Organic dried coconut milk from Ceylon Kokonati is made from freshly grated pulp of ripe coconuts. Finely grated coconut is then blended with filtered hot water and strained. It is then mixed with organic dextrose from rice flour and dried into a powder.

It has a delicious coconut taste and aroma. Depending on the harvest and season, each batch may vary in color and to a lesser extent in taste, as it is a natural product without any synthetic substances, refining, additives, or preservatives.

Coconuts are high in fiber, so if you are just starting to consume this non-dairy alternative, it is better to gradually increase its intake so that the intestines slowly get used to it and adapt.

Usage

You can use coconut milk as a practical and compact non-dairy alternative. It is great not only for lactose intolerant or vegans, but also for anyone who wants to lighten their diet or experiment in the kitchen.

Dried coconut milk stores excellently and is great for travel, trips, or hikes, as it is very light compared to canned coconut milk. It is also suitable if you use coconut milk only in small amounts, for example in coffee, and would not consume a whole can.

  • You can add dried coconut milk to smoothies, “bulletproof” coffee, hot chocolate or black tea.
  • It adds an exotic flavor to sauces, curries, or soups.
  • It is great for morning porridges or for pouring over cereals.

Preparation Tip

  • Simply mix the dried milk in warm or hot water to the desired consistency and use it like regular milk for cooking, baking etc. 
  • The mixing ratio is 1 to 6 tablespoons (15 g) of dried coconut milk for every 6 tablespoons (72 ml) of warm water.
  • You can easily adjust the ratio by adding more water to suit the desired density and mix diluted light coconut milk, or add less water for thicker coconut milk or coconut cream.

What is single origin or "single source"?

This claim means that the raw material comes from one geographical area (as opposed to raw materials sourced from multiple countries and then mixed together = common practice of cheap products from so-called private labels).

The fact that Ceylon Kokonati's raw materials/products are "single origin" only from Sri Lanka means that the consumer's taste buds have a more consistent experience from batch to batch.     The Ceilon Kokonati brand was established in 2013. In its range you can find a variety of high quality and affordable products made from sustainably produced coconuts, spices and tropical fruits.

    The brand's name refers to the country that its founders consider home, Ceylon, Sri Lanka, where the coconuts for the coconut line of products are grown and processed. Ceylon, a British Crown Colony from 1815-1948, is now known as Sri Lanka, but the founders of the brand prefer to call it Ceylon because it definitely sounds more exotic and "pure Ceylon" is a brand in itself, reminiscent of the fresh unique essence of pure Ceylon tea. "Kokonati" on the other hand is Maori for coconut, so absolutely the most appropriate brand name for the most coconutty goodness ever.

    The Ceilon Kokonati brand is run by a married couple. The female founding half is Mrs. Bûmika, which means Lady of the Earth in Sanskrit. Her great-grandfather was one of the pioneers of coconut oil pressing in Ceylon, making her the fourth generation of coconut oil presser. The male founding half, Mr. Mosqi, in turn, is originally a pure Ceylon tea grower.
