High Protein Choco Balls – Turtle

Chocolate Protein Balls by Turtle are breakfast cereals with a delicate chocolate flavour. Easily prepared in a bowl with milk, plant-based drink, or yoghurt and fruit, they are perfect for a quick breakfast or snack.

These are organic cereals with a plant-based composition. The base consists of corn, pea protein, and cocoa powder, which provides a natural chocolate flavour. The recipe also includes cane sugar and the product is gluten-free and vegan.

Per 100 g, they contain 21 g of protein, more than typical sweet breakfast cereals, which are often primarily carbohydrate-based. The higher protein content is beneficial on days when you want to better balance your diet, whether during periods of growth or on days with frequent training and exercise.

Balls can be used not only for breakfast but also as a topping for desserts or in yoghurt. They also work well in homemade mixes with nuts and seeds or as a simple snack on the go.

Did You Know?

  • A portion of cereal can provide a similar amount of protein as a small yoghurt – about 50 g of balls (approximately one bowl) contains around 10 g of protein; with milk or yoghurt, it makes a more complete protein breakfast.
  • Combining balls with milk or yoghurt increases the total protein content of the breakfast – the plant-based pea protein from the balls complements dairy proteins, so you get more protein in one bowl than from regular sweet cereals.
  • Kids have a relatively higher protein requirement than adults – hence, it makes sense for breakfast to include a source of protein along with carbohydrates.

Why Try Chocolate Protein Balls

  • Organic and Vegancertified organic cereals with a purely plant-based composition, free from animal ingredients; suitable for vegans and vegetarians.
  • Chocolate Crunchy Breakfast – delicate chocolate flavour thanks to cocoa powder, practical ball format for breakfast, as a snack, in breakfast bowls with fruit, yoghurt, and on desserts.
  • Pea Protein in the Recipe – contains pea protein (18 %), which increases the overall protein content compared to regular sweet cereals.
  • 21 g of Protein / 100 g for Kids and Active Adultshigh protein content for school-age kids and adults monitoring protein intake (including during periods of training and exercise).
  • Source of Fibre – the combination of grain base and plant protein naturally provides some fibre.
  • Free from Palm Oil and GMOs – relies on grain base, plant protein, and cocoa, without palm oil and genetically modified ingredients.

At pravebio.cz you will find a wide selection of Turtle brand cereals — from crunchy muesli to oat porridges — for quick and balanced breakfasts. And if you enjoy a classic American snack, like bread with peanut butter and jam, you can choose from our wide range of jams in organic quality.

The History of Breakfast Oats

  • Oats were used in ancient Europe for their high nutritional value and long shelf life.
  • In the 19th century, the industrial production of oats allowed for their mass distribution and quick preparation of breakfasts.
  • Various cultures developed their own recipes, cooking oatmeal in milk or water and enriching it with fruits and nuts.
  • With the rise of the modern health movement, oats became a symbol of a healthy lifestyle due to their high fibre and protein content.
  • Today, oats are used not only as traditional porridge but also as a base for granolas, muesli and innovative recipes.
  • The modern use of oats combines historical tradition with the need for quick, nutritious and balanced breakfasts.

Oats, cereals and granolas make a great breakfast because they provide long-lasting energy, are filling due to fibre and contain important nutrients such as vitamins, minerals and antioxidants. They are easily combined with fruits, nuts or yoghurt and are quick and easy to prepare.

Why Does Turtle Opt for Organic Farming?

All Turtle brand products come from organic farming, which is gentler on nature and human health. Unlike conventional production, it minimises the use of chemicals, supports the natural fertility of the soil and protects groundwater.

This allows bees to continue pollinating, the landscape remains diverse, and consumers can enjoy breakfast without unwanted toxins and pesticides.

Why Turtle Chooses Organic Farming

  • Preserves soil fertility for future generations, protects the purity of drinking water.
  • Reduces the amount of pesticides and toxic substances in food.
  • Supports biodiversity and contributes to the sustainability of the planet.
  • Contains no genetically modified (GM) ingredients.

From the very beginning, Turtle has held the organic certification BE-BIO-001, which confirms its commitment to sustainability and the highest quality.

Turtle BIO

How Did This Story Begin?

The founders were looking for breakfast cereals of organic quality, without added sugar – and couldn't find them. It was only pregnancy and the birth of a child that made us think even more deeply about what we actually eat and what we want to offer our family. At that time, both Thilo and Laurence were busy with work, but it was maternity leave that proved to be the right moment for the creation of Turtle – a brand offering better breakfast alternatives for those seeking clean ingredients and genuine taste.

The name Turtle was chosen after the well-known story of the tortoise and the hare. While the hare rushes forward and quickly tires, the tortoise moves slowly but steadily – and ultimately wins. Similarly, the energy from whole grain oats is released gradually, providing the body with stable strength throughout the day.

Today, they are grateful to share their love for breakfast with hundreds of thousands of you each month. They are constantly seeking new ways to bring you even better products and inspiration for breakfasts you will love. Because a good day starts with a great breakfast – and they want yours to always be exceptional.

Composition Analysis and Functional Benefits

Corn Flour

What it is: Finely milled corn flour of organic quality as the base of the grain component.

Function: Gives the balls shape, volume, and a crunchy texture that holds the cocoa and other components.

Benefits: Has a neutral taste, so it carries chocolate and vanilla aromas well without a distracting own tone.

Pea Protein (18%)

What it is: Concentrated plant protein derived from peas.

Function: Significantly increases the protein content in the cereals – 21 g of protein per 100 g.

Benefits: Helps make the portion of balls not just a source of carbohydrates, but also a measurable amount of plant proteins.

Cane Sugar

What it is: Crystalline cane sugar as the basic sweetener.

Function: Balances the natural bitterness of the cocoa powder and gives the cereals a gently sweet taste.

Benefits: Ensures chocolate sweetness without the need for additional sweetening when serving.

Cocoa Powder (9%)

What it is: Defatted cocoa powder from cocoa beans.

Function: Provides the balls with a typical chocolate taste and darker colour.

Benefits: Allows for the feeling of "choco cereals", but the recipe also includes plant protein.

Natural Vanilla Flavouring

What it is: Natural flavouring with a vanilla taste profile.

Function: Softens and rounds out the chocolate taste, so the mix doesn't feel one-sidedly cocoa.

Benefits: Helps the cereals taste balanced even when combined with milk, plant drinks, or yoghurt.

Natural Chocolate Flavouring

What it is: Natural flavouring with enhanced chocolate taste.

Function: Supports and deepens the taste of cocoa powder, so the chocolate flavour is pronounced even in a smaller portion.

Benefits: Maintains the chocolate character of the balls even after pouring milk or mixing with yoghurt and fruit.

Other Ingredients

  • Salt – a small amount of salt balances the sweetness of cane sugar and enhances the chocolate taste of the cereals.

Warnings

  • Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
  • After opening, always seal the package well to keep the cereals crunchy for as long as possible.
  • Consume by the best before date indicated on the package and check current information on ingredients and allergens.

FAQ

Can Turtle's High Protein Chocolate Balls be used as a substitute for a protein drink after a workout?

Turtle's High Protein Chocolate Balls provide around 10 g of protein per typical serving, so they can supplement protein after a light workout. They work best in combination with milk, yoghurt, or skyr; however, a specialised protein drink usually offers a higher single dose of protein.

Triangle

How do Turtle's High Protein Chocolate Balls differ from regular children's chocolate cereals?

Turtle's High Protein Chocolate Balls have significantly higher protein content due to the pea protein compared to most regular "children's" choco balls. Standard cereals primarily rely on carbohydrates and added sugar, while this product also offers a measurable portion of plant protein and a certain amount of fibre.

Triangle

Does it make sense to include Turtle's High Protein Chocolate Balls if I'm already using protein supplements?

Yes, Turtle's High Protein Chocolate Balls can complement regular protein supplements as a practical "normal meal" with a higher protein content. Part of the daily intake proteins from an ordinary breakfast or snack (cereal + dairy product), not just from powders and shakes.

Triangle

What is the difference when pouring Turtle's High Protein Chocolate Cereal with cow's milk compared to a plant-based drink?

With real cow's milk, Turtle's High Protein Chocolate Cereal gains additional dairy proteins and usually more calcium, resulting in a higher total protein content in the bowl. For plant-based drinks, it depends on the type – for example, a soy drink also has more protein, while a rice or oat drink mainly provides carbohydrates and a smaller amount of protein.

Triangle

How can Turtle's High Protein Chocolate Cereal be included in a kid's diet without it being just a sweet bowl?

For kids, it's appropriate to serve Turtle's High Protein Chocolate Cereal as part of a complete breakfast – with milk or yoghurt and a portion of fruit. This utilises the higher protein content, reduces the relative proportion of added sugar in the whole meal, and supports a balanced morning energy intake for kids during growth.

Triangle

Can Turtle's High Protein Chocolate Cereal be used in ways other than with milk or yoghurt?

Yes, Turtle's High Protein Chocolate Cereal also works as a crunchy topping for overnight oats, chia pudding, fruit salads, or homemade protein desserts. You can add them to nut and seed mixes or use them as a decoration on baked porridge and cakes.

What inspires the founders

Turtle is a brand that embodies everything that goes into a great breakfast - simple, clean and delicious products. Their team focuses on creating innovative recipes and improving traditional breakfast dishes to make them healthier and more nutritious.

They were the first to market porridges, which gradually created a whole new segment in some European countries. They enrich classic recipes with modern elements and look for new ways to combine ingredients and discover new flavours.

Each Turtle product is designed with versatility in mind, but always with carefully selected organic ingredients that guarantee high quality, healthful ingredients and great taste.

How did this story begin?

The founders were looking for organic, no-sugar-added breakfast cereals - and couldn't find them. At the time, both Thilo and Laurence were busy with work, but maternity leave proved to be just the right moment to launch Turtle - a brand that brings better breakfast alternatives to those looking for clean ingredients and real taste.

The name Turtle was chosen after the well-known story of the tortoise and the hare. While the hare pushes forward and tires quickly, the tortoise goes slowly but steadily - and eventually wins. It works the same way with the energy from whole grain oats, which is released gradually and gives the body a steady strength for the whole day.

Today, they are grateful to be able to share their love of breakfast with hundreds of thousands of you each month. They're always looking for new ways to bring you even better products and inspiration for breakfasts you'll love. Fair Trade Turtle

Fair Production: a responsibility that makes sense

Turtle is committed to sourcing ingredients in a fair and reasonable manner because it believes that quality products start with honest supplier relationships.

Proximity

  • They buy raw materials from farms close to their production facilities, which allows for a long-term and stable cooperation between farmers and producers.
  • This approach promotes not only the freshness of raw materials but also the sustainability of local communities.

Fair access

  • Every raw material is purchased in accordance with the high social standards set by organizations such as BSCI (Business Social Compliance Initiative), SA8000 (Social Accountability) and ILO (International Labour Organization).

All of Turtle' s suppliers are members of Sedex, which ensures fair living and working conditions for all those involved in growing cocoa, sugar cane and other ingredients that brands cannot grow directly in their area.

Healthy and nutritious food: start the day with energy that lasts

Breakfast should provide not only immediate energy, but also a long-lasting feeling of satiety and vitality. The right combination of macronutrients is the key to giving your brain and body everything they need to function optimally.

Reach for breakfast foods that contain a balance of carbohydrates, protein, healthy fats and fibre. Carbohydrates give you quick energy, while protein gives you a steady source of energy throughout the day.

Taste is the foundation of food enjoyment

This enjoyment has a positive effect on our health. It is scientifically proven that enjoying food supports digestion, improves the relationship with food and can help overcome problems such as eating disorders.

Therefore, it is not only important what you eat, but also how you eat it.

Turtle' s goal is to use packaging that preserves the freshness and taste of their products while minimizing the negative impact on the environment.

The cardboard boxes are made from 80% recycled fibres, and the outer packaging for transport is completely recyclable.

While plastic is not ideal, it is essential for preserving freshness and protecting against moisture, greatly reducing food waste. This plastic is recyclable, which means that by reusing it, the amount of new plastic can be reduced.

They use eco-friendly bubbles made from degradable vegetable starch to ship orders.
