vitamin B1; they cannot automatically be attributed to quercetin.
- Vitamin D: bones and muscles. It contributes to the maintenance of normal bones and normal muscle function. This formula uses vitamin D3. These functions belong to vitamin D and cannot automatically be attributed to the supplement’s main ingredient.
- A daily dose provides 1.5 mg of zinc, 0.165 mg of vitamin B1 and 0.75 µg of vitamin D3. Each supplies 15% of its nutrient reference value (NRV). Reference values differ between nutrients, so an identical percentage does not mean an identical weight.
- The table shows two capsules: the full recommended daily dose. One capsule provides half the listed amounts. Include zinc and vitamins from any other supplements when checking your total intake.
- If zinc is your main reason for choosing a supplement, explore our zinc supplements too. These allow you to compare the mineral's form and amount directly; the principal ingredient here is a quercetin-containing plant extract. This is a way to choose a suitable formula, rather than a recommendation to add more zinc.
Biohacking: food, movement and daily habits
Biohacking uses science, technology and changes to everyday habits to explore how the body and mind function. It can include adjustments to diet, sleep and exercise, meditation, breathing exercises or tracking selected measurements. Supplements are only one part of that wider picture.
What does biohacking involve?
- Food: a varied diet, regular eating habits and an understanding of nutrient intake.
- Sleep and rest: keeping track of sleep duration, bedtimes and time to rest during the day.
- Movement: regular activity that suits your fitness and circumstances.
- Tracking: a diary, app or wearable device to record habits and how they change.
Keeping a record helps you see what has changed in your routine. Alter your diet, exercise and several supplements at once, and it becomes harder to identify what made a difference. Consistency and a clear record of what you take are useful starting points.
Where do supplements fit in?
Compare ingredients, quantities and directions, rather than relying on a product name alone. With L Cell supplements, look at the main ingredients, added vitamins and minerals, powder or capsule format, and laboratory documentation. A varied, balanced diet and a healthy lifestyle remain the foundation.
PraveBio also stocks brands with different specialisms. NoordCode offers functional foods and supplements, including MCT oils, collagen and electrolytes.
Jigsaw Health is an American family business founded in 2005 by Pat Sullivan and his son, Patrick Sullivan Jr. Magnesium and other mineral supplements feature prominently in its range.
BiOptimizers makes food supplements, including enzyme formulas such as the MassZymes digestive enzyme range. Each brand and product has its own composition, so compare the specific formula you are considering.

L Cell: its own laboratory and independent checks
L Cell develops and manufactures food supplements. The brand identifies its own laboratory in Vilnius, Lithuania, as the place where its formulas are made. That gives customers a traceable production location and a clearer picture of the company behind the range.
The range includes glycine with NAC, botanical extracts containing quercetin or resveratrol, and mineral supplements. Many products come as both powders and capsules. Choose the format that suits your routine, while checking the specific ingredients and daily dose for each pack.
Independent laboratories regularly check declared content and unwanted substances, including heavy metals and mycotoxins. Content testing measures the substances analysed; contaminant testing looks for unwanted impurities. Results apply to the sample and tests identified in the laboratory report.
The brand’s documentation also includes GMP and ISO 22000:2018 certificates issued to Longevita Lab and H Drop B.V. Their stated scope covers the development and sale of food supplements and snack foods. They document defined procedures and management systems; ingredient quantities require separate analytical testing.
In-house development and manufacture
L Cell identifies its own Vilnius laboratory as the site where it develops and makes supplements. You can trace the range beyond the brand name to a specific production location.
Powders or capsules
Many formulas are available in both formats. Choose between mixing into a drink and swallowing capsules, then check each ingredient amount against the recommended daily dose for that particular product.
Independent laboratory testing
Analysis covers declared ingredients and unwanted impurities. The report identifies what was measured and which sample was tested, giving you specific information about the material examined.
GMP and ISO 22000:2018
The published certificates cover the stated scope of development and sales. ISO 22000:2018 concerns food safety management systems; a laboratory analysis provides the separate evidence for ingredient quantities in a tested product.

Quercetin capsule FAQs
Why aren't health benefits listed for quercetin itself?
A research paper and an authorised health claim serve different purposes. Research examines substances under specific conditions. A claim used to sell a food must meet EU rules; the existence of a study alone does not authorise its use.
We do not have an authorised claim for quercetin itself that we can use on this page. We therefore explain its source, the amount in the formula and how to take it. For zinc and vitamins B1 and D, we describe their permitted functions where the conditions are met. Those benefits belong to the individual nutrients and cannot automatically be extended to quercetin or the entire combination.

Does a daily dose contain 525 mg or 500 mg of quercetin?
The full daily dose contains 525 mg of Japanese pagoda tree extract, providing 500 mg of quercetin. The 525 mg figure refers to the extract; 500 mg is the quercetin within it. These are not two separate amounts to add together.
The table therefore lists quercetin beneath the extract as part of it. Zinc and vitamins B1 and D3 are listed separately. When comparing supplements, check whether the amount on the label refers to an extract, a particular substance or the whole blend.

What is quercetin, and why is Japanese pagoda tree listed?
Quercetin is a flavonol within the wider flavonoid family. It occurs in various foods, but this product uses Japanese pagoda tree extract (Sophora japonica). The botanical name identifies the source, rather than another ingredient added alongside quercetin.
For the actual amount, check the product label. The weight of an apple or onion, or a cup of tea, cannot tell you an equivalent dose of this extract. Follow the supplement's own directions.

When should I take quercetin, and how long does the pack last?
Take two capsules daily with breakfast and swallow with water. The table shows the complete daily dose. One capsule provides half the listed quantities.
The pack lasts approximately 30 days when taken as directed. Compare prices per daily dose: a powder's pack weight and a capsule count are not directly comparable.

What is the capsule shell made from, and does it contain gelatine?
The shell is hypromellose, also known as HPMC, and contains no gelatine. L Cell identifies these capsules as vegan. HPMC forms the shell; it is not an additional quantity of quercetin.
The plant extract, zinc and vitamins are inside the capsule and listed in the ingredient table. Distinguish the shell material from the amounts of these ingredients.

Can I open the capsules and mix the contents into food?
The directions are to swallow the capsules with water. Opening them is not part of the stated method of use.
For mixing into food, choose quercetin powder, which comes with its own scoop. When changing formats, compare the recommended doses and ingredients; do not convert a capsule count into an arbitrary kitchen spoonful.

Should I choose powder or capsules?
Powder needs measuring and mixing into food; capsules contain a pre-measured amount. For these two L Cell products, the recommended daily dose provides the same declared amounts: 525 mg of extract, including 500 mg of quercetin, plus zinc and vitamins.
Pack size and preparation differ. The powder lasts approximately 55–60 days at the recommended dose, compared with 30 days for the capsules. See the powder option and choose the format that suits you.

Why are zinc and vitamins B1 and D3 included?
These vitamins and mineral have their own authorised functions. Zinc contributes to the protection of cells from oxidative stress. Zinc and vitamin D contribute to the normal function of the immune system, while vitamin B1 contributes to the normal function of the heart and nervous system.
The full daily dose supplies 15% NRV for each of these nutrients. This explains their contribution to the formula; it does not establish that they multiply quercetin's effects. Include the same nutrients from any other supplements when checking your intake.

Can I take quercetin alongside medication?
Speak to your doctor or pharmacist before you start. L Cell warns of possible interactions with medicines. Advice depends on the particular medicine, its dose and the complete supplement formula; there is no single recommendation for every combination.
Show them the label and a list of any other supplements you take. Do not alter prescribed treatment because of a supplement. Seek individual medical advice during pregnancy or breastfeeding too.

How should I store quercetin?
Keep it in a cool, dry, dark place, out of the reach of young children. Close the container after each use and protect it from moisture.
For powder, use a dry scoop; for capsules, avoid leaving the container open while preparing food. Check your pack for its best-before date and any additional instructions, rather than assuming another product's storage period applies.

L Cell is a Lithuanian food supplement brand with its own laboratory in Vilnius. Its range includes botanical extracts, amino acids and mineral supplements, with many products available as both powders and capsules.
Pravé Bio is the exclusive L Cell distributor for the Czech Republic. Our product pages set out the ingredients, quantities per daily dose, directions and available laboratory documents, so you can compare the details of each pack. Read about the maker and its documentation here, or explore the L Cell supplement range to choose a product.

Inside L Cell’s Vilnius lab
- Developed in-house. L Cell develops and manufactures its supplements in its own laboratory in Vilnius, Lithuania.
- Independently tested. The brand regularly commissions checks on declared ingredient content and unwanted substances. Available reports sit alongside the relevant products.
- The full ingredient picture. Our product tables distinguish the main compound from its botanical extract, with added zinc and vitamins listed separately.
- Powder or capsules. Many products come in both formats. Each has its own ingredient quantities, directions and pack size, so you can compare the details before choosing.
Where L Cell supplements are made
Product development and manufacturing in Vilnius are part of L Cell’s own operation. The brand publishes its laboratory address and information about product testing; each supplement still needs to be considered individually.
The range includes GlyNAC with glycine and NAC, botanical extracts such as apigenin and resveratrol, and magnesium supplements. These are different ingredients, with distinct compositions and directions.
Research into an ingredient does not establish the effects of every supplement containing it. Our descriptions distinguish ingredient information from health claims applicable to a particular nutrient and dose.
Pravé Bio and L Cell
Pravé Bio, NUZBOZ s.r.o., is L Cell’s exclusive distributor for the Czech Republic. Our shop carries individual L Cell product ranges and their available formats.
We check ingredient identity, quantities and the full ingredient list. For botanical extracts, we distinguish the weight of the extract from the amount of the specified compound within it.
Powders and capsules from the same range may differ. For example, GlyNAC powder and the capsule version have different glycine-to-NAC ratios; the individual product tables show those differences.
Match your question to the exact product. When comparing options, use the product name, format and pack size. For a laboratory report, also check the sample or batch identification.

Laboratory testing and certificates
Ingredient testing and contaminant testing answer different questions. One measures the amount of an analysed ingredient; the other checks for unwanted substances such as heavy metals. The brand’s documentation includes GMP and ISO 22000:2018 certificates issued to Longevita Lab and H Drop B.V. Their stated scope covers the development and sale of food supplements and food snacks.
A management-system certificate does not replace a product analysis. A laboratory result applies to the identified sample, measured substances and method. It does not establish rejuvenation or another health outcome.
Compare like with like: the main ingredient, its amount per daily dose, the other ingredients and the number of doses in the pack.
