Liposomal Resveratrol – 30 / 60 Capsules 250 mg trans-resveratrol • micronised extract • MCT + sunflower lecithin • selected-batch lab reports • made in the Netherlands
250 mg of trans-resveratrol from Japanese knotweed, in one capsule. Purovitalis micronises the raw material, then combines it with sunflower lecithin and MCT in a formula described as liposomal. Micronisation changes particle size; the lipid carrier is intended to protect the ingredient during digestion.
- Japanese knotweed source: trans-resveratrol rather than grape extract
- Dutch manufacture: CureSupport's FSSC 22000-certified facility
- Selected batch reports: testing includes heavy metals and pesticide residues
- 30 or 60 capsules: packed in Miron violet glass
Inside the trans-resveratrol formula
Resveratrol is a plant polyphenol. This supplement uses the trans form from Japanese knotweed (Polygonum cuspidatum), rather than grape extract. Each capsule provides 250 mg trans-resveratrol. The word trans identifies the molecule's spatial arrangement, not a different category of nutrient.
Alongside the active ingredient, Purovitalis uses sunflower lecithin and MCT. They form part of the lipid-based formula, and help explain the brand's approach to delivering this particular ingredient.
Resveratrol often features in discussions about longevity. In our Purovitalis guide to biohacking and healthy ageing, we look at the wider context: nutrition, everyday habits and the place of supplements, without promising results the research has yet to establish.
Micronised and liposomal: two different processes
Micronisation reduces the size of raw-material particles. Liposomal delivery uses lipid structures formed from phospholipids. In this formulation, sunflower lecithin is the phospholipid source. Purovitalis uses the technology with the aim of protecting resveratrol during digestion and supporting its availability for absorption.
The distinction between a technology's intended purpose and demonstrated performance matters. Studies of other liposomal ingredients cannot establish how much more resveratrol is absorbed from these finished capsules; that would require relevant testing of this product.
Made in the Netherlands. Analysed independently.
Purovitalis is associated with Dutch company Borealis Pharma B.V. According to the brand, capsules are produced at CureSupport Nederland B.V., an FSSC 22000-certified facility audited by Kiwa. Independent analysis is carried out by Arotop / Limbach Analytics in Mainz, Germany.
CureSupport developed its patented Aktin technology for dry liposomal formulations. AKTIN TECHNOLOGY is also a trademark of CureSupport Holding B.V.
According to Purovitalis, resveratrol batches undergo independent laboratory checks. Published reports include tests for heavy metals and pesticide residues, with results identified by the batch tested.
Trans-resveratrol per daily capsule
| Ingredient | Per capsule |
|---|---|
| Trans-resveratrol | 250 mg (NRV not established) |
Ingredients
Resveratrol (Japanese knotweed extract), capsule shell: hydroxypropyl methylcellulose (HPMC), medium-chain triglycerides (MCT), sunflower lecithin, gum arabic, magnesium stearate and silicon dioxide.
How to take resveratrol
Take one capsule with breakfast and a glass of water. Choose the 30- or 60-capsule bottle for a 30- or 60-day supply. Miron violet glass helps shield the contents from light, serving a purpose beyond its distinctive appearance. Store in a cool, dry, dark place away from direct sunlight and heat.
Purovitalis or L Cell? Compare what is actually inside.
Each Purovitalis capsule supplies 250 mg trans-resveratrol, alongside the ingredients used in its lipid-based formulation. L Cell Resveratrol Capsules list 600 mg Japanese knotweed extract standardised to 98% trans-resveratrol per recommended daily dose, with 1.5 mg zinc, 0.165 mg B1 and 0.75 µg D3. That 600 mg is an extract weight; it should not simply be labelled as 600 mg of pure resveratrol.
Prefer a powder? L Cell Resveratrol Powder provides 800 mg of similarly declared 98% extract per daily dose, plus the same listed micronutrients. The differences lie in extract quantity, additional ingredients and how each product is taken. They do not, on their own, establish superior clinical results.
Looking at Purovitalis Spermidine as well? Spermidine is a polyamine; resveratrol is a polyphenol. The spermidine capsule provides 5 mg of its own active ingredient plus six nutrients. It is not another form of resveratrol.
Resveratrol: your questions answered
What does trans-resveratrol mean?
Resveratrol exists in different spatial forms, including trans and cis. This supplement uses trans-resveratrol from Japanese knotweed. Resveratrol also occurs naturally in grape skins, some berries and peanuts.
What does research say about resveratrol benefits?
Resveratrol is being investigated in relation to cellular processes and metabolism. Much of the mechanistic work comes from laboratory and animal studies, which cannot automatically be taken as evidence of a benefit from a finished supplement in humans. This formula has not been shown to slow ageing or treat disease.
Why does resveratrol absorption attract so much attention?
After ingestion, resveratrol is rapidly metabolised, including in the gut and liver. This can leave relatively little unchanged resveratrol in circulation. Purovitalis uses micronised resveratrol with sunflower lecithin and MCT in a lipid-based formula designed to support its availability during digestion. The technology's intended purpose is not a measurement of absorption from these finished capsules.
Why is resveratrol often mentioned alongside NMN?
NMN (nicotinamide mononucleotide) is a precursor the body uses to make NAD+, a coenzyme involved in cellular energy metabolism. Resveratrol is a plant polyphenol being studied in relation to SIRT1 and other cellular processes. Both feature in longevity research, but they are different ingredients. Resveratrol can also be taken on its own.
Is 250 mg a standard daily dose?
It is this product's stated daily dose, not a universally established recommended intake. Consult a healthcare professional if taking medicines, particularly those affecting blood clotting. Use is not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
Is Purovitalis Resveratrol vegan?
Yes. Purovitalis lists this formula as vegan. It uses an HPMC capsule shell rather than gelatine, with no animal-derived ingredients declared.
Before taking resveratrol
Food supplement. Do not exceed the recommended daily dose. Food supplements are not a substitute for a varied, balanced diet. Keep out of reach of children. Not intended for children. Not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Consult a healthcare professional if taking medication.
