Fisetin powder: smoke tree extract with zinc and vitamin D3

Why do we describe the added nutrients’ benefits rather than fisetin’s? We do not have an authorised health claim for fisetin that we can use in this product description. The benefits stated here therefore refer to zinc and vitamin D. Our FAQ explains how research differs from an authorised health claim.

Smoke tree extract, with zinc and vitamin D3. Fisetin belongs to the flavonoid family of plant compounds. L Cell sources it from European smoke tree, botanically known as Cotinus coggygria. Zinc contributes to the protection of cells from oxidative stress; both zinc and vitamin D contribute to normal immune function.

Fisetin without capsules: stir it into breakfast. The powder has a neutral taste, though some people may notice a lightly herbal note. L Cell recommends mixing it into yoghurt or food containing fat, such as olive oil. A measuring scoop is included. Find preparation ideas under How to use and in the FAQs.

Standardised to at least 98% fisetin. This specifies the proportion of fisetin in the botanical extract. Two scoops supply 500 mg of extract; the table lists zinc and vitamin D3 separately.

15 g, lasting approximately 30 days at two scoops daily. The directions allow 1–2 scoops each morning. Use the same daily dose when comparing how long different packs will last.

There is more to this recipe than the botanical extract. Zinc is a mineral; D3 is a vitamin. Each has its own role, with individual amounts listed in the composition table below.

Who might prefer the powder?

  • Anyone who prefers not to swallow capsules. Stir the measured dose into a small amount of food you enjoy.
  • Vegans and vegetarians. L Cell labels the powder as vegan; choose a plant-based yoghurt if preferred.

Suitability

Important information

  • Do not exceed the recommended daily dose.
  • Food supplements should not replace a varied diet. A varied, balanced diet and a healthy lifestyle are important for good health.
  • Keep out of the reach of young children.
  • If you take medication, are pregnant or breastfeeding, speak to your doctor or pharmacist before use. Show them the full ingredient list and details of any other supplements you take.

What makes the powder format different?

A format for mixing, with approximately a month in each pack. Add the powder to breakfast and choose the base to suit your tastes, from dairy yoghurt to a plant-based alternative.

  • Smoke tree extract. The botanical ingredient is Cotinus coggygria.
  • At least 98% fisetin in the extract. This is the standardised concentration of the botanical ingredient.
  • 500 mg of extract per two scoops. Zinc and vitamin D3 have separate entries in the table.
  • Zinc. Contributes to the protection of cells from oxidative stress.
  • Vitamin D3. Vitamin D contributes to the normal function of the immune system.
  • Measuring scoop included. For preparing 1–2 scoops as directed.
  • Approximately 30 days per pack. At two scoops daily.
  • Vegan. As labelled by L Cell.
  • Independent laboratory checks. Each report identifies the sample and the scope of testing.
  • Prefer a pre-measured format? Explore fisetin capsules, taken with water.

Comparing flavonoids? L Cell also offers quercetin powder for mixing into food and quercetin capsules for a pre-measured dose. Quercetin and fisetin are different plant compounds: compare the full ingredients and directions for each format.

What is fisetin, and what does 98% extract mean?

Fisetin is a flavonol, part of the wider flavonoid family. Flavonoids occur naturally in plants. Some fruit and vegetables contain fisetin, but this supplement uses smoke tree extract as its source.

An extract can have a specified concentration. Extraction obtains selected components from plant material. Here, a minimum 98% fisetin specification means at least 98 mg of fisetin per 100 mg of extract.

500 mg of extract at a minimum 98% concentration provides at least 490 mg of fisetin. This is calculated from the declared composition. Extract weight and fisetin weight are therefore distinct; the finished formula also contains zinc and vitamin D3.

Compare the plant source, fisetin concentration and amount per recommended dose. These details describe composition, rather than the percentage absorbed or a guaranteed effect.

Fisetin and sumac: how do these products differ?

Smoke tree and culinary sumac are different plants. L Cell sources its fisetin from Cotinus coggygria, also known as smoke tree. The sumac used as a spice is Rhus coriaria. Common names can be confusing, so check the botanical name and the amount of the ingredient you are looking for.

Looking for sumac’s tangy flavour? Try OregaWILD seasoning, a blend of sumac, oregano, garlic and onion for dips, salads and marinades. It is a culinary seasoning, with no declared fisetin content.

For vitamin C from plant ingredients, compare Purely-C capsules. The formula contains sumac alongside camu camu, acerola and rosehip. Its ingredients differ from L Cell’s fisetin formula; the presence of sumac does not make it an equivalent source of fisetin.

L Cell specifies both the proportion of fisetin in its extract and the amount of extract in a daily dose. Zinc and vitamin D3 complete the formula. Choose according to whether you want a seasoning, a vitamin C supplement or a product with a declared fisetin content. The amount of seasoning or the dose of another supplement cannot be converted into scoops or capsules of L Cell.

Why add zinc and vitamin D3?

  • The botanical extract is the main ingredient; the added nutrients have roles of their own. Zinc contributes to the protection of cells from oxidative stress. Both zinc and vitamin D contribute to normal immune function. These contributions belong to the named mineral and vitamin.
  • Vitamin D also contributes to the maintenance of normal bones and normal muscle function. This formula uses D3. The individual entries in the table show what each nutrient adds alongside the botanical extract.
  • Two scoops provide 1.5 mg of zinc and 0.75 µg of vitamin D3, each supplying 15% of its nutrient reference value, or NRV. One scoop provides half of these amounts.
  • NRVs help you compare vitamin and mineral intakes. Each nutrient has its own reference value, so matching percentages do not mean matching weights. No NRV has been established for fisetin; its proportion in the extract is described by standardisation.
  • If you take several supplements, review your total zinc and vitamin D intake across them. Compare the daily doses and individual nutrient amounts, rather than relying on the main ingredient named on the front of each pack.

Biohacking: food, movement and daily habits

Biohacking uses science, technology and changes to everyday habits to explore how the body and mind function. It can include adjustments to diet, sleep and exercise, meditation, breathing exercises or tracking selected measurements. Supplements are only one part of that wider picture.

What does biohacking involve?

  • Food: a varied diet, regular eating habits and an understanding of nutrient intake.
  • Sleep and rest: keeping track of sleep duration, bedtimes and time to rest during the day.
  • Movement: regular activity that suits your fitness and circumstances.
  • Tracking: a diary, app or wearable device to record habits and how they change.

Keeping a record helps you see what has changed in your routine. Alter your diet, exercise and several supplements at once, and it becomes harder to identify what made a difference. Consistency and a clear record of what you take are useful starting points.

Where do supplements fit in?

Compare ingredients, quantities and directions, rather than relying on a product name alone. With L Cell supplements, look at the main ingredients, added vitamins and minerals, powder or capsule format, and laboratory documentation. A varied, balanced diet and a healthy lifestyle remain the foundation.

PraveBio also stocks brands with different specialisms. NoordCode offers functional foods and supplements, including MCT oils, collagen and electrolytes.

Jigsaw Health is an American family business founded in 2005 by Pat Sullivan and his son, Patrick Sullivan Jr. Magnesium and other mineral supplements feature prominently in its range.

BiOptimizers makes food supplements, including enzyme formulas such as the MassZymes digestive enzyme range. Each brand and product has its own composition, so compare the specific formula you are considering.

L Cell: its own laboratory and independent checks

L Cell develops and manufactures food supplements. The brand identifies its own laboratory in Vilnius, Lithuania, as the place where its formulas are made. That gives customers a traceable production location and a clearer picture of the company behind the range.

The range includes glycine with NAC, botanical extracts containing quercetin or resveratrol, and mineral supplements. Many products come as both powders and capsules. Choose the format that suits your routine, while checking the specific ingredients and daily dose for each pack.

Independent laboratories regularly check declared content and unwanted substances, including heavy metals and mycotoxins. Content testing measures the substances analysed; contaminant testing looks for unwanted impurities. Results apply to the sample and tests identified in the laboratory report.

The brand’s documentation also includes GMP and ISO 22000:2018 certificates issued to Longevita Lab and H Drop B.V. Their stated scope covers the development and sale of food supplements and snack foods. They document defined procedures and management systems; ingredient quantities require separate analytical testing.

  • Protect from moisture and follow the pack’s storage instructions. Check your pack for its best-before date.

Fisetin powder questions, answered

Why do the stated benefits refer to zinc and vitamin D rather than fisetin?

Research findings and authorised health claims serve different purposes. Studies investigate substances under specific conditions. A health claim describes a relationship between a substance and health, for example when selling food. Its use must meet EU requirements; the existence of a study alone is not enough.

We do not have an authorised claim for fisetin that we can use here. We therefore explain its botanical source, standardisation and use. Zinc and vitamin D have authorised functions that can be stated when the conditions of use are met. Those contributions belong to the nutrients, rather than to fisetin. This page distinguishes what the product contains from the health benefits we can state.

What is fisetin, and where does it come from?

Fisetin is a flavonol within the broader flavonoid family. It occurs in some plants, including strawberries and apples. For this L Cell product, the source is smoke tree extract, identified on the label as Cotinus coggygria.

The source plant and the compound are different things. The botanical name tells you where the extract comes from. The minimum 98% figure describes how much of that extract is fisetin. Fruit, whole plant material and a standardised extract are therefore different ingredients.

How do fisetin powder and capsules differ?

The main difference is preparation. Measure the powder and stir it into food, such as yoghurt. Capsules have pre-measured contents and are taken with water. Their shells are hypromellose, rather than gelatine.

Both composition tables list 500 mg of extract, 1.5 mg of zinc and 0.75 µg of vitamin D3 per two scoops or two capsules. You can choose according to how you prefer to take the product. The format alone does not demonstrate faster absorption or stronger effects; follow the directions for your chosen pack.

What do 98% fisetin and 500 mg mean?

98% is the minimum fisetin concentration in the smoke tree extract. The 500 mg figure refers to extract in two scoops, rather than one. At a minimum 98% concentration, 500 mg of extract corresponds to at least 490 mg of fisetin.

One scoop provides half the amounts shown in the table. This also halves the zinc and vitamin D3 intake. The 98% figure does not describe effectiveness or how much the body absorbs.

What should I mix fisetin powder into, and when should I take it?

The directions are 1–2 scoops each morning, mixed into food containing fat. Choose yoghurt, a plant-based yoghurt containing fat, or a small amount of food with olive oil. Start with a base you already enjoy eating.

Prepare an amount you will finish. Otherwise, some of the supplement will remain in the uneaten food. This preparation method follows L Cell’s directions; it does not establish a specific absorption percentage or guarantee greater effects.

Can I add fisetin powder to hot coffee or tea?

Choose cold food or food at room temperature for this powder. L Cell advises against adding fisetin to hot drinks. Yoghurt or another food containing fat offers a breakfast option in line with the directions.

If you are making a hot breakfast, set aside a small amount and let it cool first. Then stir in the measured powder and eat the entire amount. We do not have a verified temperature threshold for this product, so we do not promise that a particular temperature preserves its properties.

Why does the formula also contain zinc and vitamin D3?

Each added nutrient has its own functions. Zinc contributes to the protection of cells from oxidative stress. Zinc and vitamin D both contribute to normal immune function; vitamin D also contributes to the maintenance of normal bones and normal muscle function.

The table lists their amounts and NRVs separately. Two scoops provide 15% NRV of each nutrient. These figures do not establish that zinc or vitamin D amplifies fisetin’s effects. Include any other supplements when reviewing your total intake of these nutrients.

Is fisetin the same as quercetin?

No. Fisetin and quercetin are different plant compounds in the flavonoid family. Related names and a shared family do not mean identical supplement formulas or interchangeable doses.

To compare, explore quercetin powder or quercetin capsules. Look at the extract source, standardisation and other ingredients. L Cell uses smoke tree extract for fisetin and a different botanical source for quercetin. Comparing formulas helps with selection; it is not a recommendation to take both supplements together.

Can I take fisetin with medication?

Speak to your doctor or pharmacist before adding this supplement. Show them the full formula and a list of your medicines and other supplements, including doses. A botanical origin does not establish that a combination is suitable for everyone.

Do not stop prescribed medicines or change their doses yourself. Food supplements do not replace treatment. Seek professional advice during pregnancy or breastfeeding too. If you experience adverse effects, stop taking the supplement and consult a healthcare professional.

What do L Cell’s laboratory reports and certificates show?

Content testing and contaminant testing answer different questions. One measures the amount of a substance; the other checks for unwanted substances such as heavy metals or mycotoxins, compounds produced by certain moulds. The report identifies the sample, date and scope of testing.

GMP and ISO 22000:2018 certificates relate to specified procedures and management systems. They do not replace composition testing or clinical assessment of the finished product. When reading the documents, check what was tested and which material the result applies to.

Where L Cell supplements are made

Product development and manufacturing in Vilnius are part of L Cell’s own operation. The brand publishes its laboratory address and information about product testing; each supplement still needs to be considered individually.

The range includes GlyNAC with glycine and NAC, botanical extracts such as apigenin and resveratrol, and magnesium supplements. These are different ingredients, with distinct compositions and directions.

Research into an ingredient does not establish the effects of every supplement containing it. Our descriptions distinguish ingredient information from health claims applicable to a particular nutrient and dose.

Pravé Bio and L Cell

Pravé Bio, NUZBOZ s.r.o., is L Cell’s exclusive distributor for the Czech Republic. Our shop carries individual L Cell product ranges and their available formats.

We check ingredient identity, quantities and the full ingredient list. For botanical extracts, we distinguish the weight of the extract from the amount of the specified compound within it.

Powders and capsules from the same range may differ. For example, GlyNAC powder and the capsule version have different glycine-to-NAC ratios; the individual product tables show those differences.

Match your question to the exact product. When comparing options, use the product name, format and pack size. For a laboratory report, also check the sample or batch identification.

Laboratory testing and certificates

Ingredient testing and contaminant testing answer different questions. One measures the amount of an analysed ingredient; the other checks for unwanted substances such as heavy metals. The brand’s documentation includes GMP and ISO 22000:2018 certificates issued to Longevita Lab and H Drop B.V. Their stated scope covers the development and sale of food supplements and food snacks.

A management-system certificate does not replace a product analysis. A laboratory result applies to the identified sample, measured substances and method. It does not establish rejuvenation or another health outcome.
