FAQ
What does graviola juice taste like and what can I combine it with?
The juice has a gently sweet and slightly sour taste, reminiscent of a combination of strawberries, bananas, and pineapples. It tastes great on its own, but is also suitable for smoothies, fruit cocktails, chia puddings, or ice creams. It pairs excellently with mango, coconut yogurt, or lime.

Why is the juice mixed with coconut water and not pure?
The combination of 60% graviola pulp and 40% coconut water helps improve taste and drinkability, as pure graviola has a fibrous consistency and sometimes a too intense taste. Coconut water softens, refreshes, and naturally mineralizes the drink – plus it adds electrolytes and enhances hydration.

Who is graviola juice ideal for and who should avoid it?
Graviola juice is an excellent choice for anyone looking for a refreshing drink with a natural content of vitamins and antioxidants. It is especially recommended during physical exhaustion, stress, or periods of increased immune load. Conversely, it should be avoided by people with low blood pressure or those taking antihypertensives – as graviola can naturally lower blood pressure. Consultation with a doctor is always recommended, especially for pregnant and breastfeeding women.

How should the juice be stored and how long does it last?
Store unopened juice in a cool and dark place. After opening, keep it in the fridge and consume ideally within 2–3 days. Sediment is not a defect – it is natural and just needs to be shaken well before use.

Can the juice be used in cooking or baking?
It is primarily intended for direct consumption or in uncooked recipes – e.g., smoothies, raw desserts, breakfast bowls, or iced drinks. When cooking, it may lose flavor and some nutrients, so its culinary use is recommended more in the cold kitchen.

Are Kokonati products safe for nut allergy sufferers and celiacs?
Yes. All packaging is processed in a facility that works exclusively with coconut, so there is no risk of cross-contamination with peanuts or other nuts. Additionally, ingredients like coconut flour are naturally gluten-free, hypoallergenic, and suitable for gluten-free or low-carb diets.

What is the shelf life of Ceylon Kokonati coconut oils and how should they be stored?
Kokonati virgin and steam-deodorized coconut oils naturally have a long shelf life – at least 24 months from the date of manufacture. They just need to be stored in a well-sealed bottle in a dark, dry place up to 25°C; a refrigerator is not necessary (the oil will just solidify). When re-liquefying, heat the container in a water bath up to 30°C – the quality will not suffer.

How does Ceylon Kokonati achieve zero-waste production and support local communities?
In the mill, every part of the coconut is utilized: oil and butter from the pulp, flour from the fiber, sugar and syrup from the nectar, water for vinegars and drinks, husks for biofuel, and fiber for compost or textiles. They officially declare “Zero Eco-Impact on waste – all by-products are utilized”. At the same time, purchasing at fair prices and long-term contracts provide small farmers with a stable income and protect traditional livelihoods.

Where do the coconuts come from and how is the single-origin provenance guaranteed?
Kokonati purchases only from small farmers and mills in the “coconut triangle” (districts of Kurunegala, Puttalam, and Gampaha) in the west of Sri Lanka. Each batch is pressed, filled, and packed directly on site, and organic transaction traceability certificates are issued for shipments, making it possible to trace the field, farm, and harvest date.

Are Ceylon Kokonati products truly organic and GMO-free?
Yes. All products have international EU Organic and USDA NOP certification, issued by the inspection body Control Union (Netherlands); production is also audited according to HACCP and GMP standards. The organic standards themselves prohibit the use of genetically modified ingredients, so the range is de facto GMO-free. Processing takes place in a facility that handles exclusively coconut, ensuring gluten-free purity of the products.

The Ceilon Kokonati brand was established in 2013. In its range you can find a variety of high quality and affordable products made from sustainably produced coconuts, spices and tropical fruits.
The brand's name refers to the country that its founders consider home, Ceylon, Sri Lanka, where the coconuts for the coconut line of products are grown and processed. Ceylon, a British Crown Colony from 1815-1948, is now known as Sri Lanka, but the founders of the brand prefer to call it Ceylon because it definitely sounds more exotic and "pure Ceylon" is a brand in itself, reminiscent of the fresh unique essence of pure Ceylon tea. "Kokonati" on the other hand is Maori for coconut, so absolutely the most appropriate brand name for the most coconutty goodness ever.
The Ceilon Kokonati brand is run by a married couple. The female founding half is Mrs. Bûmika, which means Lady of the Earth in Sanskrit. Her great-grandfather was one of the pioneers of coconut oil pressing in Ceylon, making her the fourth generation of coconut oil presser. The male founding half, Mr. Mosqi, in turn, is originally a pure Ceylon tea grower.
Ceylon Kokonati is wholly owned and operated in New Zealand. Loose products from Kokonati uses several ethical brands that produce clean, organic food and beauty products. By selling Kokonati products, rural communities and traditional livelihoods are supported. All their products are ethically harvested and there is almost no waste in their production. Each part of the coconut is used in the production of a different product. Kokonati products are single-ingredient, packaged directly at the source, never mixed, single-species, non-GMO and vegan.
With a passion for organic, regenerative farming, sustainability and collective partnerships, Kokonati products come only from small farms and mills in rural villages in Sri Lanka. Each Kokonati product is produced in a specialized mill that produces only that type of product. Quality is therefore the best it can be, and every step of production is backed by the experience and knowledge of many generations. Ceylon is blessed with an abundance of healthy, exotic fruits, nuts, herbs and spices.
Ceylon Kokonati follows the principles of balanced living - live and let live.
They're trying to keep everything in even better condition than when they found it..
