Mexican Chipotle Chilli Sauce no added sugar • low carb • jalapeño and chipotle • distinctly hot • 150 ml
Mexican fu:di chilli sauce (Mexican Chipotle Chilli Sauce) with the distinctive flavour of jalapeño and chipotle chillies, complemented by lime juice, smoked paprika and cumin. The recipe contains no added sugar and no seed oils. With 0.2 g of carbohydrate per serving and thickened with flax fibre, it is suitable for low-carb eating. It works well in tacos and huevos rancheros, for marinating meat or for adding flavour to Mexican-style dishes.
Why we added fu:di to the PraveBio range
Fu:di is a British food brand from London, founded by Tom Redwood and Ben Calderhead. It grew from a practical idea: everyday sauces and condiments often contain more sugar than necessary, even though they are products people use almost every day. The brand therefore starts with familiar recipes and reworks them for home cooking using a different choice of ingredients.
It is worth stating clearly that the fu:di website does not mention organic certification; the brand focuses instead on reducing added sugar, lowering carbohydrate content and avoiding seed oils, choosing healthier alternatives. These are familiar types of condiments and kitchen classics, but with clearly described recipes. They are not aimed at those looking for sweet sauces or an all-purpose condiment without acidity.
Fu:di Mexican Chipotle Chilli Sauce
Mexican Chipotle Chilli Sauce is a hot sauce inspired by Mexican cooking. The base combines fresh jalapeño chillies and chipotle chillies with lime juice, smoked paprika and cumin.
It is made with no added sugar and no seed oils. The flavour combines the smokiness of chipotle with the acidity of lime and vinegar and a spiced finish, making it a useful alternative where conventional chilli sauces can be unnecessarily sweet.
Use it in homemade tacos, with huevos rancheros, on grilled meat, in marinades or as a table sauce for Mexican-style dishes.
It is suitable for low-carb eating. It contains just 0.2 g of carbohydrate per serving, has no added sugar or seed oils and is thickened with flax fibre.

Pravé Bio recommends these additions
- RealSalt® – Taco Seasoning
A base for tacos, meat and marinades. The seasoning blend creates a flavour base for minced meat, chicken, fish and beans. The chipotle sauce can then be added directly at the table for a fuller, more varied flavour. - Koroneiki & Manaki Extra Virgin Olive Oil – Early Harvest
For marinades and finishing. Combined with the sauce, it makes a fuller marinade or a simple dressing for roasted vegetables, meat and pulses. The oil softens the heat and brings together the acidity, smokiness and spice of the sauce. - Raw Ceylon Coconut Flour
For homemade low-carb flatbreads and thickening. Use it for homemade flatbreads as an alternative to tortillas or to gently thicken mixtures and fillings. It works well in dishes where the chipotle sauce is used in low-carb cooking, not only as a table sauce. - Garlic Dip with Chickpeas
A creamy counterpoint to the heat. The dip adds richness and a softer texture to tortillas, roasted vegetables and grilled meat. Paired with it, the chipotle sauce tastes less sharply hot and more balanced.
Did you know?
- Jalapeño makes up 22 % of the recipe and, together with chipotle chillies, creates a flavour that is both fresh and smoky.
- Lime juice, smoked paprika and cumin give the sauce a flavour that works well in tacos, marinades and with grilled meat.
- Simple ingredients: The sauce is thickened with flax fibre instead of starch-based thickeners and contains no added sugar or seed oils.
Tip: Stir the sauce into a chicken marinade or add it directly to tacos and huevos rancheros at the table.
Mexican Chipotle Chilli Sauce – key features
Fu:di Mexican Chilli Sauce is not defined by heat alone. Instead of a sweet, heavy flavour, it combines jalapeño, chipotle, lime juice, smoked paprika and spices for a smoky, slightly acidic and spiced character.
- No added sugar – the flavour comes from the chillies, lime and spices rather than added sweetness.
- No seed oils – the recipe contains no unnecessary heavy oil base.
- Low in carbohydrate – just 0.2 g of carbohydrate per serving; the sauce is suitable for low-carb eating.
- Jalapeño and chipotle – a combination of fresh chilli flavour and smoky notes.
- Smoky and spiced flavour – chipotle, smoked paprika, coriander and cumin create a full, balanced flavour.
- Lime juice – adds acidity that works well in marinades or when added directly at the table.
- Thickened with flax fibre – without the flavour of starch-based thickeners and with a simpler ingredient list.
- For tacos and marinades – works well with huevos rancheros, grilled meat and roasted vegetables.
This is a Mexican-style chilli sauce with a distinctive flavour that also suits diets with reduced sugar and carbohydrate intake.
Why choose fu:di
Fu:di was created to make full-flavoured condiments with simpler ingredients. Not as a “diet” substitute, but as a proper condiment that works in everyday cooking. The brand reworks familiar recipes to contain less sugar and fewer carbohydrates while avoiding seed oils, without losing flavour.
The brand motto “crafted by chefs, backed by science” describes its approach. Flavour is developed with the mindset of a professional kitchen, while the ingredient lists remain straightforward and purposeful, with a clear reason behind each choice. Fu:di believes in choosing flavour rather than going without it – and that approach comes through in its products.
The brand is led by Tom Redwood, a chef who judges recipes by how well they work in everyday cooking. On the plate, in a quick sandwich, in an after-work salad or in a simple dip for guests. Fu:di therefore considers not only which ingredients to use, but why they are used: why these particular ingredients, why these quantities and why this flavour profile.

They use free-range eggs, extra virgin olive oil and avocado oil, as well as plant-based sweeteners (erythritol, inulin, stevia). Ingredients are carefully selected, packaging is recyclable and nutritional values are clearly stated.
The fu:di® story

The story of fu:di® began with founder Tom’s personal experience. Although food had been at the centre of his professional life and he usually cooked at home, he gradually struggled with excess weight and was diagnosed with prediabetes at the age of 39. He therefore decided to reduce sugar and carbohydrates, without giving up flavour or shared moments around food.
In his own kitchen, he began adapting favourite everyday recipes. He first created ketchup, followed by other sauces, mayonnaise, baked goods and breakfast mixes. His aim was to make foods with carefully considered ingredients that did not feel like a compromised diet alternative, but still delivered full flavour and enjoyment.
Tom was joined by his long-time friend Ben, a former academic who worked in mathematics and statistics at Imperial College London. He combined Tom’s culinary experience with analysis of scientific research and an interest in metabolic health. Their shared approach led to the creation of fu:di® – food crafted by chefs and backed by science.
Developing fu:di® products led Tom and Ben to take another step. While looking for oils suitable for their recipes, they found that commonly used fats often did not meet their requirements and that not all avocado oils offered the same quality.
They therefore founded the related brand GOOD PHATS, focused on carefully selected olive and avocado oils, ghee and other fats for different types of cooking. This gave them a high-quality foundation consistent with the fu:di® philosophy, while also making the same ingredients available to customers for everyday use.
