Re-Lyte® Kids – Grape Flavour kids' hydration • electrolytes • sugar-free • dye-free • paediatrician approved • mineral supplement • 45 servings
Re-Lyte Kids Hydration (grape flavour) is a pure, paediatrician-consulted alternative to sweetened drinks for kids aged 4 and up. It is based on unrefined Redmond Real Salt® from an underground prehistoric deposit, complemented by electrolytes in a gentler dose for children's daily drinking.
A key 340 mg of sodium per serving is complemented by potassium, calcium, magnesium, and chlorides. The grape taste is created by organic grape and other organic natural flavours, the colour is provided by blueberry and carrot extract, and the sweetness comes from stevia. Free from added sugar, GMOs, and synthetic dyes; the package contains 45 servings and, with a dosage of 1 scoop per day, lasts approximately 45 days, or about 6 weeks.
Why we included Redmond Re-Lyte™ in the PraveBio.cz range
Redmond is an American family business that produces functional products from two raw materials sourced from their own underground deposit in Utah: unrefined sea salt Real Salt and bentonite clay Redmond Clay. The extraction is done without chemical processing; the salt is not bleached and retains its natural trace minerals and characteristic sweet-salty taste. The clay is finely ground bentonite from the same deposit, traditionally used in skin care and households (e.g., wraps and other forms of topical application); it is exceptional in that it is also intended for internal use. Neither the salt nor the clay contains microplastics or modern heavy metals.
Re-Lyte™ is an electrolyte range using Real Salt, a natural source of sodium and more than 60 trace minerals. Thanks to the taste of this salt, the electrolytes have a gentler, naturally mineral salty profile than most comparable products. The formulation is free from added sugar, artificial sweeteners, and fillers. The range includes powder blends for everyday hydration (Hydration), sport and training (Pre-Workout), energy and performance (Energy), and immune support (Immunity), as well as capsules and kids' electrolytes.
Re-Lyte Kids Hydration – Pure Electrolyte Mix for Active Kids
Re-Lyte Kids Hydration is a hydrating electrolyte drink for kids, teenagers, and those who prefer a milder mineral profile than standard adult electrolytes. The formula was consulted with paediatricians and contains a lower concentration of electrolytes per serving. It is based on ancient sea salt Redmond Real Salt®, complemented by potassium, magnesium, calcium, chlorides, and coconut water powder.
- Intended for: kids from 4 years old, teenagers, and active athletes who need a gentler electrolyte drink without added sugar.
- Principle: replenishing sodium, potassium, chlorides, magnesium, and calcium in lower concentrations than the standard Re-Lyte Hydration range.
- Does not contain: added sugar, synthetic dyes, caffeine, GMO ingredients, or unnecessary fillers.
- Usage: mix one level scoop (4.8 g) in 450–530 ml of cold water and shake well.
Compared to regular sweet drinks for kids, Re-Lyte Kids is based on minerals, not sugar. The grape variant uses organic grape flavour and other organic natural flavours; the colour comes from blueberry and carrot extract. Sweetness is provided by stevia leaf extract, without added sugar.
The drink has a mild fruity taste and does not taste overly salty and leaves a refreshing taste impression that makes it easier for kids to drink regularly. The lower salt content and sweeter taste profile better match children's preferences without needing to add sugar or synthetic dyes. It can be diluted with more water if the child prefers an even milder taste.

- Kids and Sugary Drinks – sweetened sodas are among the easily overlooked sources of free sugar in children's diets. A regular can of sweetened drink can contain approximately 10 teaspoons of sugar.
- School Day and Hydration – even mild fluid deficiency can be associated with fatigue in children, reduced willingness to drink, and lower comfort during a long day. A gently flavoured drink without added sugar can be a practical way to make drinking water more enjoyable for a child.
- Underground Origin of Salt – Unlike modern sea salt, which according to studies published in the journal Scientific Reports (2018) often contains microplastics, Redmond salt comes from the protected Arapien Shale deposit. This deposit was formed by the evaporation of the sea during the Jurassic period and has remained isolated from current ocean pollution for millions of years.

Why Choose the Redmond Brand
The Redmond brand originated in the American state of Utah in the late 1950s, when the Bosshardt family discovered a large salt deposit while farming their own land. It was not an industrial discovery, but a natural find in the landscape that the family had been cultivating for a long time.
The deposit was formed by the drying of the prehistoric Sundance Sea and was covered for millions of years by sediments and bentonite clay, formed from volcanic ash. This natural cover isolated the salt from the surrounding environment and contributed to its stability without the need for chemical processing. The same layer's bentonite was later used by Redmond as a raw material for products based on bentonite clay.
From the beginning, Redmond has worked with a single, long-term controlled deposit.Salt is not refined but is processed mechanically, without bleaching and without additives. This preserves its natural mineral profile.
Over time, a local source has become a producer known for products based on unrefined salt – from table salts to electrolyte mixes. The brand remains family-owned, continuing the original approach: clear origin, transparent composition, and straightforward use.
A single salt deposit in Utah
All salt comes from a single underground deposit in the state of Utah, USA. Redmond does not mix sources or rely on anonymous global supplies.
Bentonite geology
The deposit was long covered by bentonite clay formed from volcanic ash. This layer naturally isolated the salt from the surface environment.
Unrefined processing
The salt is not bleached or chemically cleaned; processing is mechanical and gentle. Due to its underground origin, it is not salt obtained by evaporating current seawater.
Trace mineral content
Redmond Real Salt® naturally contains over 60 trace minerals and elements, including magnesium, potassium, calcium, and iron.
Same source since the late 1950s
Mining and processing have been carried out from the same deposit since the late 1950s. The source remains unchanged, which is significant for natural raw materials.
Family business
The brand remains in the hands of the founding Bosshardt family. It is not a brand with frequently changing owners and strategies.
Made in the USA
Mining and processing take place in the USA in food-grade facilities. The result has a clear origin and is not a blend from multiple countries.
Functional products
Unrefined salt is the basis of Re-Lyte electrolytes, spices, and grill mixes. Redmond processes bentonite clay for both external and internal use depending on the product type.

FAQ
Why was Re-Lyte Kids developed in collaboration with paediatricians?
Children's fluid and mineral intake cannot simply be derived from adult doses. Re-Lyte Kids therefore uses a gentler electrolyte profile than the standard Re-Lyte Hydration.
One dose provides 340 mg of sodium, 150 mg of potassium, 540 mg of chloride, 50 mg of calcium, 25 mg of magnesium, and 65 mg of coconut water powder. The aim is a drink that children can more easily consume throughout the day without adopting the high mineral concentration of the adult mix.

What is the difference between Re-Lyte Kids and pharmacy rehydration solutions?
Pharmacy rehydration solutions are intended for specific conditions, such as fluid loss associated with diarrhoea or vomiting. Re-Lyte Kids is a regular electrolyte drink for everyday hydration, sports, travel, or warm weather.
Re-Lyte Kids contains no added sugar or glucose. It does not replace a therapeutic rehydration solution or a doctor's recommendation in acute health issues.

Does Re-Lyte Kids contain synthetic dyes or caffeine?
No. Re-Lyte Kids Hydration is free from synthetic dyes and caffeine. The grape flavour colour comes from plant sources; it is an extract from blueberries and carrots.
The grape variant's flavour is derived from organic grape flavour and other organic natural flavours. Sweetness is provided by stevia leaf extract, not added sugar.

Can a child drink Re-Lyte Kids every day?
Re-Lyte Kids is intended for daily hydration of children, especially during play, sports, travel, or warm weather. The need for fluids and minerals varies according to age, activity, climate, and overall diet.
With multiple doses throughout the day, monitor the total electrolyte intake. For younger children, those with health restrictions, or those taking medication, it is advisable to consult a paediatrician.

How does stevia in the drink relate to dental health?
Re-Lyte Kids has 0 g of sugar per dose and sweetness is ensured by stevia leaf extract. Unlike sweetened sodas or juices, it does not add free sugars that serve as a source for bacteria involved in acid formation in the mouth.
However, it is not a dental protection product. The drink has an acidic flavour component, so it is advisable not to sip it throughout the day and to alternate it with plain water. The foundation of dental care remains brushing teeth and regular check-ups with a dentist.

Why is coconut water included in the powder and how should the drink be prepared?
Coconut water powder is included in one dose in the amount of 65 mg. It complements the mineral composition of the drink and is the reason why the product is labelled as containing coconut.
Prepare the drink in cold water and always shake it well. If the child prefers a milder taste, more water can be used. Boiling water is not needed for preparation.

What do the small dots that may appear at the bottom of the bottle mean?
Small particles may be related to the mineral components of unrefined Real Salt® or the plant extracts used for colour. They do not automatically indicate a product defect.
Shake the bottle again before drinking. Natural sediment is common in mixtures with mineral and plant components, especially if the drink has been standing for a long time.

Where did the Redmond brand originate?
Redmond originates from the American state of Utah. The brand is closely associated with the salt deposit near the town of Redmond, where Redmond Real Salt® is mined.
This origin is also the basis for part of the Re-Lyte range: electrolyte mixes use Real Salt® as a source of sodium and chloride, supplemented with other minerals.

What does Real Salt® mean in Redmond products?
Real Salt® is unrefined ancient sea salt from an underground deposit in Utah. It is not salt from the open current sea nor a blend from multiple anonymous sources.
Redmond processes it mechanically without bleaching and without common anti-caking additives. In electrolyte drinks, it forms the basis of the mineral profile.

Is Redmond an organic brand?
Redmond is not universally an organic brand in terms of the entire range. For mineral raw materials, such as salt or electrolyte minerals, organic certification is not used in the same way as for agricultural raw materials.
For Re-Lyte Kids, it is relevant that the formula uses organic natural flavours. For the Redmond brand, the main criteria are traceable origin, simple composition, and limitation of unnecessary additives.

Why does Redmond emphasise simplicity of composition?
Simplicity is one of the main principles of the Redmond brand. For Redmond products, this means understandable formulas, clear origin of key ingredients, and a minimum of components that do not have a specific function in the formula.
In Re-Lyte Kids, this approach is reflected in the absence of added sugar, synthetic dyes, and caffeine. The taste, colour, and mineral profile can be directly read from the composition.

What other products does Redmond produce?
Redmond is best known for its unrefined Real Salt®. The same approach to the origin of raw materials is also the basis for electrolyte mixes Re-Lyte, seasoning blends, and bentonite clay products.
The range is united by simple composition, clear origin of key ingredients, and mechanical processing where the nature of the raw material allows.

Redmond is an American brand built around simple, clean and minimally processed ingredients. Its story began in 1958 in central Utah, where brothers Milo and Lamar Bosshardt began working an underground deposit of ancient sea salt. This is the source of Real Salt® – an unrefined salt that became the foundation of Redmond’s present-day range.
The original business grew into a brand with a history rooted in two mineral resources from Utah – ancient sea salt and bentonite clay formed from ancient volcanic ash. Real Salt® and Redmond Clay® were gradually joined by Re-Lyte® electrolytes, Seasonings, Earthpaste® oral care and the newer Roots and Leaf ranges. Each category has a different use, but they share an emphasis on traceable ingredient origins, simple formulations and fewer unnecessary additives.
What Redmond products are known for:
- Its own salt source in Utah – Real Salt® comes from an underground deposit of ancient sea salt rather than being produced by evaporating water from modern oceans.
- Minimal processing – Real Salt® is mined, crushed and graded by grain size without industrial refining or bleaching.
- Transparency – Redmond makes the mineral analyses for Real Salt® and Redmond Clay® publicly available, along with documentation for selected certifications.
- Simple formulations – the focus on simple, easy-to-understand ingredients extends across electrolytes, seasonings, protein nutrition and personal care.
Who is behind Redmond
Redmond was founded in 1958 by brothers Milo and Lamar Bosshardt, farmers from the town of Redmond in Utah. They knew about the salt beneath their land but initially had no reason to use it commercially. A period of drought changed this, prompting them to look for another way to provide financially for their families. The underground deposit then became the foundation of a new business.
The Bosshardt family developed the company over the following decades. In the early 1990s, Rhett Roberts joined the business, first as a consultant and then as general manager. He later bought Redmond and now serves as CEO of Redmond Inc. Under his leadership, the original business expanded into other areas. Roberts is also the founder of Redmond Heritage Farms, which develops the concept of traditional, minimally processed farm foods.
Brand vision
Redmond aims to create products and environments that encourage people to make more considered everyday choices. The brand bases its approach on four areas: Real Ingredients, Elevated Human Experience, Intentional Living and Ongoing Evolution.
The first of these is directly reflected in its products. Redmond prioritises simple, clean and real ingredients and formulations that can be explained clearly. This principle has gradually extended from Real Salt® to electrolytes, seasonings, protein nutrition and personal care.
Intentional Living takes a broader view of everyday life: thinking consciously about what you use, what you eat and the habits you develop. Ongoing Evolution reflects the brand’s willingness to keep learning and improving both its products and the way it operates.
This approach also includes specific environmental and community initiatives. The Redmond Life Green Team works on areas such as reducing single-use plastics, cutting waste in shipping and developing recycling.

Brand mission
Redmond’s mission is to create products and experiences that encourage people to live more intentionally. In practice, the brand links this approach primarily with simple, real ingredients, transparency and ongoing product improvement.
This philosophy is particularly clear in Real Salt®. The salt comes from Redmond’s own underground source in Utah and is neither industrially refined nor bleached. It therefore retains the natural mineral character of the original deposit.
Re-Lyte® brings the mineral base of Real Salt® into electrolyte hydration. Seasoning blends extend its culinary use, while the newer Roots and Earthpaste ranges show how Redmond applies the same philosophy to protein nutrition and personal care.
Redmond therefore does not define itself solely as a salt producer. Real Salt® remains its historical foundation, but the current range is connected by a broader principle: knowing the origin of key ingredients, using straightforward formulations and avoiding unnecessary processing.
What are Real Salt® and Re-Lyte®, and what do they offer?
Real Salt® is an unrefined salt mined from an underground deposit in Utah, USA. It is not produced by evaporating modern seawater and is neither chemically refined nor bleached after mining. Alongside sodium chloride, it naturally contains other mineral elements that contribute to its characteristic colour and taste.
According to the available analytical data, sodium chloride makes up approximately 91–96 % by weight of Real Salt®. Its mineral profile includes calcium, potassium, magnesium and iron, among others, and the manufacturer reports more than 60 naturally occurring trace elements.
From a nutritional perspective, however, Real Salt® should primarily be regarded as salt, and therefore a source of sodium and chloride. The presence of dozens of trace elements does not mean that a typical serving of salt provides nutritionally significant amounts of all these minerals.
Real Salt® also contains only naturally occurring trace amounts of iodine. It is therefore not equivalent to iodised salt where salt is intended to provide a significant source of iodine in the diet.
Re-Lyte® is an electrolyte range based on the mineral foundation of Real Salt®. The current range includes several formulations for different uses, so it is important to check the ingredients of the specific variant.
The core Re-Lyte® Hydration formula is for replenishing electrolytes, for example during physical activity and heavier sweating. The formula combines sodium with other electrolytes; for magnesium, the manufacturer uses malate and bisglycinate.
For customers monitoring their carbohydrate intake, an important feature is the no added sugar formulation. Individual flavours and variants may differ, however, so it is worth checking the current label for the specific product.
Real Salt® and Re-Lyte® therefore serve different roles: the former is primarily a culinary salt, while the latter is a purposefully formulated electrolyte blend.
Redmond certifications and quality
Redmond’s quality control is based on knowing the origin of its key mineral resources and publishing analytical documentation. The manufacturer provides separate mineral analyses for Real Salt® and Redmond Clay®, along with other documents relating to safety and certifications. This transparency matters for natural mineral materials because it provides specific measured values rather than general claims about purity.
Real Salt® is OMRI Listed, allowing it to be used in certified organic production or food processing under the USDA National Organic Program rules. Redmond also publishes documentation for its Kosher certification. With the newer Roots range, the manufacturer has extended independent verification to protein nutrition: Roots Protein has received Informed Protein and Informed Choice certifications, covering verification of declared protein content, manufacturing standards and testing for banned substances.
Why choose Redmond: quality, purity, verified safety

The natural mineral profile of Real Salt®
Real Salt® comes from an underground deposit in central Utah, rather than from a modern ocean. Its origin is therefore fundamentally different from salts produced by evaporating present-day seawater.
After mining, the salt is mechanically processed and graded by crystal size. Redmond offers it in forms ranging from very fine through standard cooking salt to coarse crystals and Kosher Salt. The base ingredient is neither chemically refined nor bleached.
Real Salt® is therefore not perfectly white. Individual crystals may have pink, reddish or other natural tones associated with the mineral composition of the deposit.
What makes the difference
A practical distinction of Redmond’s own underground source is the traceable origin of the key ingredient. Real Salt® is directly linked to a specific deposit in Utah, and Redmond publishes its elemental analysis.
The same unrefined salt is available in several grain sizes depending on whether you need it for everyday cooking, baking, seasoning finished dishes or using in a grinder. Real Salt® also forms the basis of seasoning blends and other culinary products.
For electrolyte hydration, the brand has a separate Re-Lyte® range that combines sodium with other electrolytes. Real Salt® itself should therefore not automatically be treated as a complete electrolyte blend.
What makes Redmond products different
Redmond’s main distinction lies in combining long-standing experience with its own mineral resources and gradual expansion into other categories without moving away from the principle of simple, straightforward formulations.
Real Salt® is the original foundation of the brand. Re-Lyte® uses it in electrolyte products, while Seasonings extend its culinary use into seasoning blends. Redmond Clay® uses bentonite clay, and Earthpaste® incorporates it into oral care.
The range has gradually expanded to include Roots and Leaf. Roots Protein offers protein nutrition based on whey protein and a simple formulation, while Leaf develops the area of everyday personal care.
Another distinct part of the Redmond story is Redmond Clay®. This natural bentonite clay, also known as montmorillonite, is mined by the brand from its own deposit near its salt mine by Redmond, Utah. Its origins lie in ancient volcanic activity in the area: the material formed through the weathering of volcanic ash deposited millions of years ago. Redmond states that the local clay naturally contains both calcium and sodium, along with other trace mineral elements.
Bentonite clay appears not only as standalone Redmond Clay®, but also in other products from the brand. It is, for example, one of the core mineral ingredients in Earthpaste® oral care, while Redmond also draws on its experience with salt and clay in the newer Leaf range. Salt and bentonite clay are therefore the two original mineral resources from which Redmond’s broader present-day range has gradually developed.
