Peruvian chilli sauce fu:di (Peruvian Zingy Chilli) with authentic Aji Amarillo pepper (Capsicum baccatum) and yellow Habanero. The recipe with a spiciness of 30,000 – 50,000 SHU is free from added sugar, fructose syrups, and seed oils. Suitable for preparing ceviche, marinating poultry, and seasoning dishes in an Andean style.
Why we included fu:di in the PraveBio range
Fu:di is a British food brand from London, founded by Tom Redwood and Ben Calderhead. It was created for a practical reason: common sauces and condiments often contain unnecessarily high amounts of sugar, yet they are products people use almost daily. The brand therefore draws from common recipes and adjusts them to be used in home cooking, but with a different choice of ingredients.
It's good to openly say that fu:di does not list organic certification on their website; they focus more on reducing added sugar, lowering carbohydrates, and avoiding seed oils; choosing healthier alternatives. These are known types of condiments and kitchen 'classics', but with clearly described recipes. It's not a choice for those who want 'sweet' sauces or a universal condiment without acidity.
Peruvian Chilli Sauce Aji Amarillo & Habanero Fu:di
Peruvian Zingy Chilli Sauce is a distinctively spicy sauce inspired by the flavours of Peruvian cuisine. The base is the Aji Amarillo pepper, whose fruity notes reminiscent of mango and passion fruit are among the typical tastes of Peru.
It is made without added sugar and without seed oils. Unlike common chilli sauces, which balance spiciness with sugar, fu:di has a simple composition and a taste where the freshness of lime combines with the heat of yellow habanero.
It has a wide range of uses in the kitchen. It is suitable for preparing homemade ceviche, as a marinade for fish and poultry, or as a fresh dip for nachos and vegetables. Its medium spiciness (30,000–50,000 SHU) is chosen to complement the food, not overpower it.
Most commercial chilli sauces have their flavour masked by high fructose syrup or refined oils. For those following a low carb diet, fu:di is a suitable choice: with only 0.3 g of carbohydrates per serving, it offers a distinct spiciness without added sugar and seed oils, thickened only with chicory and flax fibre.

Why Choose fu:di
Fu:di was created with the aim of producing condiments with full flavour and simpler composition. Not as a 'diet' substitute, but as a full-fledged seasoning that works in everyday cooking. The brand adjusts known recipes to contain less sugar, fewer carbohydrates, and also avoids seed oils without losing flavour.
The brand's motto 'crafted by chefs, backed by science' reflects their way of working. They balance flavour as in a professional kitchen and keep the composition clear and purposeful, with a clear reason for every choice. Fu:di says 'go with flavour, not without it' – and that's evident in their products.
Behind the brand is Tom Redwood, a chef who judges a recipe by how it stands up in everyday cooking. On the plate, in a quick sandwich, in a post-work salad, and in a simple dip for guests. Fu:di therefore not only considers the selection of ingredients but also the reason for their use: why these particular ingredients, why this amount, and why this flavour profile.

This helps customers better understand the ingredients in everyday foods and make decisions based on clear information.

The fu:di® story

The story of fu:di® began with founder Tom’s personal experience. Although food had been at the centre of his professional life and he usually cooked at home, he gradually struggled with excess weight and was diagnosed with prediabetes at the age of 39. He therefore decided to reduce sugar and carbohydrates, without giving up flavour or shared moments around food.
In his own kitchen, he began adapting favourite everyday recipes. He first created ketchup, followed by other sauces, mayonnaise, baked goods and breakfast mixes. His aim was to make foods with carefully considered ingredients that did not feel like a compromised diet alternative, but still delivered full flavour and enjoyment.
Tom was joined by his long-time friend Ben, a former academic who worked in mathematics and statistics at Imperial College London. He combined Tom’s culinary experience with analysis of scientific research and an interest in metabolic health. Their shared approach led to the creation of fu:di® – food crafted by chefs and backed by science.
Developing fu:di® products led Tom and Ben to take another step. While looking for oils suitable for their recipes, they found that commonly used fats often did not meet their requirements and that not all avocado oils offered the same quality.
They therefore founded the related brand GOOD PHATS, focused on carefully selected olive and avocado oils, ghee and other fats for different types of cooking. This gave them a high-quality foundation consistent with the fu:di® philosophy, while also making the same ingredients available to customers for everyday use.
