One study reported in Advances in Therapy(2), found that fresh sage reduced the intensity and number of hot flushes in menopausal women. The research was conducted with 71 menopausal women in Switzerland. They took capsules of fresh sage once a day for eight weeks.
Older clinical study(3) found that daily use of sage with alfalfa reduced hot flashes and night sweats. The study was conducted in 30 menopausal women in Italy.
