Siberian Ginseng (Eleutherococcus Senticosus) – Glycerin Herbal Extract BIO • Alcohol-Free • Energy • Endurance • Stress Resistance • 1:1 Extract • 50 ml

Siberian Ginseng (also known as Eleutherococcus) is an East Asian shrub. In phytotherapy, its root is traditionally used in the form of a decoction. In concentrated form, the herbal extract is used – particularly during periods of higher physical or mental stress to support energy, vitality, and the body's resilience. Siberian Ginseng naturally contains compounds such as eleutherosides and polysaccharides.

Botanicals For Life offers organic Siberian Ginseng as an alcohol-free 1:1 extract in drop form. 1 ml (approximately 20 drops) corresponds to 1 g of dried raw material. The base consists of plant glycerin from coconut and purified water, making the taste milder and sweeter than alcohol tinctures. The bottle provides approximately 50 doses.

Why we included Botanicals For Life in the PraveBio.cz range

Botanicals For Life is a British brand of liquid herbal extracts, led by naturopaths. It works with herbs from certified organic and agroecological farms in Europe and India; for selected species, it also uses sustainable harvesting according to FairWild (an international certification and standard for sustainable harvesting of wild plants).

The extracts are produced through the following technological process: the dried herb is extracted, the alcohol is then removed by rotary evaporation, the extract is freeze-dried and re-dissolved in organic coconut glycerin and purified water. Compared to traditional alcohol tinctures, these extracts have a milder taste and, due to the absence of alcohol, are more acceptable to many people, including kids. They are therefore suitable for long-term use, while maintaining the strength of 1:1.

The brand emphasizes full transparency: the origin of the herbs, the extraction method, and the context of use are stated directly on the packaging, including a QR code with extended information. We are the exclusive importer and distributor of the brand for the whole of Europe.

Siberian Ginseng (Eleuthero) Herbal Extract

The base of the liquid Siberian ginseng extract is plant glycerin from organic coconut and purified water. The coconut glycerin is suitable for long-term use and its naturally sweet taste pleasantly softens the extract. The taste remains distinctly herbal (without added aromas), yet it is milder than a classic alcohol tincture.

In traditional phytotherapy, Siberian ginseng is classified among plant materials associated with increased physical or mental stress, particularly in supporting energy, vitality, and resilience of the body. The glycerin form is suitable for those who cannot use alcohol-based products (such as kids and individuals sensitive to alcohol), or for those who dislike the strong alcoholic taste of tinctures.

Siberian ginseng is well-known among naturopaths, but the European Union does not allow any health claims for it, so further information should be sought independently.

The extract ratio is 1:1: during production, 1 g of dried root was used for 1 ml of liquid. This is a production ratio – an indication of how much raw material and liquid was used during extraction. Botanicals For Life extracts contain compounds present in the whole plant, not just an isolated component.

The recommended daily dose is 20 drops (approximately 1 ml of extract). You can take the drops directly or mix them in a small amount of water. During pregnancy, breastfeeding, and for kids, always consult with a doctor or qualified professional.

The package lasts approximately 50 doses. In the Botanicals For Life portfolio, this extract is part of the ENERGY & VITALITY range, which includes products traditionally associated with supporting vitality.

Did you know?

  • Eleuthero / Eleutherococcus: Siberian ginseng is also known by these names. The plant originates from northeastern Asia, and its root has been primarily used in traditional applications for centuries.
  • Not true ginseng: Although commonly referred to as Siberian ginseng, botanically it is not true ginseng of the Panax genus. Traditionally associated with vitality, resilience of the body, and periods of increased stress.
  • Extract 1:1 – difference from decoction: Botanicals For Life offers Siberian ginseng as a non-alcoholic 1:1 extract. Traditionally, the root is used in the form of a decoction, while the concentrated extract offers a different form of use. The base of the extract is plant glycerin from coconut and purified water.

Main Benefits of Siberian Ginseng (Eleuthero) Extract

  • Alcohol-free glycerin form – coconut glycerin and purified water; the taste remains herbal, without aromas, but is milder than alcohol tinctures. Additionally, coconut glycerin gives it a slightly sweet tone.
  • Dosage20 drops corresponds to approximately 1 ml; easy to dose at home or on the go. Can be mixed in a small amount of water or added to a beverage.
  • Ratio 1:11 ml corresponds to 1 g of dried root (production ratio). This means a smaller volume of drops per dose; the taste is usually more pronounced than 1:3 or 1:5 extracts and it is clear how much raw material is actually used.
  • Extract vs. decoction – Traditionally, the root of Siberian ginseng is also used in the form of a decoction; however, the extract offers a different, concentrated form of use.
  • Simple composition – only Siberian ginseng, without blends of other herbs, without additives, preservatives, and sweeteners.
  • Organic quality raw material – the extract is made from certified organic raw materials and is intended for those interested in a simple herbal formula.
  • Packaging for approximately 50 doses – one bottle lasts approximately 50 days at a dose of 20 drops.

How to choose a product from the Energy & Vitality Botanicals For Life collection

For herbs focused on energy and vitality, two groups can be distinguished: extracts suitable for long-term, regular use and extracts intended more for short courses during periods of increased physical or mental stress. For more intensive courses, it is advisable to include breaks and follow the manufacturer's recommended dosage.

For long-term use, ashwagandha extract or astragalus extract is often chosen. Both are among adaptogenic herbs traditionally associated with stress resilience, vitality, and life energy. They are usually taken continuously, in lower doses, and over a longer period.

For short courses and periods of increased fatigue or higher performance demands, herbs traditionally associated with mental freshness and energy metabolism are chosen:

  • Camellia sinensis (green tea)– extract containing caffeine and polyphenols, including EGCG. Traditionally used to support alertness, focus, and energy metabolism. For those sensitive to caffeine, it is recommended not to use it in the evening.
  • Ashwagandha (Withania somnifera) – an Ayurvedic adaptogen, traditionally used during periods of exhaustion and long-term stress. Often included in extended courses aimed at enhancing resilience to stress.
  • Bacopa (Bacopa monnieri) – a nootropic herb traditionally associated with memory, learning, and concentration. Practically used during periods of intense study or mentally demanding work.
  • Astragalus (Astragalus membranaceus) – in traditional Chinese medicine, classified among Qi tonics, or life energy. Suitable where the aim is long-term support of vitality and endurance; can complement courses focused on energy and resilience.
  • Fenugreek (Trigonella foenum-graecum) – traditionally used in connection with sugar and fat metabolism and female comfort. For tired individuals, it is included where energy is closely linked to appetite fluctuations, cycles, or breastfeeding; consultation with a specialist is always necessary for sensitive groups.

The choice of extract should be based on the current situation, caffeine sensitivity, medications used, and overall health status. In the case of chronic issues, pregnancy, breastfeeding, or medication use, it is advisable to consult their use with a doctor or qualified therapist.

Why Choose Botanicals For Life

Botanicals For Life is a British brand led by naturopaths from the Mushrooms For Life team. Distribution is handled by Living Planet Distribution (LPD), a company founded in 2016 by Graham Botfield and Ben Shouler. LPD also includes the brands Planet Paleo, Living Nutrition, and CardioSmile

For herbal extracts, not only the type of plant matters but also the method of cultivation and harvesting. Botanicals For Life works with herbs from organic farming (certified by Soil Association Organic), agroecological cultivation, and wild crafting. If a specific raw material is subject to the FairWild standard, it is indicated on the label.

Extract production: the extract is prepared from the dried plant, followed by evaporation, freeze-drying, and conversion into liquid form. The finished extract is alcohol-free. The base consists of plant glycerin from organic coconut and purified water. The liquid form allows precise drop-by-drop dosing.

The label provides information on the origin of the raw materials, processing method, and recommended use. The packaging also includes QR codes with more detailed information, including contraindications.

Why we recommend this brand: Each extract clearly states key information: origin of the raw material, cultivation and production method, and any certifications.

The choice is thus based on documented data, not just the name of the herb. In the field of herbal supplements, this level of transparent information is crucial.

FAQ

Why does Botanicals For Life use alcohol during extraction?

In herbal extraction, alcohol is the most effective way to release key active compounds such as eleutherosides, which are found in Siberian ginseng root. These compounds are difficult to obtain using only water or glycerine.

During production, an alcohol extract is made first so the widest possible range of adaptogenic compounds can be obtained from the root. The alcohol is then fully removed from the extract, and the pure extract is bound to an alcohol-free carrier. Alcohol is therefore only a processing tool, not an ingredient intended for consumption.

Trojúhelník

What is the difference between an extract, powder and Siberian ginseng capsules?

Standard capsules or tablets often contain only finely ground dried root, which the body must first process in order to obtain the active compounds. With teas, it is also difficult to estimate the final strength of the infusion.

This product is a liquid extract in a 1 : 1 ratio. That means 1 ml of extract corresponds to 1 g of dried Siberian ginseng root. Thanks to the multi-step extraction process, the eleutherosides have already been released and are ready for uptake, without placing unnecessary strain on digestion.

Trojúhelník

What happens to the alcohol after the ginseng has been extracted?

Once all the valuable compounds have been obtained from the ginseng root, the alcohol is evaporated using a modern low-pressure method (vacuum evaporation). This allows the alcohol to be removed at very low temperatures that do not damage the plant’s sensitive active compounds.

The result is a highly concentrated extract that is also appropriate for those who avoid alcohol, and it is stabilised in organic coconut glycerine and purified water.

Trojúhelník

What does the triple (multi-step) extraction used by Botanicals for Life mean?

Siberian ginseng contains a complex blend of substances – some are water-soluble, others alcohol-soluble. Botanicals for Life uses a multi-step process so that the bottle retains as broad a spectrum of the plant’s naturally occurring substances as possible.

The root goes through several stages of maceration in different media. This means the final extract is not just an isolated component, but contains all the synergistic substances that are typical of Siberian ginseng.

Trojúhelník

Why is coconut glycerine used in the finished extract – and why does it matter?

Glycerine acts as the carrier in the extract. It keeps the extract in liquid form, allows it to be dosed in drops, and contributes to the product’s stability without the presence of alcohol.

All Botanicals for Life products use plant glycerine from organic coconut, rather than a generally labelled plant glycerine from various commodity oils such as soya or rapeseed. For the customer, this is important information about the origin of the carrier – it is clear which quality raw material the medium comes from, and this is the medium in which the extract is taken over the long term.

Trojúhelník

Is an alcohol-free extract weaker than a classic tincture?

An alcohol-free form does not in itself mean that the extract is weaker. The final concentration depends mainly on the extraction method and the ratio in which the raw material is transferred into liquid form. During production, alcohol can be an effective way to release certain compounds, but its presence in the final carrier does not determine the strength of the extract.

The main difference between a classic tincture and this product is the form. A spirit tincture keeps the alcohol as the carrier, while here it is removed once extraction is complete and the extract is transferred into coconut glycerine and water. A 1 : 1 ratio means that 1 ml of the finished extract corresponds to approximately 1 g of dried bark. Strength can therefore be judged by the clearly defined concentration, not by whether the carrier is alcohol-based.

Trojúhelník

How is the concentration of lapacho extract defined (1 : 1)?

With herbal extracts, it is better to look at the concentration than whether the carrier is alcohol-based or alcohol-free. This is exactly what the 1 : 1 figure is for – a technical indication of the ratio between the raw material and the finished extract.

A 1 : 1 ratio means that 1 ml of the finished liquid extract corresponds to approximately 1 g of dried plant material. If the recommended daily dose is 20 drops (roughly 1 ml), you get approximately the equivalent of 1 g of dried bark per day.

On the market, you will often come across extracts that do not state the ratio at all, or use other ratios such as 1 : 2 or 1 : 5. In that case, it generally applies that the higher the second number, the more diluted the finished extract is. With a 1 : 5 ratio, 1 ml of extract corresponds to approximately 0.2 g of dry matter. That is also why the 1 : 1 figure is key.

By comparison, with a lapacho decoction, the concentration depends on many factors, so few people can estimate it. With capsules, you usually know the weight of the ground bark, but it is not an extract – the active compounds have not been transferred in advance into a concentrated liquid form. With a 1 : 1 extract, the concentration is defined and dosing is done in drops.

Trojúhelník

How does Botanicals For Life ensure purity and quality control?

The brand states that finished batches of extracts are laboratory tested for common contaminants. In particular, they check heavy metals, microbiological parameters (yeasts and moulds), mycotoxins and pesticide residues.

Heavy metals are linked to the environment and the soil in which the plant grows. Yeasts and moulds present a contamination risk, especially if the herbs were dried or stored incorrectly. Mycotoxins are substances that some moulds can produce. Pesticides are mainly an issue with herbs that are not grown in organic agriculture.

For the customer, the key point is that this does not assess only the origin of the raw material, but also the condition in which the finished extract is sold in the bottle. The quality of herbal food supplements consists of several steps: where the raw material comes from, how it was processed, and whether the final product meets purity requirements.
