Black Seed Oil Absorb-Max TQ – Micellised Drops, 60 ml Turkish black seed oil • wild organic oregano P73 & raw yacon syrup • emulsified drops • food supplement
Cold-pressed Turkish black seed oil with wild organic oregano P73 and organic raw yacon syrup. This emulsified, micellised blend can be added to water, juice or a smoothie, as directed.
- Emulsified & micellised: add to water, juice or a smoothie as directed.
- Turkish-grown Nigella sativa: a source of naturally occurring seed compounds, including thymoquinone.
- Shake before use: measure with the supplied dropper.
- 60 ml / 2 fl oz: 52 doses declared on the label.
Why Absorb-Max TQ is Pravé Bio
We choose black seed for the oil’s natural composition, not thymoquinone alone. North American Herb & Spice uses Turkish-grown seeds and cold pressing. Its wholefood approach retains fatty acids and the other compounds naturally present in the pressed oil.
Absorb-Max TQ takes that black seed base into an emulsified, micellised format. Wild organic oregano P73 and organic raw yacon syrup complete the blend. The drops can be added to water, juice or a smoothie, as directed.
We also prefer its taste. In our own experience, Absorb-Max TQ is more palatable than plain black seed oil. It may suit people who find the conventional oil too strongly flavoured or prefer taking drops in a drink.
Black seed: a long history in a small seed
- Black seed has a particular place in Arabic tradition. References appear in the hadith, collections of sayings and traditions associated with the Prophet Muhammad. Its cultural significance long predates today’s food supplements.
- Black seed, black cumin, Nigella sativa. These names can refer to the same plant. Despite the common name, it is botanically distinct from both cumin and caraway.
- Its history in Anatolia reaches back to the Hittites. Researchers identified black seeds in a vessel from Boyalı Höyük dated to around 1650 BC — evidence of its long presence in what is now Turkey.
What does black seed research actually tell us? Studies investigate seeds, pressed oils, extracts and isolated thymoquinone at different doses. Their findings cannot simply be attributed to Absorb-Max TQ. Our FAQ explains the distinction between ingredient research and evidence for a finished supplement.
Suitable for
Warnings
- Do not exceed the recommended daily dose.
- Food supplements should not replace a varied diet. A varied, balanced diet and a healthy lifestyle are important.
- Keep out of reach of young children.
- Consult a doctor or pharmacist before use if you take medication, have a medical condition, are pregnant or are breastfeeding.
- Do not use if you are allergic to black seed, oregano, yacon or any other ingredient.
From Turkish seeds to drops for your drink
Cold pressing comes first; emulsification follows. Pressing releases the seed’s fatty oil and other compounds naturally present in the oil. Absorb-Max TQ then undergoes further processing to produce an emulsified blend that can be measured in drops and added to drinks.
An emulsion disperses oil into tiny droplets. Stirring ordinary oil into a glass of water does not reproduce that processing. Here, the finished format matters alongside the origin of the seeds.
Micellisation is not the isolation of thymoquinone. It describes the processing of oil-based ingredients, rather than a particular TQ concentration. The name alone tells you neither the amount of TQ in a dose nor how absorption compares with conventional oil.
How growing conditions influence the oil
- A plant’s chemistry responds to its surroundings. Water stress can alter the production of phenolic and aromatic compounds. Black seed research shows that the response depends on the plant’s genetics and the severity of drought: some constituents increase while others decline. In a two-year field trial, drought increased the essential-oil proportion in the seeds while reducing fatty-oil content and seed yield. Growing conditions help explain differences that a thymoquinone percentage alone cannot capture.
- Wholefood sourcing and further processing serve different purposes. NAHS’s approach concerns the selection and retention of naturally occurring constituents. Emulsification addresses how oil-based ingredients disperse in a liquid. One describes the raw material; the other, the finished format.
For the conventional oil format, compare 100% Pure Black Seed Oil. It is measured by the teaspoon and does not dissolve in water with ordinary stirring.
Thymoquinone: what TQ tells you
Thymoquinone, or TQ, occurs naturally in black seed oil and belongs to the quinone family. It is distinct from thymol, an aromatic compound associated with oregano, despite their similar names.
The Absorb-Max TQ label does not quantify thymoquinone or the individual oils per dose. It lists the ingredients in a proprietary blend. The 40 mg TQ figure given for a teaspoon of NAHS’s pure oil therefore does not apply to these drops.
- A drop count is not a TQ measurement. Forty drops do not mean 40 mg of thymoquinone. That calculation would require the quantity and analytical specification of the individual ingredients.
- Compare the specific preparation. A 2022 laboratory comparison of oils and capsule products illustrates why composition matters. It was not a clinical trial of Absorb-Max TQ.
- Yacon syrup also contributes to the contents of the bottle. A 60 ml bottle of this blend is not 60 ml of pure black seed oil. Compare ingredients, directions and taste as well as bottle size.

Drops, teaspoons or capsules?
Choose Absorb-Max TQ if you want a black seed blend you can add to a drink. For a single-ingredient oil with a declared TQ amount per teaspoon, compare 100% Pure Black Seed Oil.
Black Seed Oil with Oregano & Rosemary is another liquid option, measured by the teaspoon. Its ingredients and directions differ, so the doses are not interchangeable.
Prefer less contact with the taste of the oil? Black Seed Oil capsules enclose their own herbal oil blend. Their contents are different from Absorb-Max TQ.
Adding the drops to water, juice or a smoothie
- Shake the bottle well before measuring. Add the recommended dose to water, juice or a smoothie. The type and volume of drink will influence the taste; using more liquid does not change how many drops you take.
- Use the dropper supplied with the bottle. Do not estimate the dose using another product’s dropper or teaspoon directions. Follow the total daily dose on your pack.
Yacon syrup: its role in the taste
- Yacon syrup comes from the yacon root. Absorb-Max TQ uses a certified organic, raw syrup. Alongside the oils, it contributes to the taste and character of the liquid blend.
- Organic and raw do not mean sugar-free. The label does not give a separate sugar figure per dose. The exact sugar content and glycaemic index of the finished drops cannot be established from it.
- Yacon also naturally contains fructooligosaccharides (FOS). These short carbohydrate chains are measured separately from sugars such as glucose, fructose and sucrose. Their proportions depend on the raw material and processing; a separate FOS amount is not declared for these drops.
- Consider the finished blend when tracking sugar intake. Figures for yacon syrup on its own do not establish the sugar content of these drops, because its proportion is not declared.
Emulsions, micelles & dissolving: the distinction
- Dispersing oil is different from dissolving it molecule by molecule. An emulsion holds small oil droplets in another liquid phase. Micelles are a different molecular arrangement that can carry fat-soluble compounds.
- NAHS describes these drops as emulsified and micellised. The ingredient list does not specify the complete manufacturing process, particle size or how the blend behaves under every condition.
- For your drink, dispersibility is the useful distinction: the processed oil ingredients can be dispersed in water. Dispersion in a glass and absorption in the body are separate processes.
How the drops compare with gummies
- Gummies need their own base as well as their active ingredients. Black Seed Gummies use pectin, coconut nectar and yacon syrup. Two gummies declare 500 mg of a proprietary blend and 4 g of sugars.
- Absorb-Max TQ does not declare the blend’s weight per dose. There is therefore no reliable conversion between a number of drops, two gummies and a teaspoon of oil. Compare each product’s own ingredients and directions.
- Choose the format you can measure and take consistently. The shape of a supplement does not establish its dose: the quantities declared on the label are what allow a meaningful comparison.
Ingredients & label details
| Proprietary blend ingredients | Label specification |
|---|---|
| Black seed oil (Nigella sativa) | Cold-pressed; Turkish source |
| Oreganol P73 | Wild organic oregano in micellised form |
| Yacon syrup | Certified organic; raw |
Individual ingredient amounts and thymoquinone content are not quantified on the label. No nutrient reference value has been established for this botanical blend. Figures for the pure oil do not apply to this emulsified preparation.
How to use & store
Shake well before use. The US directions recommend 40 drops under the tongue or in water or juice, once or twice daily. The drops can also be added to a smoothie. Follow the local label on your bottle, which takes precedence, and do not exceed its recommended daily dose.
Our preference is to add the drops to a drink. If they burn or irritate your mouth when taken under the tongue, do not hold them there. Use the drink option in the directions instead; discontinue use if irritation persists.
Use in children
The US directions give 10–20 drops for children but do not specify an age range. This should not be treated as a dose for a baby or young child. Check the local label and ask a paediatrician or pharmacist about suitability for the child’s age. An adult should supervise use.
How long does a bottle last?
| Bottle size | Use at 40 drops per dose | Approximate duration |
|---|---|---|
| 60 ml / 2 fl oz | Once daily | 52 days |
| 60 ml / 2 fl oz | Twice daily | 26 days |
The label held in the NIH database declares 52 doses per bottle. These estimates use that figure at 40 drops per dose. Actual duration depends on your pack’s directions and how the drops are measured; this is not a recommended duration of continuous use.
Storage & dropper care
Close the bottle securely after use and protect it from direct sunlight and heat. Avoid touching your mouth or drink with the dropper. Follow any further storage instructions on your pack.

North American Herb & Spice: expertise & in-house manufacturing
From ingredient to finished supplementNAHS develops and manufactures its own supplements. Founder Judy K. Gray remains personally involved in sourcing and formulation, working with the brand’s development, manufacturing and quality-control teams.
Oregano was just the beginning
The range began with Oreganol P73. Judy K. Gray has since developed more than 400 formulas for NAHS and its sister brand, Physician’s Strength, which has a separate range for healthcare practitioners.
The wholefood approach
NAHS aims to retain naturally occurring compounds together. For pressed oils, that means considering the seed’s accompanying compounds as well as its fatty acids; for oregano, the essential oil’s wider aromatic profile. The plant and the part used determine how it is processed.
Beyond oregano
Black seed, turmeric, chaga and wild berries sit alongside fish oils in the range. They appear in capsules, drops, powders and drink blends, each with its own ingredients and directions.

Long-standing relationships at source
NAHS works with established local partners and harvesters. Its wild oregano is picked by hand in the Turkish mountains; other ingredients come from regions including Peru and northern Canada. Knowledge of local plants, harvests and growing conditions informs both ingredient selection and processing.
More than a buying relationship
NAHS has helped fund wells, schools and community facilities. Its Strong Community Causes programme also supports selected projects nominated by customers.
In-house research & development
The development team selects the ingredients, extracts and any carriers for each formula. It also determines the final format, from liquid oils to capsules and powders.
Made in Lake Forest, Illinois
NAHS has its own manufacturing facilities in Lake Forest, near Chicago. Liquid products are bottled on site under the supervision of the quality-control team.
Checks at both ends of production
Incoming ingredients and finished products are tested for identity, levels of selected constituents and unwanted impurities. Quality control continues beyond receipt of the raw material.
Processing to suit the ingredient
Cold pressing, steam distillation, CO₂ extraction, juicing and milling serve different purposes. Seeds yield pressed oils, while distillation can separate essential oils from aromatic herbs.
Knowing the source
Long-standing partners and local harvesters connect NAHS with the places its ingredients come from. Both the plant species and its growing environment inform the choice of raw material.
GMP & facility certifications
Manufacturing follows GMP principles. The facility holds organic, Kosher and Halal certifications; these do not automatically apply to every individual product.

Frequently asked questions
What is Black Seed Oil Absorb-Max TQ?
It is an emulsified, micellised black seed preparation in drops. The ingredients are cold-pressed Turkish black seed oil, wild organic oregano P73 and organic raw yacon syrup.

How is it different from pure black seed oil?
Pure Black Seed Oil is a single-ingredient oil measured by the teaspoon. Absorb-Max TQ has additional ingredients and a processed drop format suitable for drinks. The doses are not interchangeable.

How much thymoquinone is in 40 drops?
The label does not specify the amount. TQ refers to thymoquinone, a naturally occurring black seed compound. Forty is the drop count in the US directions, not a declaration of 40 mg TQ.

What does micellised mean?
It describes processing of the oil-based ingredients. NAHS uses the term alongside emulsification. It does not, by itself, establish particle size or a quantified improvement in absorption.

How do I take Absorb-Max TQ?
Shake well and follow the local label. The US directions recommend 40 drops once or twice daily, under the tongue or in water or juice. Do not exceed the daily dose on your bottle.

What do the drops taste like?
We find them more palatable than plain black seed oil. Yacon syrup and oregano also contribute to the flavour. This is our own experience; perceptions of the herbal taste will vary.

Can I add them to water or a smoothie?
Yes — the directions allow water, juice and smoothies. Shake the bottle first, then measure your dose. Ordinary cold-pressed oil does not disperse in the same way simply by stirring it into water.

Are the drops sugar-free?
They contain yacon syrup, and the label does not quantify sugars per dose. We therefore do not describe the drops as sugar-free or give them a specific glycaemic index.

How long will 60 ml last?
The NIH label record declares 52 doses. At one 40-drop dose daily, that is approximately 52 days; at two doses, 26 days. These are estimates of bottle duration, not a recommended duration of continuous use.

Is Absorb-Max TQ vegan?
The listed ingredients are plant-derived. No animal-derived ingredients are listed in the blend.

Can children or pregnant or breastfeeding women take it?
The US directions mention 10–20 drops for children without specifying ages. Check the local label and ask a paediatrician about suitability for a particular child. Consult a doctor or pharmacist during pregnancy or breastfeeding, or if taking medication. The directions do not establish suitability for babies.

Does Absorb-Max TQ have evidence of effectiveness?
Research on black seed is not automatically evidence for this blend. Studies may use different oils, extracts, isolated compounds or doses. The sources linked here explain the ingredients and processing; they do not establish a clinical benefit for Absorb-Max TQ.

Is it the same as Black Seed Gummies?
No — both the ingredients and the format differ. Black Seed Gummies are pectin-based gummies with their own blend and directions. Without quantified ingredient amounts for the drops, an equivalent dose cannot be calculated.

Why do I need to shake the bottle?
Shaking is part of the directions. It mixes the contents again before you measure a dose. Do this even when adding the drops to a smoothie.
