EGCG green tea extract in powder form
Why do the stated benefits refer to the added nutrients? We do not have an authorised health claim for EGCG that we can use here. The health benefits described on this page therefore belong to zinc and vitamins B1 and D. Our FAQ explains the distinction between research and authorised claims.
EGCG is a catechin naturally present in green tea leaves. L Cell uses an extract containing at least 90% EGCG, with zinc and vitamins B1 and D3. The botanical source, concentration and additional ingredients are identified separately.
Zinc contributes to the protection of cells from oxidative stress and, alongside vitamin D, to normal immune function. Vitamin B1 contributes to normal energy-yielding metabolism and nervous system function. These benefits refer to the named nutrients; they should not automatically be attributed to EGCG.
Allow for the distinctly bitter taste when preparing the powder. Mix it into a small amount of water or another room-temperature drink that you will finish. Do not add it to hot tea. See How to use for the directions.
Each scoop contains 500 mg green tea extract, including 450 mg EGCG. EGCG is part of that extract: the two figures should not be added together. The product does not contain 500 mg of pure EGCG per scoop.
Our FAQs explain the ingredients, choice of format and laboratory documentation. This product is for adults only; observe the restrictions on green tea products and other supplements.
Dietary suitability
Important information
- Do not exceed the recommended daily dose.
- Food supplements should not replace a varied diet. A varied, balanced diet and a healthy lifestyle are important for good health.
- Keep out of the reach of young children.
- If you take medication, are pregnant or breastfeeding, speak to your doctor or pharmacist before use. Show them the full ingredient list and details of any other supplements you take.
Green tea extract restrictions
- Do not take on an empty stomach.
- Not for pregnant or breastfeeding women or anyone under 18.
- Do not consume if you are taking other products containing green tea on the same day.
- Do not consume 800 mg EGCG or more per day.
What makes the powder format different?
When comparing tea extracts, look at the source, concentration, actual EGCG content and complete ingredient list. Extract weight alone does not tell you how much EGCG a product contains.
- Green tea leaf extract. The botanical source is Camellia sinensis.
- At least 90% EGCG in the extract. Standardisation describes the proportion of this compound in the tea-derived ingredient.
- 500 mg extract, including 450 mg EGCG, per scoop. The figures distinguish the complete extract from one of its measured constituents.
- Zinc and vitamins B1 and D3. Separate entries show each nutrient amount and its percentage of the reference intake.
- 30 g pack with a measuring scoop. Measure the powder according to the directions.
- Laboratory documentation. Check the sample tested and the scope of the measurements recorded.
- Specific restrictions. Do not take the extract on an empty stomach or alongside other products containing green tea on the same day.
Prefer an option without mixing? Compare L Cell EGCG capsules, including the ingredients and directions for that format. Do not take both versions together.
What is EGCG, and how does it relate to green tea?
Green tea is made from the leaves of the tea plant (Camellia sinensis). The leaves naturally contain several groups of compounds, including polyphenols such as catechins, caffeine and the amino acid L‑theanine. EGCG, short for epigallocatechin-3-gallate, is one of those catechins. It is a specific compound rather than another name for green tea or everything found in its leaves.
Brewed tea and a standardised extract are different preparations. The composition of an infusion depends on the amount of leaf, water temperature and brewing time. Extract production separates selected compounds from the plant material and may further adjust their proportions. The EGCG content of this supplement therefore cannot reliably be expressed as a number of cups of tea.
At least 90% EGCG describes the concentration in the extract used. Each 100 mg of extract therefore provides at least 90 mg EGCG. This percentage refers to the ingredient; the complete formula also includes zinc and vitamins B1 and D3. The EGCG percentage alone does not tell you how much caffeine is present.

Green tea drops, EGCG or L‑theanine: what is the difference?
A liquid extract of tea leaves: Botanicals For Life organic green tea glycerin extract contains coconut-derived vegetable glycerine, purified water and leaf extract. The finished product is alcohol-free. The manufacturer specifies a 1:1 ratio, with 1 ml of extract equivalent to 1 g of dried leaves. This describes the amount of plant material used, rather than an EGCG percentage.
An extract with a stated EGCG concentration: L Cell specifies at least 90% EGCG in its extract and lists the extract and EGCG quantities separately per dose. The composition table lets you compare the amount of this particular compound. A 1:1 ratio and a 90% concentration describe different properties; they are not interchangeable measures of strength or a basis for converting drops into scoops or capsules.
L‑theanine is a different tea compound. If you are looking for that amino acid, see L Cell L‑theanine powder. EGCG is a catechin, whereas L‑theanine is an amino acid. Sharing a plant source does not make them interchangeable ingredients.
These links help you compare different formulas. Do not take this EGCG supplement on the same day as other products containing green tea.
Why include zinc and vitamins B1 and D3?
- The tea extract and added nutrients are identified separately. EGCG describes the principal tea compound; zinc and the vitamins have their own amounts and nutrient reference values.
- Zinc: 1.5 mg per scoop. Zinc contributes to the protection of cells from oxidative stress and to normal immune function.
- Vitamin D: bones and muscles. It contributes to the maintenance of normal bones and normal muscle function. This formula uses vitamin D3. These functions belong to vitamin D and cannot automatically be attributed to the supplement’s main ingredient.
- Vitamin B1: 0.165 mg per scoop. Thiamine contributes to normal energy-yielding metabolism and nervous system function.
- Vitamin D3: 0.75 µg per scoop. Vitamin D contributes to normal immune function.
- Each amount represents 15% of the nutrient reference value. This percentage helps you compare nutrient intake from foods and other supplements. It does not describe absorption or the strength of an effect.
- The presence of several ingredients does not, by itself, establish synergy or a stronger effect. Consider your total intake if you also take zinc or the same vitamins separately.
Biohacking: food, movement and daily habits
Biohacking uses science, technology and changes to everyday habits to explore how the body and mind function. It can include adjustments to diet, sleep and exercise, meditation, breathing exercises or tracking selected measurements. Supplements are only one part of that wider picture.
What does biohacking involve?
- Food: a varied diet, regular eating habits and an understanding of nutrient intake.
- Sleep and rest: keeping track of sleep duration, bedtimes and time to rest during the day.
- Movement: regular activity that suits your fitness and circumstances.
- Tracking: a diary, app or wearable device to record habits and how they change.
Keeping a record helps you see what has changed in your routine. Alter your diet, exercise and several supplements at once, and it becomes harder to identify what made a difference. Consistency and a clear record of what you take are useful starting points.
Where do supplements fit in?
Compare ingredients, quantities and directions, rather than relying on a product name alone. With L Cell supplements, look at the main ingredients, added vitamins and minerals, powder or capsule format, and laboratory documentation. A varied, balanced diet and a healthy lifestyle remain the foundation.
PraveBio also stocks brands with different specialisms. NoordCode offers functional foods and supplements, including MCT oils, collagen and electrolytes.
Jigsaw Health is an American family business founded in 2005 by Pat Sullivan and his son, Patrick Sullivan Jr. Magnesium and other mineral supplements feature prominently in its range.
BiOptimizers makes food supplements, including enzyme formulas such as the MassZymes digestive enzyme range. Each brand and product has its own composition, so compare the specific formula you are considering.

L Cell: its own laboratory and independent checks
L Cell develops and manufactures food supplements. The brand identifies its own laboratory in Vilnius, Lithuania, as the place where its formulas are made. That gives customers a traceable production location and a clearer picture of the company behind the range.
The range includes glycine with NAC, botanical extracts containing quercetin or resveratrol, and mineral supplements. Many products come as both powders and capsules. Choose the format that suits your routine, while checking the specific ingredients and daily dose for each pack.
Independent laboratories regularly check declared content and unwanted substances, including heavy metals and mycotoxins. Content testing measures the substances analysed; contaminant testing looks for unwanted impurities. Results apply to the sample and tests identified in the laboratory report.
The brand’s documentation also includes GMP and ISO 22000:2018 certificates issued to Longevita Lab and H Drop B.V. Their stated scope covers the development and sale of food supplements and snack foods. They document defined procedures and management systems; ingredient quantities require separate analytical testing.
In-house development and manufacture
L Cell identifies its own Vilnius laboratory as the site where it develops and makes supplements. You can trace the range beyond the brand name to a specific production location.
Powders or capsules
Many formulas are available in both formats. Choose between mixing into a drink and swallowing capsules, then check each ingredient amount against the recommended daily dose for that particular product.
Independent laboratory testing
Analysis covers declared ingredients and unwanted impurities. The report identifies what was measured and which sample was tested, giving you specific information about the material examined.
GMP and ISO 22000:2018
The published certificates cover the stated scope of development and sales. ISO 22000:2018 concerns food safety management systems; a laboratory analysis provides the separate evidence for ingredient quantities in a tested product.

EGCG questions, answered
Is EGCG the same as green tea?
EGCG is one of the catechins naturally present in tea leaves. This product contains a concentrated extract with a stated EGCG content, rather than leaves for brewing an ordinary infusion. Follow the directions and restrictions for the supplement.

Why do the stated benefits refer to the added nutrients rather than EGCG?
Research findings and authorised health claims serve different purposes. Studies investigate substances under specific conditions. Health claims used to sell foods must meet EU requirements; the existence of a study alone is not enough.
We do not have an authorised claim for EGCG that we can use here. We therefore explain its source, concentration within the extract and how to take it. Zinc and vitamins B1 and D have authorised functions that can be stated when the conditions of use are met. These belong to the named nutrients, rather than automatically applying to EGCG or the complete blend.

What do 500 mg extract and 450 mg EGCG mean?
The 450 mg EGCG is included within the 500 mg extract. Both figures refer to one scoop; they do not add up to 950 mg. When comparing products, check EGCG content as well as total extract weight.

Does 90% EGCG mean caffeine-free?
No. The concentration describes EGCG content, rather than caffeine content. A relevant specification or analysis is needed to establish whether caffeine is completely absent. The percentage alone does not justify a caffeine-free description.

How do I choose between powder and capsules?
Prefer an option without mixing? Compare L Cell EGCG capsules, including the ingredients and directions for that format. Do not take both versions together. Compare the complete ingredient lists and amounts per scoop or capsule. The format alone does not demonstrate better absorption or a stronger effect.

What does the powder taste like, and how should I mix it?
It is distinctly bitter. Use a small amount of water or another room-temperature drink that you will finish. Do not add the powder to hot tea. Mixing it differently does not change the stated dose or justify taking more.

Why should EGCG not be taken on an empty stomach?
Taking green tea extracts on an empty stomach can increase exposure to EGCG compared with taking them with food. For this safety reason, follow the directions to take the product with food and observe its restrictions. Do not add other products containing green tea on the same day.

What do the percentages for zinc and the vitamins describe?
They are percentages of nutrient reference values, which help you compare nutrient amounts. Each listed nutrient provides 15% NRV per scoop. These percentages do not describe EGCG concentration or the amount absorbed.

What do L Cell laboratory reports and certificates establish?
A report identifies the sample, measurements and results. The EGCG files include testing for heavy metals and mycotoxins. GMP and ISO 22000:2018 certificates document their stated scope of systems and procedures; they do not establish the EGCG content of every subsequent batch or a health benefit.

What if I take medicines or other supplements?
Speak to your doctor or pharmacist before use and show them the full ingredient list. Green tea extracts may interact with some medicines. Consider other sources of zinc and vitamins B1 and D too, and do not change prescribed treatment yourself.

Inside L Cell’s Vilnius lab
- Developed in-house. L Cell develops and manufactures its supplements in its own laboratory in Vilnius, Lithuania.
- Independently tested. The brand regularly commissions checks on declared ingredient content and unwanted substances. Available reports sit alongside the relevant products.
- The full ingredient picture. Our product tables distinguish the main compound from its botanical extract, with added zinc and vitamins listed separately.
- Powder or capsules. Many products come in both formats. Each has its own ingredient quantities, directions and pack size, so you can compare the details before choosing.
Where L Cell supplements are made
Product development and manufacturing in Vilnius are part of L Cell’s own operation. The brand publishes its laboratory address and information about product testing; each supplement still needs to be considered individually.
The range includes GlyNAC with glycine and NAC, botanical extracts such as apigenin and resveratrol, and magnesium supplements. These are different ingredients, with distinct compositions and directions.
Research into an ingredient does not establish the effects of every supplement containing it. Our descriptions distinguish ingredient information from health claims applicable to a particular nutrient and dose.
Pravé Bio and L Cell
Pravé Bio, NUZBOZ s.r.o., is L Cell’s exclusive distributor for the Czech Republic. Our shop carries individual L Cell product ranges and their available formats.
We check ingredient identity, quantities and the full ingredient list. For botanical extracts, we distinguish the weight of the extract from the amount of the specified compound within it.
Powders and capsules from the same range may differ. For example, GlyNAC powder and the capsule version have different glycine-to-NAC ratios; the individual product tables show those differences.
Match your question to the exact product. When comparing options, use the product name, format and pack size. For a laboratory report, also check the sample or batch identification.

Laboratory testing and certificates
Ingredient testing and contaminant testing answer different questions. One measures the amount of an analysed ingredient; the other checks for unwanted substances such as heavy metals. The brand’s documentation includes GMP and ISO 22000:2018 certificates issued to Longevita Lab and H Drop B.V. Their stated scope covers the development and sale of food supplements and food snacks.
A management-system certificate does not replace a product analysis. A laboratory result applies to the identified sample, measured substances and method. It does not establish rejuvenation or another health outcome.
Compare like with like: the main ingredient, its amount per daily dose, the other ingredients and the number of doses in the pack.
