Why Primal Feast
At our store, we are big fans of small, independent entrepreneurs who take the path of honest organic produce and focus on one area of expertise or passion.
But we have to point out that we don't really care whether the brand is from the Czech Republic or Mars, we care about quality and the approach to production itself.
We are not national chauvinists, but global citizens who care about the principle of quality and an approach to ethical business, which means that our brands and their origins reflect that. If we don't have enough Czech brands on our shop, it's important to think about why and not complain that we simply don't support Czech manufacturing.
But Radek is a Moravian and, above all, a good person and a budding entrepreneur, so when he approached us to include his brand in the e-shop, there was little to think about. It also helped that he comes from not far from us and gets his meat from cattle that graze in the Moravian, Silesian and Bohemian mountains.
Radek and we believe that diet has an extraordinary impact on human health and is reflected in the overall experience of life. Our shared mission is to bring you the highest quality food in an easily accessible form. We want to make it easy for you to get the essential nutrients that are key to optimal functioning of the body and mind, especially in the hectic pace of today.
Radek places great importance on how the animals that provide the raw materials for his products live and what they consume. That is why he chooses only local organic farmers from the Czech Republic who are a kind of "organic cowboys", caring lovingly for their herds and allowing them to spend most of their lives grazing.
He feels that this way he achieves the optimum quality of raw materials and at the same time promotes an ethical approach to animal husbandry.
Who Radek is and what inspired him
Primal Feast was founded in late 2022, but its roots go back a year when I had the idea of making dietary supplements from beef organs while working on a beef pasture cattle farm.
I know from personal experience how significant an impact a plant-based diet can have on our health, and how important animal foods are. Yet I remain committed to the animals, the environment and want to eat what benefits me and enhances my health.
My "woke" view of nutrition has been most influenced by the work of Weston A. Price's Nutrition and Physical Degeneration, which is a fascinating testament to how diet affects proper development and health in humans.
With the advent of the popularity of the "Carnivore Diet" in 2020, I began to take plant-based antinutrients more seriously. By eliminating all plant foods, except for a little fruit, I was able to fully realize the positive effects of animal foods. As the saying goes, "red meat will kill you, but until then you'll feel great".
I am currently (2023) subscribing to an "Animal based diet" inspired by Paul Saladin. It's basically carnivore with the addition of easily digestible carbohydrates from fruit and honey. I'm looking for a balance between absorbable nutrients and minimal toxins from plant matter.
I consider organs to be an important part of the diet, and a concentrated source of nutrients. Some vitamins in them are up to 100 times more concentrated than in muscle meat. The tradition of eating organs was valued and respected in the past, but has been almost lost in modern society.
In our modern "Western" society we hardly eat organs, the tradition has been broken. It seems strange to us, we don't know how to prepare them, they have a strong taste that we are not used to. That's why we offer freeze-dried beef organs in supplement form, as an easy way to incorporate them into the diet for those who would not otherwise consume them or have the time to prepare them.
