H2Orega™ mycelized wild oregano oil is up to twice as effective as Oreganol P73 Original Strength due to its higher bioavailability. Its biggest advantage is its fast absorption, as it is fully soluble in liquids. This makes H2Orega™ Micellised Oil suitable for the little ones among us - the manufacturer recommends adding it to baby drinks.

Suitable for travel, simply drip it into any liquid. It has the same effects as its namesake, Oreganol P73, but without the burning sensation in the throat when ingested directly from the pipette. 5 drops diluted in water you will hardly feel that you are drinking high quality oregano oil.

History of oregano oil

North American Herb & Spice (NAHS) was the first American company to introduce edible oregano oil to the local market in the 1990s. The founders of the herb wild oregano at that time studied it in detail and then personally tested it for many years and today they are considered experts. NAHS Oreganol P73 was studied at the prestigious Georgetown University in Washington for its effectiveness against yeast (candida albicans), and was found to be effective and safe for consumption.

Oregano oil is considered to be the world's most powerful natural antibiotic and antiseptic - it is an effective killer of parasites, viruses, bacteria, yeast and fungi. P73 indicates a high percentage of polyphenol content in this particular brand of oregano oil, the minimum being 65%. These are bactericidal phenols such as carvacrol (substances that kill harmful bacteria). According to Dr. Ingram makes it impossible for any manufacturer to claim that their brand of oregano oil contains over 80% carvacrol without adding synthetic carvacrol or some other adulterant to the extract, as it is very difficult to get that percentage from a wild-growing herb.

To be safe to consume, oregano oil must come from extracts of herbs that grow only in the wild and high mountain areas of the Mediterranean, in countries such as Turkey, Lebanon or, to a lesser extent, Greece. This is the only guarantee that it will be free of pesticides and modern chemicals. Because undiluted oregano oil is very strong, it should be emulsified in a carrier oil such as the extra virgin olive oil used by the NAHS.

Instructions for use

The manufacturer's recommended dosage is at least 5 or more drops per day under the tongue, which can also be called a so-called preventive dose. It is advisable to consult a qualified person who knows your medical condition for specific higher dosages. Mix with any liquid like water, juice, smoothie and you can also add it to baby food - milk, sunar etc.

Note: If you find the taste of the micellised oil still bitter even when diluted, just take less, or drink one drop several times a day in a 250 ml glass of water. It is still oregano oil and will not taste like maple syrup. If you want to tweak it completely to perfection, make a warm tea, put honey in it and then a drop or a couple of H2Oreg.

Oregano oil P73 contains 3 main groups of substances:

1. Phenols

• Natural carvacrol phenol - P73 has more than 65% carvacrol - the high content of this phenol indicates a quality oregano oil.
• Thymol phenol - the content of this phenol in P73 is less than 5%. Oregano oils of poor quality usually contain a higher percentage of this ingredient, which can be problematic in higher concentrations.
• Cuminaldehyde phenol - the main component in cumin oil, Cuminum cyminum. It is a natural aldehyde.

2. Terpenes

Terpenes are an essential component of essential oils. These are volatile fragrances contained in the leaves, fruits, flowers, rhizomes and roots of plants.

3. Alcohols

• Linalool
• Bonreol

Two long-chain alcohols found in oregano oil.

• Geranyl acetate

Esters are part of the fruit of plants and give them their specific aroma.

Origin of wild oregano

The wild oregano plant, native to the Mediterranean mountains, was widely used in ancient Greece - its Greek name, oros ganos, literally means "mountain delight". This plant is completely superior in quality and effectiveness to the common oregano grown in Mexico or other countries.

The oregano plant is absolutely exceptional in its composition. NAHS employs collectors from local villages who collect the herbs by hand in areas that lie at an altitude of nearly 4 km, where they grow freely on the mineral-rich, rocky soil. NAHS supports limited harvesting to preserve and protect these rare herbs. It is this soil that makes the local oregano an exceptional antioxidant.
