Orega-O’s – Oregano P73 & Black Seed Oil Gummies, 60 Gummies apple pectin • coconut blossom nectar & yacon syrup • 30 daily doses • food supplement
Wild oregano oil P73 and cold-pressed black seed oil in apple-pectin gummies. The pectin base uses organic coconut blossom nectar and Peruvian yacon syrup, with Concord grape concentrate. Our customers describe a distinctly herbal flavour.
- 70 mg combined oil blend per two gummies; individual oil amounts are not disclosed.
- Apple pectin: a plant-based alternative to animal gelatine.
- Daily dose: 2 gummies, containing 4 g of sugars.
- 60 gummies: 30 daily doses.
Why Orega-O’s Are Pravé Bio
We stock Orega-O’s as a complement to NAHS’s oregano oils and capsules. Two gummies contain 70 mg of the combined oil blend, without separate amounts for oregano or black seed. Their dose cannot be directly converted into drops or capsules.
The gummy base matters as much to our choice as the botanical oils. NAHS uses apple pectin rather than animal gelatine, with organic coconut blossom nectar and Peruvian yacon syrup instead of cane sugar and tapioca syrup. Concord grape concentrate adds the fruit component. These are sweetened gummies: two contain 4 g of sugars.
NAHS’s wholefood approach considers the wider natural composition of both oils. Cold pressing retains black seed’s fatty acids with accompanying seed compounds; steam distillation collects oregano’s volatile aromatic constituents, including carvacrol. The aim is to keep naturally occurring compounds together rather than focus on a single isolated substance.
Wild oregano P73 and black seed: origins and identity
- P73 is NAHS’s own designation for a blend of oregano oils. It is neither the botanical name of one species nor a general quality grade. NAHS selects edible wild oregano species with naturally high carvacrol and low thymol levels.
- The wild oregano comes from Mediterranean mountain regions, particularly Turkey. Local harvesters pick the oregano by hand. Species, growing conditions and harvest all influence the essential oil’s aromatic composition.
- Black seed is Nigella sativa, also known as black cumin. It is distinct from cumin and caraway. NAHS sources seed for its oil range from the Mediterranean region, particularly Turkey.
- Black seed has a long history in Anatolia and Arabic tradition. Seeds identified in a vessel from Boyalı Höyük date to around 1650 BC. Black seed also appears in the hadith, collections of sayings and traditions associated with the Prophet Muhammad.
Why don’t we list health benefits for Orega-O’s? EU rules govern health claims for food supplements. Ingredient studies alone do not establish a permitted claim for these gummies at their recommended daily dose. Our FAQ explains the distinction between research findings and health claims.
Suitable for
Warnings
- Do not exceed the recommended daily dose.
- Food supplements must not replace a varied, balanced diet. A healthy lifestyle is also important.
- Keep out of reach of young children. These gummies are not ordinary sweets.
- Consult a doctor or pharmacist before use if you take medication, have a medical condition, are pregnant or are breastfeeding.
- Do not use if you are allergic to any ingredient. No separate children’s dose is specified; do not calculate one from the adult dose.
Wild oregano oil P73 and cold-pressed black seed oil
Oregano yields an essential oil; black seed yields a fatty oil. Steam distillation collects volatile oregano constituents, including carvacrol and thymol. Pressing black seed retains its fatty acids alongside naturally occurring seed compounds, including thymoquinone.
NAHS does not artificially increase individual constituent levels. For both oils, its approach favours the naturally occurring mixture over a single isolated compound.
Orega-O’s took more than two years to develop. The finished gummies incorporate both oils in a chewable apple-pectin base with coconut blossom nectar and yacon syrup.
Developing an oil-containing gummy
- Oil, pectin, water and sweetening ingredients must form a stable mixture. Their proportions and the acidity affect firmness and chewiness. Increasing the oil content therefore requires changes to the whole recipe, rather than simply adding more oil.
- There is no single maximum oil content that applies to every gummy. A 2023 study examined structural changes in pectin jellies containing olive oil and model compounds. Changing the oil content altered the pectin network and the sugar’s crystallisation. This is research on model jellies, not a clinical study or a description of NAHS’s manufacturing process.
Herbal flavour, coconut blossom nectar and yacon syrup
Oregano and black seed remain noticeable in the flavour. Feedback from our customers describes a pronounced herbal character that can surprise anyone expecting a sweet fruit jelly. Coconut blossom nectar and yacon syrup add sweetness; Concord grape concentrate supplies the fruit component. There are no added flavourings.
The sweetening ingredients are organic coconut blossom nectar and Peruvian yacon syrup. They replace cane sugar and tapioca syrup in this recipe. Their botanical origin does not make the gummies sugar-free or establish a lower glycaemic index.
- Apple pectin forms the gummy’s gel structure without animal gelatine.
- Citric acid from citrus fruit adjusts the acidity. Acidity also affects how the pectin gel sets.

Oregano gummies, black seed gummies or oil capsules?
Two Orega-O’s gummies contain 70 mg of the oil blend. One Oreganol P73 Original Strength capsule contains 140 mg of oregano and olive oils together. The capsule’s 140 mg includes its olive oil carrier. Halving that weight does not make the capsule equivalent to the gummies: the blends have different ingredients and undisclosed proportions.
The 60:1 comparison, carvacrol percentage and strength name describe different things. NAHS uses 60:1 in its Oreganol P73 comparison of oil with dried oregano leaf. It is not the ratio of oregano oil to olive oil. Steam distillation collects the plant’s volatile aromatic fraction, so the oil does not have the same composition as the dried herb. Original Strength and Super Strength, by contrast, distinguish different proportions of oregano oil in the finished formulation. For Orega-O’s, 60:1 does not describe the whole gummy or the declared 70 mg combined oil blend.
Black Seed Gummies contain black seed oil without added oregano P73 and declare 500 mg of their own blend per two gummies. Oreganol P73 Original Strength capsules and Original Strength drops contain oregano oil in an olive oil carrier, with their own directions. For black seed oil without oregano or a sweetened base, compare 100% pure black seed oil. Explore our black seed range for other black seed preparations, or the wild oregano P73 range to compare oregano formats.
What P73 means—and what the 70 mg covers
- P refers to potency, purity and phenolic power. NAHS uses these terms to explain concentration, purity and the oil’s phenolic constituents. They describe the designation, not an independent certification.
- 73 refers to an average of approximately 73% carvacrol in the oregano oil itself. The naturally occurring proportion varies between harvests. It does not describe the concentration in a finished gummy or in the combined oil blend.
- The 70 mg covers both black seed oil and oregano oil P73 in two gummies. Their relative proportions and the amounts of carvacrol and thymoquinone are not disclosed. You therefore cannot calculate the carvacrol dose by applying 73% to the 70 mg blend.
What else is in the pectin base?
- The ingredients have different roles. Coconut blossom nectar and yacon syrup sweeten the base; apple pectin provides the gel structure. Concord grape concentrate is the fruit component, while citric acid adjusts acidity. The label lists no separate flavourings.
- Sunflower lecithin is not listed in Orega-O’s. It appears in NAHS Black Seed Gummies, which have a different recipe. Do not transfer the ingredients or blend weight from one product to the other.
What wholefood means for these two oils
- NAHS selects ingredients for their wider natural composition. Here that means pressed black seed oil and aromatic oils from selected oregano species. Wholefood does not mean that a pressed oil contains every part of the seed, or that a distilled oil contains every constituent of the herb.
- Both pressing and distillation separate part of the original plant. Black seed fibre and most proteins remain in the press cake; oregano essential oil is the herb’s volatile aromatic fraction. Neither oil has the same composition as the dried or ground plant.
Comparing oregano supplements
- Orega-O’s are a finished blend with a recommended dose of two gummies daily. Undiluted oregano essential oil is not a substitute for this product and should not be dropped directly into the mouth.
- Check the carrier as well as the oregano oil. Finished oral products can use different oils and different daily doses. Follow the directions for the exact product you choose.

North American Herb & Spice: formulation, expertise & in-house manufacturing
From ingredient to finished supplementNAHS develops and manufactures its own supplements. Founder Judy K. Gray remains personally involved in sourcing and formulation, working with the brand’s development, manufacturing and quality-control teams.
Oregano was just the beginning
The range began with Oreganol P73. Judy K. Gray has since developed more than 400 formulas for NAHS and its sister brand, Physician’s Strength, which has a separate range for healthcare practitioners.
The wholefood approach
NAHS aims to retain naturally occurring compounds together. For pressed oils, that means considering the seed’s accompanying compounds as well as its fatty acids; for oregano, the essential oil’s wider aromatic profile. The plant and the part used determine how it is processed.
Beyond oregano
Black seed, turmeric, chaga and wild berries sit alongside fish oils in the range. They appear in capsules, drops, powders and drink blends, each with its own ingredients and directions.

Long-standing relationships at source
NAHS works with established local partners and harvesters. Its wild oregano is picked by hand in the Turkish mountains; other ingredients come from regions including Peru and northern Canada. Knowledge of local plants, harvests and growing conditions informs both ingredient selection and processing.
More than a buying relationship
NAHS has helped fund wells, schools and community facilities. Its Strong Community Causes programme also supports selected projects nominated by customers.
In-house research & development
The development team selects the ingredients, extracts and any carriers for each formula. It also determines the final format, from liquid oils to capsules and powders.
Made in Lake Forest, Illinois
NAHS has its own manufacturing facilities in Lake Forest, near Chicago. Liquid products are bottled on site under the supervision of the quality-control team.
Checks at both ends of production
Incoming ingredients and finished products are tested for identity, levels of selected constituents and unwanted impurities. Quality control continues beyond receipt of the raw material.
Processing to suit the ingredient
Cold pressing, steam distillation, CO₂ extraction, juicing and milling serve different purposes. Seeds yield pressed oils, while distillation can separate essential oils from aromatic herbs.
Knowing the source
Long-standing partners and local harvesters connect NAHS with the places its ingredients come from. Both the plant species and its growing environment inform the choice of raw material.
GMP & facility certifications
Manufacturing follows GMP principles. The facility holds organic, Kosher and Halal certifications; these do not automatically apply to every individual product.

Frequently asked questions
What are Orega-O’s, and how do they differ from Black Seed Gummies?
Orega-O’s contain both wild oregano oil P73 and cold-pressed black seed oil. Two gummies supply 70 mg of the combined oils. Black Seed Gummies have no added oregano P73 and declare 500 mg of their own blend per two gummies. Those figures describe different mixtures; they do not establish a ratio of effects or disclose how much black seed oil each product supplies.
The other ingredients differ too. Orega-O’s use Concord grape concentrate; Black Seed Gummies use pomegranate concentrate and include sunflower lecithin. Both have a plant-based pectin base. Compare the full ingredient lists and label quantities when choosing between them.

What does P73 mean, and how much carvacrol is in the gummies?
P73 is North American Herb & Spice’s designation for its blend of wild oregano oils. It is neither a botanical species nor an independent certification. P refers to potency, purity and phenolic power; 73 to an average of approximately 73% carvacrol in the oregano oil itself. The naturally occurring proportion can vary between harvests.
It does not mean that a gummy, or its combined oil blend, is 73% carvacrol. The proportions of oregano and black seed oils are not disclosed, so multiplying 70 mg by 73% would give an unsupported result. The label also does not quantify thymoquinone from the black seed oil.
How should you read 60:1 versus 20:1? These are the figures in NAHS’s comparison of oil with dried oregano leaf. Sixty is three times twenty; that arithmetic does not establish three times the health effect. The comparison gives neither a defined mass-based calculation nor a batch-specific extraction yield. It cannot tell you how many grams of dried oregano correspond to a softgel, drop or gummy. Compare the declared oils and, where available, carvacrol amounts at each product’s recommended daily dose. For Orega-O’s, 60:1 does not describe the whole gummy or the declared 70 mg combined oil blend.

Does 70 mg mean 70 mg of oregano oil?
The 70 mg covers both oils together in the recommended daily dose of two gummies. It is not 70 mg of oregano oil alone, carvacrol or thymoquinone, and it is not the total weight of the gummies. Dividing the declared quantity by two gives an average of 35 mg of the blend per gummy; the recommended daily dose remains two.
Check what a capsule’s declared weight includes as well. The 140 mg in an Oreganol P73 Original Strength capsule includes oregano and olive oils. Half that blend weight does not mean half the effect, or establish an equivalent gummy dose.

Are oregano and black seed oil gummies sugar-free?
No. Two Orega-O’s contain 4 g of sugars within 5 g of total carbohydrate. Organic coconut blossom nectar and organic Peruvian yacon syrup supply the sweetening ingredients instead of cane sugar and tapioca syrup. They still contribute sugars to the finished product.
Yacon’s presence does not establish a low glycaemic index. Its fructooligosaccharides are not quantified on the label, and a glycaemic index for the finished gummies has not been established in our documentation. We do not describe Orega-O’s as sugar-free, keto or automatically suitable for diabetes. Count the full daily dose when monitoring carbohydrate intake, and discuss suitability for diabetes with your healthcare professional.

What do Orega-O’s taste like?
Expect a pronounced herbal flavour from oregano and black seed. Customer feedback tells us this can surprise people expecting a predominantly sweet fruit jelly. Coconut blossom nectar and yacon syrup add sweetness, Concord grape concentrate supplies the fruit component, and citric acid adjusts acidity. The ingredient list contains no added flavourings.
Apple pectin supplies the chewy gel structure instead of animal gelatine. The herbs remain noticeable alongside the sweetening ingredients. Flavour intensity cannot tell you the amount of carvacrol or thymoquinone, or demonstrate a health effect; those cannot be measured by taste.

How many oregano gummies should I take?
Chew two Orega-O’s daily. This dose supplies 70 mg of the combined oil blend and 4 g of sugars. Do not exceed it. The label does not specify taking Orega-O’s with meals.
Do not increase the number to compensate for flavour or to match a dose of drops or capsules. Different formats have their own ingredients and instructions. A bottle contains 30 daily doses, which describes the available quantity rather than a recommended course of continuous use.

Are Orega-O’s suitable for children?
The label gives neither a separate children’s dose nor a minimum age for children’s use. A gummy format, sweetening ingredients or a plant-based recipe cannot establish suitability for a particular child. These gummies contain both botanical oils and should not be treated as ordinary sweets.
Before giving them to a child, ask a paediatrician or pharmacist to assess the full ingredient list, the 70 mg blend per two gummies and any other products the child takes. Do not calculate a child’s dose from the adult dose. Keep the bottle out of reach of young children.

Can I take them during pregnancy, while breastfeeding or with medication?
Ask a doctor or pharmacist before use during pregnancy or breastfeeding, with medication, or if you have a medical condition. Show them the full ingredient list and recommended daily dose. Culinary use of oregano or black seed does not establish the suitability of their concentrated oils in a food supplement.
We do not have a complete interaction assessment or a separate dose for Orega-O’s in these circumstances. We therefore cannot confirm the safety of a particular combination or suggest adjusting the dose yourself. Do not use the product if you are allergic to any ingredient.

Can I take Orega-O’s alongside oregano oil drops?
Orega-O’s are an additional format in the NAHS range, not an instruction to take several full doses together. Both the gummies and Oreganol supply oregano. Adding a black seed preparation may also duplicate the black seed ingredient.
Compare every product’s full ingredient list and directions. Because the individual oil amounts in Orega-O’s are undisclosed, its 70 mg blend cannot be used to calculate a precise total oregano dose after adding drops. Discuss the combination with a doctor or pharmacist, particularly if you take medication. A different format alone is not a reason to add another supplement.

Why don’t you list health benefits for these gummies?
Food-supplement marketing in the EU must comply with the rules on nutrition and health claims. Studies of oregano, black seed or isolated carvacrol do not automatically justify the same claims for these gummies. The ingredient form, quantity, conditions of use and legal status of the proposed claim all matter. Botanical claims also require individual legal assessment.
We explain the documented ingredients, sourcing, processing and daily-dose quantities, alongside genuine customer feedback about flavour. These details help you choose a product; they do not promise treatment, disease prevention or a guaranteed health outcome. Food supplements must not replace a varied, balanced diet and a healthy lifestyle.

Are Orega-O’s certified organic?
The organic descriptions identify particular ingredients, rather than certifying the whole product. In Orega-O’s these include coconut blossom nectar, Peruvian yacon syrup, apple pectin and citric acid. Neither their organic status nor certification of the manufacturing facility establishes organic certification for the finished gummies.
The product is described as vegan and uses apple pectin instead of animal gelatine. Vegan and organic answer different questions: one concerns animal-derived ingredients, while the other concerns organic production and certification. They are not interchangeable descriptions.

How long does a bottle last, and how should I store it?
At two gummies daily, a bottle of 60 lasts 30 days. This is the number of doses available, not a recommendation to take the product continuously for a month. The count also does not establish a period of use after opening.
Close the bottle after use and store it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, heat and young children. Follow the best-before date and any further instructions on your particular bottle.
