Which is better, liquid or powdered MCT oil?
At Hunter & Gather we offer both options, pure organic certified MCT oil (either C8 or C8 C10) and certified organic C8 & C10 MCT powder.
Liquid MCT is 100% MCT with no added fibers, while MCT powder requires the addition of a fiber on which the oil is spray dried. However, MCT powder is much easier to use, easily blended into coffee, teas, smoothies and shakes without the oily consistency.
Why use acacia fiber?
To make the powdered form of MCT oil, you need to take liquid MCT oil and dry it by spraying it on a carrier. There are a number of MCT powders on the market that are spray-dried into corn-derived maltodextrin. We do not use corn-derived maltodextrin in any of our products, so acacia fiber works as the perfect carrier for spray drying MCT oil. Acacia fiber is grain-free, low-carb, keto and paleo friendly, as well as gluten-free, and comes from acacia. Acacia fiber is also a prebiotic and can support your gut health.
Can you travel with MCT powder?
Yes, you can, provided the container is clearly marked with a tag so that if an inspection was carried out you wouldn't have to worry about the powder being confused with something else! In fact, this is a definite advantage of powder over oil, which is much harder to travel with.

These hardships later turned out to be a blessing in disguise, as they taught Amy to fully appreciate the impact food has on her optimal health and how to cook real meals from basic ingredients.
