Why we included Jackson Reece in the PraveBio range
Jackson Reece is a family brand of baby care from Northern Ireland, founded by Janet and Colin Cordner. It was created out of pure practical need: their sons suffered from severe eczema, and regular wipes containing alcohol, perfumes, or common synthetic ingredients worsened their skin condition. The Cordners therefore opted for absolute minimalism and used 99% pharmaceutical-grade deionized water as a base.
We particularly appreciate Jackson Reece for its thoughtful formulation and ecological approach. The wipes are made from 100% biodegradable wood pulp, which decomposes in compost within 60 days, and have a completely recyclable single-material packaging.

Kinder by Nature Baby Wipes – Main Benefits
- Plastic-Free Material: The wipes are made from 100% viscose from certified wood pulp (FSC). This material is fully biodegradable and decomposes in compost conditions in approximately 60 days.
- Composition Without Risky Preservatives: The formulation is based on 99% purified water. It does not contain substances often associated with contact dermatitis, such as phenoxyethanol, parabens, alcohol, phthalates, or synthetic perfumes.
- Effective Cleaning with Plant Surfactants: We use gentle surfactants (e.g., caprylyl/capryl glucoside) to remove impurities, which gently emulsify fats. This ensures effective cleaning with less mechanical friction.
- Recyclable Packaging: Jackson Reece uses a single-material recyclable packaging, including the closure label. This minimizes the amount of plastic ending up in landfills.
- Protection of the Natural Barrier: The formulation is optimized to maintain the physiological pH of the skin. Added extracts of organic chamomile and aloe vera help soothe the disrupted skin barrier.
- Transparent Preservation: To ensure microbiological stability, food-grade preservatives (levulinic acid and potassium sorbate) are used. Their safety profile is long-term verified for use in the youngest children.
Why Choose Jackson Reece
The Jackson Reece brand is a family business from Northern Ireland, founded by Janet and Colin Cordner. They did not venture into business for quick profit but out of pure parental necessity: their sons suffered from severe eczema from birth. Since regular baby wipes containing alcohol, perfumes, and synthetic substances only further irritated their skin, they decided to create their own alternative. They stripped the composition to the bare minimum and relied on 99% pharmaceutical-grade deionized water.
The brand's philosophy "Kinder by Nature" is not just an empty marketing slogan but reflects the founders' true approach. They managed to combine uncompromising gentleness to baby skin with absolute environmental consideration. You won't find any unnecessary chemicals in their products – every ingredient has a clear practical purpose in the formulation, whether it's a soothing herbal extract or gentle food-grade preservation.
The greatest advantage of Jackson Reece is that it is a completely independent company without external investors. Janet and Colin thus have 100% control over the purity of each batch. They do not have to make compromises, succumb to pressure to reduce production costs, or replace premium raw materials with cheaper substitutes. The result is wipes that work exactly as tired and sore baby skin needs.

FAQ
What is the Jackson Reece brand?
Jackson Reece is a family brand of baby care from Northern Ireland, specializing in products for extremely sensitive skin prone to atopy. Their wet wipes consist of 99% pure deionized water and are completely free of plastics, alcohol, or synthetic fragrances.

Can I flush wet wipes down the toilet?
Definitely not, they do not belong in the toilet. Although the wipes are 100% biodegradable, the natural pulp does not dissolve in water immediately like regular toilet paper. The manufacturer warns against flushing as it risks clogging the sewage system.

How should I compost the wipes properly at home in the garden?
On a regular garden compost, the wipes will completely decompose in 60 days. For hygiene reasons, only put those used for wiping hands, face, or clean urine there. Wipes soiled with stool should be disposed of in regular mixed waste due to bacteria.

How do they differ from purely water-based wipes?
Jackson Reece wipes contain, besides water, a drop of very gentle cleansing agent (plant surfactant). This helps naturally dissolve greasy impurities and stool. You can clean the baby easily and without unnecessary scrubbing, which most irritates and damages sensitive skin.

Sometimes more wipes come out of the package at once. Is this a defect?
Not at all, it's proof of purely natural material. The wipes are made from 100% natural pulp (viscose), whose fine fibers naturally stick together slightly. Classic plastic wipes may glide smoothly out of the package, but they are not ideal for baby skin or the environment.

How do the wipes not get mouldy without common chemicals?
A gentle preservation system from plant starch and food-grade substances (levulinic acid and potassium sorbate) ensures the wipes remain clean and do not spoil. It reliably prevents the growth of bacteria or moulds, yet is extremely gentle on sensitive baby skin.

What is the difference between Water Based and Plant Based Jackson Reece wipes?
If your child has eczema, very sensitive, or easily irritated skin, we recommend choosing Water Based Jackson Reece wipes. They are unscented, based on purified deionized water, and have the simplest composition possible, so they do not unnecessarily burden reactive baby skin. Plant Based Jackson Reece wipes are more suitable for regular daily care for children without a tendency to eczema or significant sensitivity to plant extracts. They contain aloe vera and chamomile, which soothe the skin and give the wipes a gentle natural herbal character.

How to use wet wipes to prevent diaper rash?
Use wet wipes mainly for gentle skin cleansing, but do not immediately enclose the bottom in a wet nappy after changing. After cleaning, let the skin dry briefly, or gently pat it dry with a dry cotton nappy or soft towel. Fasten a new nappy only when the skin is dry, and do not leave the child in a wet or soiled nappy for long. The combination of moisture, heat, and friction is the most common cause of irritation in the nappy area.

The British brand Jackson Reece is named after the two sons of its founders - Jackson and Reece. It is really a small family company, but it has managed to make a name for itself all over the world and has won repeated first places in competitions that evaluate products for children. The idea for the brand gradually came about at a time when the founders had a son, Jackson, who was diagnosed with childhood eczema at just a few months old and prescribed a steroid cream, which of course, paradoxically, made his problems worse. His parents tried virtually every means available to bring their son at least some relief. In the end, they ended up with expensive and hard to find natural treatments.
After years of careful research into baby cosmetics, they concluded that these problems were mainly caused by the ingredients that most major baby cosmetic brands add to their products. The moment their second son, Reece, was born and started having similar skin problems, they decided to start their own brand with the most commonly used baby products. They affectionately named their small family business after their two sons - Jackson Reece.
Jackson Reece napkins and tissues are 100% degradable and their packaging is 100% recyclable. Conventional wet wipes are one of the biggest plastic polluters on the planet, along with disposable nappies. By using these compostable wipes, you will also be making a noticeable difference to the environment. In addition, their production takes place entirely in the UK. Thanks to local production, the carbon footprint is really reduced to a minimum.
In their composition you will not find:
- alcohol
- parabens
- chlorine
- SLS and SLES
- lanolin
- benzoates
- phthalates
- methylisothiazolinone
- propylene
- glycol
- phenoxyethanol
- triclosan
What Jackson Reece products contain:
Compostable wood pulp - sourced from sustainable European forests. This is the waste that is produced in the manufacture of furniture. Thanks to state-of-the-art recycling techniques, this material can still be used and transformed into a super soft, non-woven fabric, free of plastic and soft enough for sensitive baby skin. This also makes the wipes 100% biodegradable and you can even compost them. In nature, it decomposes in 60 days - unlike conventional polyester wipes, which can take up to 500 years to decompose.
Purified and deionized water - pharmaceutical grade, so it is perfectly purified from any bacteria.
Botanical ingredients - such as hydrating aloe vera, antibacterial tea tree oil, soothing chamomile, nourishing almond oil or fragrant ylang-ylang.
Preservative - All water-based products need a preservative system to prevent mould and bacteria from growing in them. Potassium sorbate acts as a preservative in Jackson Reece products. Although it is an artificial preservative, it is food grade, which means you could practically eat it safely. In theory, however, we don't recommend it because it probably wouldn't taste very good. It is a safe and non-irritating alternative to the commonly used phenoxyethanol or benzalkonium chloride. Moreover, it is represented in the composition by only one percent.
All ingredients used have been carefully selected in consultation with paediatricians and experts in eczema and other skin diseases.
