How to Use the Color

Before coloring, we recommend thoroughly washing your hair with a silicone-free cleansing shampoo or using a so-called cleansing treatment before coloring. This helps remove residues of styling products, silicones, and mineral deposits from water, preparing the hair so that the natural color adheres better and catches evenly.

 

A great choice is, for example, It's Pure detoxifying hair treatment, which we recommend before each coloring.

 

Processing time depends on how intense a shade you want. Generally, the color is left on the hair for 2–5 hours. If you can, even overnight – this extends the effect. (Personal experience).

 

If coloring the entire length of the hair, we recommend first applying the paste to the roots and leaving it on for a longer time. Only then continue to the ends – this way, the color will catch evenly and more naturally.

Recommendations for Best Results

• Allow at least 5–6 weeks between chemical coloring and using natural color.
• Before first use, test the shade on a hidden strand, especially if you have previously bleached hair.
• If the color gets on the skin, it can be easily washed off. To be sure, we recommend applying Ultra Nourishing Balm from Odylique around the hairline before coloring. If you are vegan, we now offer its plant-based version, Ultra Rich V Balm.
• After coloring, use a gentle sulfate-free shampoo – it helps to maintain the color longer. We recommend brands Odylique, North American Herb & Spice or Soaply.
• Henna can slightly dry out – don't forget about a nourishing conditioner and regular hair treatment.

• Golden Blonde + Natural Brown → results in a warmer, richer golden tone, suitable for women with darker blonde or a higher proportion of gray hair. Add only small amounts to avoid significant darkening.

Yes, but it should be noted that henna will color gray hair lighter than the rest of the hair – most often to a copper or orange-red tone. If there is a lot of completely gray hair, the manufacturer recommends pre-pigmentation (pre-coloring) and always perform a strand test, as the resulting color depends on the original shade and porosity of the hair.

How long should the color be left on and what is its durability?

Apply the paste of powder and warm water to the hair, cover with a cap, and leave on for 30 minutes to 4 hours depending on the desired intensity; the color deepens slightly through oxidation for 48 hours after rinsing. Red henna shades are practically permanent – they remain most intense for 4 to 6 weeks, then gradually fade but do not completely disappear from the hair.
