M4L obtains these spores from certified organic reishi mushrooms, which are grown in China on special hardwood trunks/logs submerged in the ground and protected by tunnel roofing to protect the spores from the elements.

The spores are then crushed at a low temperature using pressure and sound vibrations, which break down the hard cell wall while preserving the highest concentration of triterpenes (min. 6%, compare to 3% directly in the reishi mushroom).
