Who is behind Redmond
Redmond was founded in 1958 by brothers Milo and Lamar Bosshardt, farmers from the town of Redmond in Utah. Alongside sodium chloride, it naturally contains other mineral elements that contribute to its characteristic colour and taste.
According to the available analytical data, sodium chloride makes up approximately 91–96 % by weight of Real Salt®. Its mineral profile includes calcium, potassium, magnesium and iron, among others, and the manufacturer reports more than 60 naturally occurring trace elements.
From a nutritional perspective, however, Real Salt® should primarily be regarded as salt, and therefore a source of sodium and chloride. The presence of dozens of trace elements does not mean that a typical serving of salt provides nutritionally significant amounts of all these minerals.
