Black Seed Oil with Wild Oregano & Rosemary, 355 ml cold-pressed Nigella sativa • three plant oils • 5 ml daily
Cold-pressed Mediterranean black seed oil with wild organic rosemary and oregano oils. The herbal oils add flavour and help protect the blend against rancidity. Stir a measured dose into a dressing, drizzle it over vegetables or add it to soup just before serving.
- Extra virgin Nigella sativa oil: also known as black cumin oil.
- Three plant oils: a black seed oil base with rosemary and oregano.
- Daily dose: one teaspoon (5 ml).
- 355 ml bottle: approximately 72 daily doses.
Food supplement.
Why Black Seed Oil is Pravé Bio
The rosemary and oregano in this blend do more than add flavour. NAHS adds their oils to cold-pressed Mediterranean black seed oil to help protect it against oxidation and rancidity. We value that attention to how the oil is made and preserved, alongside the origin of the seeds.
Take this three-oil blend by the teaspoon. The base oil is pressed from Nigella sativa, also called black cumin. Despite that name, it is botanically distinct from both cumin and caraway.
Inside the 355 ml bottle
- Extra virgin black seed oil is the base, with wild organic rosemary oil and wild organic oregano oil added.
- Daily dose: 1 teaspoon (5 ml). This is not an oregano supplement taken two drops at a time.
- Around 72 daily doses per bottle. At one teaspoon a day, that is roughly two and a half months’ supply.
A note on health claims. Black seed research covers different oils, extracts and isolated compounds. Its findings cannot automatically be applied to this preparation or its daily dose. Read the explanation in our frequently asked questions.
Suitable for
Three plant oils, with no animal-derived ingredients.
Warnings
- Do not exceed the recommended daily dose.
- Food supplements should not replace a varied, balanced diet. A healthy lifestyle is also important.
- Keep out of reach of young children.
- Consult a doctor or pharmacist before use if you take medication, have a medical condition, are pregnant or are breastfeeding.
- Do not take if you are allergic to black seed, oregano, rosemary or any other ingredient.
Black seed, oregano & rosemary
Pressed seed oil and distilled herbal oils have different roles. Pressing black seeds releases their oil. Distilling rosemary and oregano extracts the volatile aromatic compounds that make up their essential oils. The finished blend contains both types.
- A cold-pressed base. Mechanical pressure extracts the oil from black seeds. The ingredient here is a seed oil, rather than ground seeds or isolated thymoquinone.
- Rosemary and oregano also help preserve the oil. NAHS adds them to protect the blend against oxidation and rancidity. They contribute a pronounced herbal aroma and flavour too.
- Different oils need different directions. Measure Black Seed Oil by the teaspoon. Concentrated oregano drops use different oil ratios, so follow each product’s own dose rather than swapping one for the other.
The label describes the black seed oil as extra virgin. Organic status is specified for the rosemary and oregano oils; the complete blend is not labelled organic.
Thymoquinone & black seed oil quality
Thymoquinone, often abbreviated to TQ, occurs naturally in black seed. It is one of the seed’s aromatic compounds, distinct from the thymol found in oregano oil.
Black seed oil consists mainly of fats, with linoleic (omega-6) and oleic (omega-9) acids among its main fatty acids. Thymoquinone occurs alongside other naturally occurring seed compounds. When comparing products, distinguish pressed oil from a standardised extract or an oil blend: the amount of one compound does not describe the whole oil.
- Composition varies between oils. A 2024 study of 13 oils extracted from seeds of different origins found differences in aromatic compounds and quality indicators. It did not test this NAHS blend.
- What does ‘thymoquinone-rich’ mean? The US label describes the oil as rich in thymoquinone, but does not state a percentage or an amount per teaspoon.
- Freshness and storage matter too. Oxidation changes an oil’s aroma and properties. Added rosemary and oregano do not remove the need to close the bottle properly and protect it from heat and sunlight.

Pure oil, herbal blend or oregano drops?
Start by checking the main ingredient. Here, rosemary and oregano oils are added to a black seed oil base. Choose according to the ingredients and format you want: pure black seed oil, this herbal blend or an oregano supplement such as Oreganol P73.
For black seed oil without added herbs, choose our 100% pure black seed oil. If you are looking for oregano drops, OregaULTRA is a separate preparation taken by the drop. Follow its own dosing instructions; a dose of oregano drops is not equivalent to a teaspoon of Black Seed Oil.
A spoonful in food
Black seed has a distinctly spicy flavour, with herbal notes from oregano and rosemary. Stir the measured daily dose into a salad dressing, drizzle it over vegetables or add it to soup just before serving. The flavour is less pronounced when spread through a dish than when you take the oil on its own. Add it after cooking; do not use it for frying.
Why the oil does not dissolve in water
Stirring the oil into water leaves droplets or a layer on the surface. A blender can disperse it through the other ingredients in a smoothie, although the oil itself does not dissolve in the water.

FAQs
Are black seed and black cumin the same plant?
In this product, both names refer to Nigella sativa. It is botanically different from cumin and caraway. Check the Latin name when buying seeds or oil, as common names can be ambiguous.

Does this contain oregano and rosemary as well as black seed oil?
Yes. Black seed oil is the base, with wild organic rosemary and oregano oils added. For a single-ingredient alternative, see our 100% pure black seed oil.

How do I take Black Seed Oil, and how long does a bottle last?
Take one teaspoon (5 ml) daily, with food or added to salad, vegetables, soup or a smoothie. The label lists approximately 72 daily doses per 355 ml bottle, giving around 72 days’ supply.

How is this different from oregano oil drops?
Black Seed Oil is mainly pressed black seed oil, taken as a 5 ml dose. OregaULTRA, for example, contains oregano essential oil with carrier oils and is taken by the drop. They are different preparations with different directions, so do not interchange their doses.

How much thymoquinone is in one teaspoon?
Thymoquinone occurs naturally in black seed. This blend’s label does not give an amount in milligrams or a standardised percentage, so the amount cannot be calculated from the volume of a teaspoon.

Is this cold-pressed oil or an essential oil?
The black seed oil base is cold-pressed from the seeds, with aromatic rosemary and oregano oils added. The finished blend is not undiluted black seed or oregano essential oil.

What does it taste like, and can I add it to food?
It tastes distinctly spicy and herbal. Stir the measured daily dose into a dressing or add it to cooked food, where its flavour is less pronounced than when taken on its own. Add it to soup just before serving, and do not use it for frying.

Is it vegan, and is the whole blend organic?
All three ingredients are plant oils, so the blend is suitable for vegans. Organic status is specified for the rosemary and oregano oils. This does not establish organic certification for the black seed oil base or the complete blend.

Is it suitable for children, pregnancy or breastfeeding?
Do not use the adult directions to work out a child’s dose. Ask a doctor or pharmacist before giving it to a child, or taking it during pregnancy or breastfeeding. A blend with aromatic oils should not be treated as equivalent to small amounts of seeds or herbs in food.

Can I take it long-term or alongside medication?
The number of doses in the bottle does not set a course length. Discuss this particular blend with a doctor or pharmacist if you plan to take it long-term, take medication or have a medical condition. Stop taking it if irritation or an allergic reaction occurs.

Why don’t you describe study findings as benefits of this blend?
Research may examine different oils, extracts or isolated thymoquinone. Their composition and doses may not match Black Seed Oil. A laboratory finding alone does not authorise a health claim for a finished supplement. Botanical claims also require evidence for the particular plant, plant part, processing method and conditions of use.

What does NAHS stand for, and who makes the oil?
NAHS stands for North American Herb & Spice, a US company with its own product development and manufacturing. Pravé Bio has worked with NAHS since 2015 and is its exclusive distributor for Europe. Read about the company, its manufacturing and our partnership in the brand section above.
