Trafo focuses on reducing the content of acrylamide, a potentially carcinogenic substance formed during the frying of potato products. By working with Agrico, they have developed a new potato variety with a lower content of free sugars, which helps to reduce this harmful substance. Innovation plays a key role in the Trafo potato chip production process.

The company uses modern technologies such as drying wall and vacuum baking, and implements an advanced pulsed electric field (PEF) production process. This technology not only reduces acrylamide levels, but also improves the quality, efficiency and sustainability of the company's operations. This project, which has been supported by co-funding from the European Union, represents another step towards healthier and greener snacks.
