Turtle Choco Balls – bio čokoládové cereální kuličky, balení 300 g
Organic

Why it’s Pravé Bio

Three wholegrains, real chocolate and two cocoa powders. Choco Balls contain wholegrain rice, corn and wheat flour and 4.8% chocolate. The chocolate contains cocoa mass, cocoa butter and natural vanilla extract, with cocoa powder and reduced-fat cocoa powder adding to the flavour.

We selected them for their wholegrain base and certified organic ingredients. They provide 7 g fibre and 8 g protein per 100 g. The grains and added oligofructose contribute fibre. No cooking is needed: serve with milk or yoghurt, or scatter over porridge.

They contain wheat and gluten and are not suitable for people with coeliac disease. They may also contain milk, soya and nuts. These are sweetened cereals with 19 g sugars per 100 g.

Turtle Choco Balls organic chocolate cereal, 300 g

Wholegrain cereal with chocolate and cocoa

  • Rice, corn and wheat: three wholegrain flours form the cereal base.
  • 4.8% chocolate: made with cocoa mass and cocoa butter, rather than chocolate flavouring alone.
  • Two cocoa powders: the recipe includes cocoa powder and reduced-fat cocoa powder.
  • 7 g fibre per 100 g: grain fibre is complemented by soluble oligofructose.
  • No palm oil: the cereal contains naturally occurring fats, totalling 4 g per 100 g.
  • Certified organic ingredients: identified by asterisks in the full ingredients list.

Choco Balls contain cane sugar, both on its own and in the chocolate. Serve with plain yoghurt or milk and fresh fruit.

BREAKFAST WITH TURTLE

Choco Balls yoghurt bowl with summer fruit

A no-cook breakfast for one. Strawberries, raspberries and apricot complement the chocolate; use other seasonal fruit when these are unavailable.

Ingredients

  • 150 g plain yoghurt or an unsweetened plant-based alternative
  • 30 g Turtle Choco Balls
  • 2–3 strawberries and a small handful of raspberries
  • 1 apricot, stone removed
  • A little milk or coconut milk, if needed
Turtle Choco Balls served with strawberries, raspberries and apricots

Method

  1. Wash the fruit, slice the strawberries and remove the apricot stone.
  2. Spoon the yoghurt into a bowl. Stir in a little milk or coconut milk if you prefer a thinner base.
  3. Arrange the fruit on top, then add the Choco Balls just before eating.
  4. Serve immediately. If preparing ahead, keep the cereal separate so it stays crisp.

With milk, yoghurt or dessert

Choco Balls are ready to eat. There is no need to cook or soak them. They soften gradually in milk or yoghurt, so add them at the last moment to keep their crunch.

  • With milk: pour over just before eating. Adjust the amount depending on whether you prefer more crunch or a softer bowl of cereal.
  • With a plant-based drink: choose an unsweetened option, such as coconut milk. Check every ingredient if following a particular diet. For a thicker coconut base, try Ceylon Kokonati coconut milk with 90% coconut flesh, thinned with water to taste.
  • With plain yoghurt: add fruit, then scatter the cereal over the top. A mild, unsweetened base lets the cocoa and chocolate flavours come through.
  • Over porridge: add a small handful to cooked porridge. Keep them out of the pan if you want a contrast between soft oats and crisp cereal.
  • In a layered dessert: combine with yoghurt or quark and fruit. Reserve some cereal for the top and add it at serving time; the layers inside will soften as the dessert chills.

Check the complete dish and its allergens. The cereal contains wheat and may contain other allergens. The absence of milk from the ingredients list is not a milk-free guarantee. Close the inner bag tightly, or transfer to an airtight container, and store dry. Follow the instructions on the pack.

The ingredients and what they do

Three wholegrain floursRice, corn and wheat make up the cereal base. Wholegrain flour retains the bran and germ; wheat also means that the cereal contains gluten.

Chocolate – 4.8%The chocolate contains cane sugar, cocoa mass, cocoa butter and natural vanilla extract. Its percentage is not the total cocoa content of the cereal.

Cocoa powdersTwo cocoa powders complement the chocolate, one of them reduced-fat. Their individual percentages are not given in the current ingredients list.

Cane sugarSweetens the cereal base and is also part of the chocolate. The finished cereal contains 19 g sugars per 100 g and is not a no-added-sugar product.

OligofructoseThis soluble fibre complements the fibre from the grains. The 7 g fibre per 100 g shown in the nutrition table is the total, not the amount of oligofructose alone.

Sunflower lecithin and saltLecithin acts as an emulsifier, while salt complements the flavour. Sunflower lecithin is not soya lecithin, but the possible presence of soya traces still matters.

Organic certification and allergens: separate checks

Organic status is backed by certification and controls. Control bodies check compliance with organic production rules. It is more than another word for “natural” or a brand’s own assessment.

Asterisks identify the certified ingredients: wholegrain flours, sugar, chocolate, cocoa, oligofructose and sunflower lecithin. The full list also breaks down the ingredients in the chocolate.

Organic food can contain sugar and gluten. Wheat is an ingredient in Choco Balls. Organic certification does not replace checking the recipe if you have coeliac disease or a food allergy.

Why are Choco Balls not gluten-free?

The wholegrain flour blend contains wheat, which contains gluten. This is an ingredient, rather than simply a warning about possible production traces.

Gluten-free labelling on another Turtle cereal does not apply to this product. Always check the particular recipe and pack.

Turtle: a Belgian organic breakfast specialist

Turtle – Belgian organic breakfast cerealsBreakfast favourites made with organic ingredients

Turtle has specialised in organic breakfasts since 2014. The Belgian brand makes porridges, granolas and cereals with certified organic ingredients. The range includes plain grain cereals and blends with cocoa, nuts and seeds.

The range includes wholegrain cereals, bran-rich flakes and granolas with pea protein and seeds. Some colourful cereals use plant concentrates.

Alongside sweetened cereals, Turtle offers recipes without added sugar.

Organic ingredients throughout

Certified agricultural ingredients include the grains and, where used, cocoa, nuts and seeds.

Grains, bran and seeds

Turtle uses oats, rye, rice and corn across its range. Some recipes also include bran, pea protein and seeds, giving each blend its own fibre, protein and sugar profile.

Checks on the gluten-free range

Products labelled gluten-free are regularly tested for levels below 20 mg/kg. The label does not cover the whole brand: other recipes may contain wheat or rye.

Cocoa, nuts and plant-based colours

Cocoa, nuts and seeds contribute their own flavours. Selected colourful cereals use concentrates from spirulina, fruit and vegetables, with the ingredients named on the pack.

The people behind Turtle and its journey to you

Laurence & Thilo – Turtle

Laurence and Thilo: breakfast, inspired by family life

  • Laurence is Belgian and grew up in Spain and Denmark; Thilo is German. They met in Belgium, where they later founded Turtle. Their different experiences of food helped shape a business devoted to breakfast.
  • Porridge came first, with more recipes following over time. Organic ingredients remained central to both the plain grain staples and the more playful cereals. The name Turtle comes from the fable of the tortoise and the hare.
  • A family project has grown into a team developing a wider choice of breakfasts. The first porridge went on sale in 2015, granolas followed in 2020 and a new cereal range arrived in 2021. Laurence and Thilo continue to work on the business together.
Jana Čevelová & Jan Zaoral – Pravé Bio

Pravé Bio: from meeting in Malmö to direct distribution

  • We met Laurence and Thilo at a trade fair in Malmö. Their ambition to make familiar cereals with organic ingredients appealed to us. They consider the whole recipe, from the grains to the ingredients that provide flavour and colour.
  • We value Turtle’s certified organic ingredients, plant extracts for colouring the marshmallows and a choice of recipes without added sugar. At Pravé Bio, you buy directly from Turtle’s importer and distributor for the Czech Republic and Slovakia.

Who is behind the Turtle brand

Behind the Turtle brand is a team of health food enthusiasts who believe that breakfast should not only be tasty, but also nutritious and made with respect for nature. Inspired by the simplicity and quality of traditional recipes, the brand founders decided to create a range of cereal products that combine pure organic ingredients, great taste and sustainability.

The aim was to offer an alternative to conventional breakfast products, which often contain unnecessary additives, refined sugar and artificial flavourings.

Turtle is based on the philosophy of "slow food", i.e . conscious eating with an emphasis on the quality of ingredients and their natural processing. The brand name symbolizes patience, honesty and consideration - values that are reflected not only in the products themselves, but also in the entire approach to production and business. As a result, Turtle has earned the trust of customers across Europe and is constantly expanding its range with new, innovative products that make breakfast a real treat.

Turtle brand vision

Turtle' s vision is clear - to deliver breakfasts that are not only delicious, but also healthy, nutritious and made with the planet in mind. They want to inspire people to better eating habits by offering products without unnecessary additives, refined sugar and chemicals.

Every step of production, from the careful selection of raw materials to eco-friendly packaging, reflects their commitment to sustainability and quality. At the same time, they emphasize an ethical approach to production and fair cooperation with suppliers who share their values.

Their goal is not only to produce quality products, but also to contribute to a positive change in the way people think about food and its impact on the world.

What inspires the founders

Turtle is a brand that embodies everything that goes into a great breakfast - simple, clean and delicious products. Their team focuses on creating innovative recipes and improving traditional breakfast dishes to make them healthier and more nutritious.

They were the first to market porridges, which gradually created a whole new segment in some European countries. They enrich classic recipes with modern elements and look for new ways to combine ingredients and discover new flavours.

Each Turtle product is designed with versatility in mind, but always with carefully selected organic ingredients that guarantee high quality, healthful ingredients and great taste.

How did this story begin?

The founders were looking for organic, no-sugar-added breakfast cereals - and couldn't find them. It was only pregnancy and the birth of our child that made us think even more deeply about what we actually eat and what we want to offer our family. At the time, both Thilo and Laurence were busy with work, but maternity leave proved to be just the right moment to launch Turtle - a brand that brings better breakfast alternatives to those looking for clean ingredients and real taste.

The name Turtle was chosen after the well-known story of the tortoise and the hare. While the hare pushes forward and tires quickly, the tortoise goes slowly but steadily - and eventually wins. It works the same way with the energy from whole grain oats, which is released gradually and gives the body a steady strength for the whole day.

Today, they are grateful to be able to share their love of breakfast with hundreds of thousands of you each month. They're always looking for new ways to bring you even better products and inspiration for breakfasts you'll love. Because a good day starts with a great breakfast - and they always want yours to be special.

Why does Turtle rely on organic farming?

All Turtle products come from organic farming, which is better for nature and human health. Unlike conventional production, it minimises the use of chemicals, promotes natural soil fertility and protects groundwater. As a result, bees can continue to pollinate, the landscape remains diverse and consumers can enjoy a breakfast free of unwanted toxins and pesticides.

Why Turtle chooses organic farming

  • It preserves soil fertility for future generations.
  • It protects the purity of drinking water.
  • Reduces the amount of pesticides and toxic substances in food.
  • It promotes biodiversity and contributes to the sustainability of the planet.
  • It does not contain any genetically modified (GM) ingredients.

From the very beginning, Turtle has held the BE-BIO-001 organic certification, confirming its commitment to sustainability and the highest quality.

Fair production and healthy food

Fair Trade Turtle

Fair Production: a responsibility that makes sense

Turtle is committed to sourcing ingredients in a fair and reasonable manner because it believes that quality products start with honest supplier relationships.

Proximity

  • They buy raw materials from farms close to their production facilities, which allows for a long-term and stable cooperation between farmers and producers.
  • This approach promotes not only the freshness of raw materials but also the sustainability of local communities.

Fair access

  • Every raw material is purchased in accordance with the high social standards set by organizations such as BSCI (Business Social Compliance Initiative), SA8000 (Social Accountability) and ILO (International Labour Organization).

All of Turtle' s suppliers are members of Sedex, which ensures fair living and working conditions for all those involved in growing cocoa, sugar cane and other ingredients that brands cannot grow directly in their area.

Healthy and nutritious food: start the day with energy that lasts

Breakfast should provide not only immediate energy, but also a long-lasting feeling of satiety and vitality. The right combination of macronutrients is the key to giving your brain and body everything they need to function optimally.

Reach for breakfast foods that contain a balance of carbohydrates, protein, healthy fats and fibre. Carbohydrates give you quick energy, while protein gives you a steady source of energy throughout the day.

Taste is the foundation of food enjoyment

This enjoyment has a positive effect on our health. It is scientifically proven that enjoying food supports digestion, improves the relationship with food and can help overcome problems such as eating disorders.

Therefore, it is not only important what you eat, but also how you eat it.

Sustainable packaging: Protecting freshness and being responsible for the planet

Turtle' s goal is to use packaging that preserves the freshness and taste of their products while minimizing the negative impact on the environment.

The cardboard boxes are made from 80% recycled fibres, and the outer packaging for transport is completely recyclable.

While plastic is not ideal, it is essential for preserving freshness and protecting against moisture, greatly reducing food waste. This plastic is recyclable, which means that by reusing it, the amount of new plastic can be reduced.

They use eco-friendly bubbles made from degradable vegetable starch to ship orders.
