Unsulphured Light Raisins (Sultana variety) hand-picked • sourced directly from a Greek grower • sun-dried • no added sugar • 500 g
Looking for light-coloured unsulphured raisins that are juicy with a gentler fruity flavour? These sun-dried raisins have a soft texture, a clean aroma and a natural sweetness that does not overpower other ingredients. Compared to dark unsulphured raisins, bakers use them in light doughs, sweet breads and finer baked goods, where the raisins are meant to add only a subtle sweetness. They are also well suited to salads and rice dishes. Sourced from Greek growers Vaggelis Skapentzis and Georgios Bisiotis.
Why we chose Výdejna chutí for PraveBio.cz
Výdejna chutí is our partner project that imports fresh tropical fruit from Greece and uses the Pravé Bio store in Otrokovice as a pick-up point for the Zlín region. In addition to fruit, it also offers durable farm ingredients, which we decided to sell directly on the e-shop. Everything is without unnecessary additives, with traceable origins from farmers – for customers who want quality ingredients directly from the source.
Unsulphured sultana raisins – juicy, soft and naturally brown
Sultana raisins come from a small family farm that works in line with the principles of careful, sustainable agriculture, with the origin of each batch fully traceable. The grapes are grown by experienced Greek farmers Vaggelis Skapentzis and Georgios Bisiotis, who specialise in high-quality unsulphured raisins.
Processing takes place directly at the growers: the grapes are hand-picked, carefully sorted and then gently dried without the use of sulphur dioxide. Thanks to this, the raisins retain their natural brown colour, juiciness and aroma. The same team then cleans and packs them in small batches, which supports local farmers and guarantees a transparent and traceable origin of the raw material from vineyard to packet.
The flavour is dominated by notes of delicate, pure sweetness that gradually develops on the palate, with a subtle caramel and honey finish. The raisins are naturally gluten free, with no added sugar, oil or preservatives, making them ideal for anyone looking for a simple, naturally sweet snack that also provides fibre and valuable minerals.
Besides snacking straight from the pack, unsulphured sultanas are perfect in porridge and oatmeal, homemade granola, yoghurts and smoothie bowls, as well as baking – festive breads, braided loaves, bundt cakes, cookies or strudels gain a fuller flavour with them. They also work wonderfully in salads, couscous or bulgur, combined with cheese and nuts, where they add natural sweetness and a juicy contrast.

Recipe: savoury lentil and vegetable mix with sultanas
Ingredients (approx. 2 servings)
- 150 g cooked lentils
- 80 g unsulphured sultana raisins
- 1–2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
- 1 small red onion or shallot, finely chopped
- a handful of roasted vegetables (pumpkin, carrot or sweet potato)
- a pinch of Real Salt®
- optional: a handful of nuts or seeds for crunch
- optional: a splash of apple cider vinegar or lemon juice

Method
- Cook the lentils until tender, drain and leave to cool.
- In a bowl, combine the lentils, finely chopped onion and pieces of roasted vegetables.
- Add the unsulphured sultanas, which bring gentle sweetness and juiciness.
- Stir in the olive oil, season with a pinch of Real Salt® and, if you like, some vinegar or lemon juice.
- If you enjoy a crunchy texture, add a handful of nuts or seeds.
- Mix everything well and serve lukewarm or cold as a light main dish or a hearty salad.
Tip: The sweet-savoury contrast of lentils and sultanas also works beautifully in a wrap, with bulgur or as a side to grilled vegetables.
Why farm-grown sultanas are a better choice than a standard “supermarket” alternative
Standard packaged raisins are designed for low price, long shelf life and large-scale processing. They often come from mixing crops from different countries, undergo chemical sulphuring and may contain added oil or preservatives that mask their natural flavour.
Instead of the pure taste of grapes, the mainstream offer often includes raisins with an artificially lightened colour, treated with sulphur dioxide and adjusted to look uniform and “perfect on the eye”, which changes their aroma and texture.
Unsulphured sultanas from Vaggelis Skapentzis and Georgios Bisiotis take the opposite route: they come from single small family vineyards, where the grapes are hand-picked, gently dried and packed on site. They follow a single origin approach and a clean ingredient list: only 100% dried sultana grapes.
No sulphites, no oil and no sugar. This makes the origin fully traceable and the flavour truly reflects the place where the grapes were grown.
The difference on your palate: natural juiciness, a gently caramel-like sweetness and a rich fruity aroma typical of carefully dried sultanas.
Instead of a standardised taste, you get a distinct terroir and transparent origin.
What is the Výdejna chutí project
Výdejna chutí is a project that brings seasonal fruit directly from growers in Greece, Sicily and other Mediterranean regions to the Czech Republic. It is based on a short supply chain, fair prices for farmers and on the fact that the fruit reaches customers one week after harvest – without intermediate storage and unnecessary travelling.
Because we have long supported transparent ingredient sourcing and honest production methods, our partnership with Výdejna chutí makes deep sense. Although we do not sell fresh fruit directly, we offer their long-life products – Sicilian hazelnuts, unsulphured raisins and natural molasses. Just like the fresh fruit, these are clean, honest and fully traceable ingredients down to the specific orchard.
Partnership with Pravé Bio
PraveBio.cz is one of the official pick-up points of the Výdejna chutí project. Orders of fresh fruit are placed directly via the website Vydejnachuti.cz. Once a month, our store in Otrokovice serves as the place where customers can have their fruit orders delivered; we inform about order deadlines and pick-up dates via our newsletter.
This model allows customers to enjoy the benefits of fresh seasonal fruit directly from farmers without paying for expensive individual shipping. The long-life products that complement the project’s philosophy – nuts, dried fruit and natural sweeteners – are available directly in our online shop.
Just as at PraveBio.cz, the key focus here is to support small producers, bring people quality food and offer only what makes sense in terms of origin, quality and sustainability. Výdejna chutí is not a supermarket alternative – it is a direct link to farmers who care about their soil and what people eat.

Ingredients
100 % dried grapes
Warning / Storage
- Store in a cool place (ideally 16–18 °C), dry and dark, away from direct sunlight and sources of heat.
- Protect from strong odours – high-quality unsulphured sultanas are naturally aroma-absorbing. Always store them in a well-sealed container.
- Avoid sudden temperature changes; these can affect their natural moisture and softness.
- We do not recommend storing raisins in the fridge; they may absorb moisture and lose some of their natural sweet flavour and texture.
FAQ
Where exactly do these unsulphured sultana raisins come from?
Our sultanas come from small family vineyards run by Vaggelis Skapentzis and Georgios Bisiotis. This is a single origin production – all the grapes come from one specific place, ensuring traceable origin, authenticity and a unique flavour.

Are the sultanas sweetened or treated with sulphites?
No. These raisins are 100% unsulphured, with no added sugar, no oil and no preservatives. Their natural sweetness comes only from ripe grapes and gentle drying. This allows them to retain their natural brown colour, juiciness and a subtly caramel-like flavour.

How can I best use these raisins in the kitchen?
Unsulphured sultanas are excellent for snacking, in porridge, granola, baking (festive breads, sweet braided loaves, bundt cakes, cookies) and also in savoury dishes – in salads, couscous, bulgur or with roasted vegetables. Their gentle sweetness pairs beautifully with nuts, yoghurt, chocolate or cheese.

Do these sultanas contain any allergens?
Raisins themselves are not among common allergens. However, they may contain traces of nuts or other products, depending on packing conditions. If you have allergies, we recommend checking the current label on the packaging.

Are these raisins suitable for vegans?
Yes. They are 100% natural dried grapes with no animal-derived ingredients, no oils, preservatives or additives. They are suitable for vegans, vegetarians and a generally varied diet.

How should I store the raisins?
Ideally in a dry, dark place at 16–18 °C, away from direct heat and sunlight. Raisins easily absorb surrounding odours, so always store them well sealed. Avoid humidity and sudden temperature changes – these may affect their softness and natural moisture. We do not recommend storing them in the fridge, as they may darken and change due to moisture.

Výdejna chutí connects food lovers with the work of small farmers and brings exceptional ingredients in their pure single-ingredient form – with no added sugar, oil or chemicals. Among these speciality foods are Sicilian hazelnuts and Greek sultana raisins (light and dark), celebrated for their authentic flavour, honest origin and outstanding nutritional value. Everything comes directly from the farmers, is naturally processed and fully compliant with the highest European quality standards.
This selection features roasted hazelnuts from the foothills of Mount Etna and sun-dried raisins from Greek vineyards. Both the nuts and raisins are hand-picked on family farms and gently processed right where they are grown. Thanks to this, they retain their natural aroma, flavour and nutrients. Each batch is carefully selected for freshness and purity – for example, the raisins are completely unsulphured and the hazelnuts are lightly roasted without oil or salt.
The photo is illustrative only and shows one of the possible ways to use hazelnuts and raisins.
Why you’ll love these farm-fresh specialities:
- Unique origin & cultivation – Sicilian hazelnuts grow on the slopes of Etna, while Greek raisins come from sunny vineyards and are traditionally dried in the sun.
- Pure ingredients – The nuts consist only of roasted kernels; the raisins are sun-dried sultanas with no sulphites, preservatives, added sugar or oil.
- Nutritional value – Hazelnuts are rich in monounsaturated fats, quality proteins, fibre and vitamin E. Raisins provide energy, potassium and iron.
- Flavour & aroma – Sicilian hazelnuts are delicate and buttery; raisins are juicy, sweet and aromatic with honey or caramel notes.
- Honest processing – Farm-fresh produce with transparent origin, traditional drying and processing aligned with EU food legislation.

Farmers’ story: from Etna and Greek vineyards
Sicilian hazelnuts come from farmer Concetto Di Francesco, who cultivates the volcanic foothills near Castiglione di Sicilia. The hazelnuts are hand-picked, shelled and roasted directly on the farm. The local variety “nocciola dell’Etna” is prized for its distinctive aroma shaped by volcanic soil.
Sultana raisins are grown by Greek farmers Vaggelis Skapentzis and Georgios Bisiotis. After harvesting, the grapes are dried naturally in the sun without sulphites or artificial drying, which gives the raisins their soft texture, fragrant aroma and rich natural flavour.
Benefits of hazelnuts
Hazelnuts are among the most nutrient-dense nuts. They contain high-quality proteins, beneficial unsaturated fats, vitamin E, magnesium, potassium, B-vitamins, polyphenols and fibre.
Nutritional benefits of raisins
Raisins are a concentrated source of energy, natural sugars, potassium, iron, fibre and antioxidants. Thanks to their natural sweetness, they can replace part of the sugar in recipes.
Why choose food directly from small farmers
The key difference is a transparent origin, hand harvesting and processing without anonymous wholesale storage. Both hazelnuts and raisins are produced with a focus on quality and freshness.
The latest-harvest nuts are gently roasted, and the raisins are dried naturally in the sun without sulphites. Their natural colour and aroma confirm the traditional production method.
Hazelnuts and dried grapes are naturally nutrient-dense – with no need for added flavourings or chemical treatments.
By choosing these products, you support sustainable agriculture and fair conditions for small farmers.
