Instead, they use special propolis traps with small openings, made from food-grade plastic.

 

These traps are placed under the inner cover of the hive. The bees fill them with propolis during their normal work of sealing the hive. Once the traps are full, we gently remove them, without disturbing the bees or causing them any harm.

 

This collection method is gentle on bees while allowing high-quality propolis to be obtained, with its characteristic composition, clear origin and typical colour.
